Alpha Queen -
Chapter 103
Liviana’s POV
“I want to go back” I muttered.
Then….I sank.
I went straight in the water beneath my feet.
It was as if it was pulling me down and I struggled to swim afloat.
In the end, I failed and I sank deeper in the water.
I couldn’t breathe.
What’s happening?
I shut my eyes and focus on gathering my energy.
But I couldn’t feel anything.
“Mama”
I opened my eyes.
I was still deep in the water.
I could only see darkness.
“Mama”
It was a voice of a child.
So soft.
So warm.
“Mama”
I moved my head frantically to search for it but didn’t anyone else in the water.
But the sound seemed so close.
Yet, I couldn’t reach it.
“Mama”
I closed my eyes tightly again.
Where is it coming from?
I need to…replace it.
Whoever it was
Just like that, I opened my eyes again and I gasped as I jolt awake.
Then, I fell on a soft material.
What just happened?
My eyes roamed around.
I was in an unfamiliar bedroom.
Then, I sensed movements beside me.
I quickly sat up as I summoned my powers.
The guy approaching me came flying across the room as he was slammed onto the wall.
My eyes glowed bright gold as my hands lit up on fire.
The man looked at me in shock.
“Who are you and where am I?” I growled.
The man kept looking at me in shock.
I forced myself to get out of the bed and stood up.
Then, the door suddenly burst open and I heard loud gasps.
I snapped my head to look at the people by the door.
They all looked at me with fear in their eyes.
“Move!” someone loudly growled and the people stepped to the side as a man made his way through the people by the door.
Then, our eyes met.
His golden eyes stared into mine and his eyes widened as he saw me.
Then, he turned his eyes to look at my hands and I watched as his mouth gaped open in shock.
“Don’t come closer” I warned in a dangerous tone as I raised my hand in their direction.
Suddenly, guards came rushing as they shielded the man and pointed their swords at me.
“Put your weapons down!” the man commanded firmly and he shove away the guards as he stepped in front of them again to face me.
“But your highness” one guard said.
Your highness?
The man glared at the guard and the guard immediately lowered his head.
Then, the man looked at me once again and then he looked at the guy who I pinned up the wall.
“Please let him go” he calmly said.
I raised my brow at him.
“Why would I?” I said eyeing him.
The man sighed.
“We are not here to harm you” he assured me.
I chuckled slightly.
“Do you think that’s easy to believe?” I said.
The man only looked at me.
“Who are you and where am I?” I asked keeping my guard up.
“You’re in the royal palace” he said.
My brows furrowed.
The royal palace?
That’s impossible.
“The royal palace of Halo” he clarified.
My eyes widened.
Halo?
I’m in…Halo?
“I….I’m the King” the man continued.
“I am King Callisto White of the Halo territory” he said.
King Callisto White?
I know I’ve heard that name before.
I stared at the man trying to figure out who he actually was.
Then, I realized it.
My mouth gaped open.
“You…you’re…you’re Princess Diana White’s…father?” I said in shock.
I had assumed that he had stepped down from the throne of Halo.
But I guess I was wrong.
The man’s expression changed suddenly.
“You know my daughter?” he said.
I bit my lower l*p.
Of course I know her.
Atleast I know her now.
She is the one who gave birth to me after all.
“Yes. I do know her” I said and I saw a glint of hope flash in his eyes.
“Do you know where she is?” he asked hopeful.
I gulped.
How was I supposed to tell him that although I knew where she was, she was no longer with us?
Atleast not physically.
“She….she’s no longer with us. I’m sorry” I said apologetically.
I saw how the King’s hopeful expression turned into a pained one.
I looked away not wanting to see the sadness in his eyes.
Then, my eyes met with the guy who is still pinned on the wall.
I sighed and lowered him back to the ground as I stepped back from everyone.
My eyes were no longer glowing bright gold but I still kept my guard up from everyone.
Some of the guards rushed to the guy as they pulled him to their side.
“How do you know my daughter?” King Callisto asked.
I bit my lower l*p as I looked down.
I extinguished the fire in my hands.
Then, I looked back up as I met eyes with King Callisto’s.
“She’s my mother” I said.
