Chapter 78

Liviana’s POV

“Ooooh! This one looks really nice” Cassandra said and pulled out a gold colored off shoulder gown.

I shook my head.

“I’d prefer something that would almost completely cover me up. The less skin exposed, the better” I said making Cassandra pout.

It wasn’t that I can’t wear off shoulder types of gowns.

But I had to hide my moon mark, of course.

Being marked by Luan is already difficult to explain.

What more if everyone replaces out that I bear the moon goddess’ mark?

“But these would look so great on you” Cassandra whined.

Luan came in and he immediately wrapped his arms around my waist.

“What’s wrong?” he asked.

“I said I wanted something that would cover me up completely” I told him with a shrug.

“Great idea. That’s my girl” Luan said with a grin. I playfully rolled my eyes and chuckled.

“Oh come on! These would look lovely on Livi. Showing a little skin every now and then won’t hurt. I’m sure Luan won’t mind as long as it’s for the party” Cassandra pouted.

I chuckled.

“It doesn’t have anything to do with Luan, Cassandra. He can complain all he wants about what I wear but I’ll wear it anyway. It’s just my personal preference, that’s why” I explained calmly to her.

Cassandra sighed and nodded.

“Now, go out again” Cassandra instructed Luan.

Luan frowned and sighed.

Then, he kissed the side of my head and left again to join the twins.

Cassandra basically rummaged the gowns in the expensive boutique again and made me try on a few different pieces.

Finally, we were able to pick out the best one that we both agreed on.

“About time” Abe said with a frown.

“At this rate, we could’ve just bought the place for you guys to live in” he added making Cassandra glare at him.

“Shut up. You’re the one who decided along even though you weren’t exactly needed now, are you?” she said and rolled her eyes.

Abe glared at her and then pouted like a child.

“What next?” Luan asked as he came to my side and wrapped his arm around my waist once more.

“Shoes, obviously” Cassandra said and Luan nodded.

We all went to the next store that sell fancy shoes.

Cassandra went through the designs while I sat down with the boys.

“She sure has quite the energy for shopping” I said in amusement as I watched Cassandra.

“That’s her forte. Shopping” Beau said with a chuckle.

We all watched Cassandra as she picked out shoes for me.

I decided to just keep still because in the first place, I wasn’t exactly a professional at any of these.

After some time, Cassandra came back to us with a staff behind her and a stack of shoe boxes.

The staff aligned the boxes at my feet and opened each one of them revealing different variations of expensive looking high heels.

“Cassandra, I only need a pair. Not a bunch” I told her.

“I know. We’ll pick out the best one, of course” she said. I sighed.

“Let me” Luan said and stood up before kneeling in front of me and getting a shoe to slip on my feet.

I blushed a little.

I was never a fan of things like this.

But it surely made my heart flutter.

How stupid but lovely at the same time.

I tried on the shoes and even tried to walk in them to see if it would be comfortable for me to wear to the party.

After all, it’ll be a long night.

Luan was the one who made the final decision on the shoes and Cassandra even agreed with him.

And after all of that shopping, we finally went back to the pack house.

We were set to leave tomorrow early in the morning so I just invited Abe, Beau and Cassandra to stay over since we still had to go through some things about the party.

They wanted to give me what they call ‘princess lessons’ to fit in with everyone else in the party.

“Are you saying I won’t be able to fit in with you guys?” I asked with a raised brow..

“Of course not, Liviana. It’s just that…you give off a different vibe of superior” Beau said.

“The ‘I’m an Alpha and I can rip your throat out if I need to so don’t look down on me because I’m better than you’ vibe” Abe said so Beau nudged him.

I chuckled.

“Isn’t that better?” I said.

“I personally think it’s hot” Luan butt in and then shrugged.

Everyone looked at him with a ‘what the fck’ look while I shook my head in disbelief and chuckled.

What a weirdo.

Everyone took turns briefing me about royal matters that I should take note on.

Then, they also introduced ‘important people’ that I might encounter during the party.

I mentally took note of everything from the small details to the big ones.

It was better to blend in this way.

If I can pull this off properly, no one else has to know of my true identity so soon.

“You holding up, okay?” Luan asked as we went downstairs to take a break and have some dinner.

“I’m fine. Just extremely bored” I said and he chuckled.

