Chapter 123

Liviana’s POV

I stood on the side as I watched the warriors and guards train.

I train with them almost every day.

Rainer and I came up with a new training program for everyone a while back.

We combined the training program I used for my pack warriors and guards in Crescent Moon and the original training program for Halo.

All the men had drastically improved and so have I.

I spar with Rainer almost every single day.

Atleast when he’s not on a mission out.

Rainer was different.

He was more than just a skilled fighter.

He can actually keep up with me.

That’s why I feel the most challenged when I’m sparring with Rainer.

Then, there’s Axel and Connor.

I’ve become close to them as well.

They’re very loyal and I feel comfortable around them.

Every now and then, I spar with them as well.

Sometimes, I spar with Axel, Connor and Rainer all together.

That certainly keeps me on my toes.

Aside from that, I’ve also improved in controlling my powers more.

Specially my healing powers.

I learned to focus on using my energy more than using my own life force to heal someone.

I usually practice in the clinic or hospital with the injured men.

It has helped me a lot to improve.

“Liviana”

I turned to look and saw Axel and Connor coming my way.

“Hey” I greeted them.

“Are you done training?” Axel asked.

I nodded.

“No, not yet. I’m just resting for a bit while watching the others train” I said.

“Why? What’s up?” I asked.

“Nothing really. Do you want to join us for lunch?” Connor asked.

“Sure but I still need to wait for Luke though” I said.

“What time is it?” I asked.

“Quarter to 12” Axel told me when he looked at his watch.

“Luke will be here a little before 12” I told them.

Since I’ve been spending more time now on the training grounds after my 21st birthday, Luke comes to me during lunch and dinner so we can eat together like we usually do when I do my royal duties.

I don’t let him stay for too long when Rainer is not around like today.

I don’t want my son getting hurt or getting in trouble.

But he really loves being on the training grounds and watching everyone train.

He’s especially fond when he watches Rainer and I train together.

“Then we’ll wait for him then. No problem” they said.

I nodded.

Axel and Connor stood on both my sides as we all watched the other men train.

“It’s amazing how much everyone improved in more than just a year” Connor commented.

“Yeah. Everyone’s skills drastically improved after Rainer and Liviana came up with the new training program” Axel said.

“And here I thought we were all already skilled fighters. Then, Liviana comes along and beats the sht out of all of us” Connor said laughing.

Axel and I laughed too.

“I did no such thing” I denied.

I don’t even give all that I have when fighting against them.

I wanted them to improve their combat skills not to die.

“No wonder you were the first female Alpha in Lunar. You can kick some butt” Axel said and playfully nudged me.

I chuckled.

“It’s also why she’s our future Queen” Connor said.

“Exactly” Axel agreed.

I playfully rolled my eyes.

“Are you both trying to get on my good side or what?” I said chuckling.

Axel and Connor shrugged.

“We’re just appreciating how amazing you truly are, your majesty” Axel teased.

I nudged them both.

“Oh please” I said.

We all laughed.

After a few more minutes of teasing and bickering with each other, Luke finally came.

“Mommy!” Luke shouted as he ran to me.

I caught Luke in my arms and I gave him a ton of k****s on his face as he giggled.

“Hi, baby” I greeted him.

“Hello, mommy” Luke greeted back.

I smiled.

“Hi, little prince” Axel and Connor greeted Luke.

Luke waved at them.

“Hi, uncle Axel. Hi, uncle Connor” Luke greeted them.

They’re actually pretty close with each other since Luke knows Axel and Connor are friends with both Rainer and I.

“Let’s go eat lunch, buddy. Are you hungry?” I asked as I held Luke’s hand as we headed to the buffet.

Luke nodded.

“I’m hungry because I wanted to eat with you, mommy. I didn’t want to eat my snacks because I told auntie Kaley that I wanted to share my snacks with you” Luke said cutely.

“Awwww, baby” I said lightly pinching his cheeks.

My sweet little boy.

“It’s okay to eat your snacks all by yourself, baby. You don’t have to share with mommy. It’s fine” I told him.

“But mommy, you always share your food with me so I wanted to share mibe with you too” Luke said with a pout.

I smiled.

I feel so blessed having Luke.

He’s such a caring little one.

“Still, it’s fine, baby. Mommy can just get more snacks so you can eat yours, okay?” I said.