The King’s eyes widened in shock and so did everyone else’s in the room.
“Princess Diana White is my mother” I stated.
“H-how is that possible?” the King asked in shock.
I thought of what I was supposed to say.
But there were too many people in the room and it made me feel uncomfortable.
I looked at the other people in the room.
Then, the King turned to look at everyone else as well.
He got the message.
“Leave” he commanded everyone.
“But your highness—“
“I said leave!” he growled.
Everyone backed away as they left the room.
The guy who I pinned to the wall eyed me until the door closed and everyone left.
The King looked at me again.
I took a deep breath.
“When my mother ran away, she ended up in Lunar’s territory” I started.
The King and I were in a safe distance from each other.
“She was caught by the Lunar’s warriors and was brought to the palace. To the King. King Kale Alaric” I continued on.
I saw King Callisto clench his fists.
“He didn’t hurt her” I told him before he could think of anything bad.
I saw his fists slightly relax.
“They did replace out that they were actually mates” I said and King Callisto’s eyes widened.
“Mates?” he said and I nodded.
“Yes. Mates. Princess Diana and King Kale were mates” I said.
King Callisto looked shocked and confused.
“King Kale protected Princess Diana and he hid her away from everyone to protect her from harm” I continued.
“Then…they had me” I said.
I saw how King Callisto’s expression softened as he looked at me.
“What’s your name?” he asked softly.
I pursed my lips.
“Liviana. My name is Liviana” I said.
King Callisto slightly smiled.
“Some time after I was born….something happened” I tried to continue.
My jaw clenched.
“Something bad” I said as I clenched my fists.
“My parents were hunted down. Both King Kale and Princess Diana” I said as my eyes started to tear up at the memory.
“King Kale was captured and Princess Diana tried to escape with me” I said.
“But unfortunately, she thought we couldn’t make it if it was her and I. So…” I paused as I remembered the bitter memory of the past.
I sighed.
“So she gave me to King Kale’s most trusted warrior and she sacrificed herself for me” I said as a tear fell from my eye.
Then, I looked at the King.
I saw his pained expression as his own eyes watered.
“But the moon goddess took her in. She didn’t suffer a terrible death. The moon goddess made my mother a guardian and that’s where she is now” I told him.
The King’s expression turned into one of relief.
But I’m sure he was still feeling down hearted of the news about his daughter.
The King looked at me softly.
“So you’re my granddaughter?” he asked softly.
I bit my lower l*p and slowly nodded.
The King smiled slightly.
“No wonder” he said as he made his way towards me.
I instinctively stepped back.
The King stopped at his tracks.
“I would never harm you. You understand that, right?” he said softly.
I sighed and slightly nodded.
King Callisto smiled again as he continued to walk towards me.
This time, I didn’t step away.
As soon as he came to me, King Callisto engulfed me in a tight hug.
“My granddaughter” he muttered.
Then, I heard his quiet sobs.
My arms slowly moved to hug him back.
We stayed like that for a moment.
After that, King Callisto guided me back to my bed.
I looked around the room again.
That’s when I saw the machines beside the bed.
“How long was I out?” I asked curiously.
“You were in a coma for more than a year” the King said as he tucked me in.
I looked at him wide eyed.
“I was out for a whole year?!” I exclaimed.
King Callisto nodded.
I gulped.
I was out that long?
“H-how did you replace me?” I asked further.
“Rainer found you while he was…on duty” he said.
“Rainer?” I said.
King Callisto nodded.
“My head warrior. He was the guy that you pinned to the wall earlier” he told me.
I pursed my lips in embarrassment.
“I didn’t know. Sorry” I said.
King Callisto chuckled.
“I’m sure you had only done it out of impulse. Waking up in an unfamiliar place can be like that” he said in understanding.
We were quiet for a moment.
“Liviana” he said softly.
“Yes?” I replied.
King Callisto looked at me seriously.
“There’s something else you need to know” he said as he stared at me straight in the eyes.
My heart thumped inside of my chest.
I felt nervous for some reason but I didn’t know why.
“What is it?” I asked.
King Callisto sighed.
Whatever it was, it was making me anxious.