“I can understand why” he said and we both laughed.

We had dinner together after everyone else since I didn’t exactly want everyone else to tense up with the presence of so many royalties in one room.

I saw Dante just leaving the kitchen and our eyes met.

Earlier before we left to go out to the mall, he met the Haymes siblings and it wasn’t too pretty at first when they Haymes realizes who he is.

Or more like what he is.

Luan and I had to step in, obviously and explained to them who he is.

Then, it became uglier for me when I told him about the party and about meeting the King.

We had another uncle and niece intense argument to which I won.

Atleast after promising that I’ll call him from time to time so he knows that I am completely safe.

I smiled at Dante but he only gave me a nod before leaving.

I sighed.

He must still be upset with the whole situation.

It hasn’t even been long since I was marked and mated with Luan to which my uncle disapproved off and now, I need to meet the King.

Who knows what can happen.

I understand why he’s worried.

I will after all meet the person who took over my father’s title.

We ate dinner while still talking about royal matters and stuff like that.

After that, we had our final session of the ‘princess lessons’ and finished up so we can rest for tomorrow’s trip.

Luan and I went to our room, or mainly my room that we now share while the Haymes’ siblings went to their designated rooms.

Luan took a shower first and I plopped down the bed while staring at the ceiling.

I wondered when Dante will tell me why he seems to absolutely despise the current who also happens to be Luan’s father.

I know he has a reason.

He just doesn’t want to tell me.

Or maybe he’s holding it back.

The reason why?

I don’t know.

After a while, Luan came out of the bathroom with only a towel in his lower body.

“Baby I—“

I swooshed past him and into the bathroom even before he can do anything that will lead to something like that night at his place.

I wasn’t going to be seduced twice.

No, thank you.

Specially since I’m still worried if our first will end up with me getting pregnant since we didn’t use any type of protection.

And birth control pills that are used by human will not work on us she-wolves.

So that’s fun.

I took my time in the shower as I also cooled down my head and empty my thoughts.

I needed to be mentally prepared for this.

After some time, I finally finished and got dressed with the clothes that I brought earlier.

When I went out, Luan was already fully dressed sitting on the bed with a clear frown on his face.

He looked at me and pouted.

“Are you avoiding me?” he asked like a sulky little child.

I laughed making him frown even more.

“No. We’ve been together all day. How am I avoiding you?” I said as I stood beside the bed and in front of him.

“That’s not what I mean” he said.

I chuckled and cupped his face before squeezing it.

“That’s not it” I told him softly.

Then, Luan suddenly pulled me to the bed.

I landed on my back and he was on top of me.

“Then what is it?” he whispered into my ear sending shivers down my spine.

I gulped.

Why do I suddenly feel turned on?

Now is not the time to be a literal btch.

We’re supposed to rest for tomorrow.

I’m supposed to save my energy.

“I can smell your arousal, love” Luan whispered again with a grin.

My eyes widened.

Dang it.

“So this is why you keep trying to avoid me in situations like this” he said and started planting light k****s on my neck.

I g*****d and bit my lower l*p to stifle a m**n.

“Luan…” I managed to voice out in a shaky tone.

“Yes, my love?” he replied as he continued to k**s me on my jaw then collarbone.

“W-we can’t. We h-have something to do t-tomorrow” I said breathlessly.

Luan stopped kissing me and then looked at me for a moment.

“Okay” he said and rolled to my side.

That’s it?

He just said ‘okay’ like that?

“Goodnight, baby” Luan said and pulled me to him to cuddle.

I had the sudden urge to hit him.

He was so active earlier and it seemed he really wanted me.

But now, it’s like he wasn’t just trying to sedice me a little earlier.

I felt…disappointed for some reason.

What in the actual hell?

I sighed.

“What’s wrong?” Luan suddenly asked worried. I looked at him but I think it became a glare.

“What? What did I do?” he asked confused.

I chuckled at his reaction and I no longer felt annoyed with him.

“Nothing. I was just playing with you” I teased and snuggled closer to him as he pouted.

“Goodnight, Luan” I said and he gave me a peck on the lips and another k**s on my forehead.

I closed my eyes and went to slumber.

No matter what happens tomorrow night, so be it.

Atleast, I’ll have Luan by my side.

That’s enough to assure me that I’ll be just fine.

As long as it’s with my mate.