Luke finally nodded.

We reached the buffet and Luke was in front of me.

I gave Luke his own plate and I served him his food.

After that, we went to our table as Axel and Connor followed us.

I sat Luke down and put on his bib from his pocket.

I let him eat by himself so he can learn.

“It feels like yesterday that Luke was just a baby who only knows how to say ‘mama’ but now he can already eat by himself” Connor said.

It’s true.

Luke really is growing up well.

I’m glad and sad at the same time.

I don’t think I’m ready to watch him grow up too soon.

I enjoyed my time with my son a lot.

Who knows what can happen when he grows up?

He might be a mommy’s boy right now but I’ll never know in the future.

I hope and pray that we’ll still have the same bond that we do in the future no matter how older he gets.

Luke may resemble his father more than me but he sure has my personality and attitude when I was also a child.

I watched Luke as he ate.

How will I be able to prepare myself for Luke’s future?

We ate lunch peacefully and I cleaned up Luke afterwards.

Then, Axel and Connor played with Luke as I watched them.

Luke was laughing and giggling excitedly as Axel and Connor chased him around.

My son looked adorable.

“Your majesty”

I turned to look at who called me.

“Captain Rainer has come back” the guard said.

My eyes slightly widened.

He’s back so soon?

I thought they’d come the next day.

“Okay. I’ll go and meet him” I said.

The guard nodded and bowed his head.

I turned to look at Luke who was stilk playing.

“Luke!” I called.

They all turned to look at me.

Luke ran back to me.

“Yes, mommy?” Luke asked innocently.

“Uncle Rainer is back” I told him.

“Really?” he asked excitedly.

I nodded.

“Rainer is back so soon?” Axel asked.

I nodded.

“We should go and meet him” I said.

They nodded.

Luke held my hand as we made our way back to the palace to see Rainer.

Why did they come back ahead of schedule?

Did something go wrong?

They don’t normally go back so soon.

So what happened?

We finally reached the palace and went in.

We went straight to the living room and I immediately saw Rainer.

But it was only him.

There was no sign of the other men.

“Uncle Rainer!” Luke called him.

Rainer turned to look at us as Luke ran to him.

Rainer caught Luke in his arms and hugged.

“Hey, buddy” he said.

“I missed you” Luke told him.

Rainer smiled.

“I missed you too” Rainer said then looked at me.

“Luke, can you stay with uncle Axel and Connor for a while. I need to talk to mommy alone” Rainer said.

My brows furrowed a little confused.

There was something.

Luke nodded obediently and Rainer gave him to Axel.

Then, Rainer held my hand and pulled me to one of the guest room.

“What’s happening?” I asked confused.

Rainer shut the door and faced me.

He had a look on his face that I didn’t quite like.

It made me nervous.

“Rainer, what happened? Why are you acting like this?” I asked restless.

Rainer took a deep breath.

“I found out something when I was in Lunar” he started.

“I knew I had to tell you immediately so I came back alone” he said.

My brows furrowed.

What was so important that he came back just to tell me.

“What is it?” I asked.

Rainer looked at me for a moment.

“It’s about the former King. King Luis” he said.

I immediately frowned.

That monster.

“What?” I asked again.

“I was going through some stuff in the the palace of Lunar when I ended up in an old room. Then, I found a few things there including these” Rainer said and took out something from his pocket.

It was a vial with something liquid inside and a piece of paper.

My brows furrowed as he gave it to me.

I opened the piece of paper and saw the letter.

I started to read it.

Dear Luan,

By the time that you replace this letter, it’s already too late for me. I found out what your father did and what he is doing. I tried to stop him. I tried to talk him out of it. But he’s already in too deep. Your father is a bad bad man, son. He set up King Kale so he can take the crown for himself and he’s keeping him captive to keep the throne. I’m dying, Luan. Your father has been gradually poisoning me to get rid of me. It was too late when I found out. I will not survive much longer. But I do hope that you will not become like your father. I know that you are different from him. I love you so much, son. I’m sorry I was too late. Just know that I will always look after you from above. Love, Mom.

My mouth gaped open in shock.

She knew.

Luan’s mother knew.

She didn’t just die.

She was killed.

She was killed by King Kale.

By his own husband.

Oh ghad.
