Autumn

Gem was in a rage at hearing what that man was. Babbling, I'm not completely sure how I managed to hear what was being said. It was like I was there with Reins. Every word was clear, Gem quickly informed me it was a new gift that had woken, which is why I felt so tired after everything. It was strange I was asleep when I heard voices. At first I thought someone was linking me but it was different, Once I heard Reins voice then the others I was wide awake and Gem was ready to give him a peice of her mind. "How dare he say those things?" Gem growled, " He needs to be put in his place."

He didn't even know me or know who Gem was. Sure he talked with us. But he didn't know what type of person I was. How could someone like those sit on the council from what Reins told me about them they help keep the peace between packs and when it's a major crime like what Rachell had done they are to stop in and make the decisions on what the punishment would be.

They were to be fair and were supposed to be knowable.

I couldn't hold Gem back when he began talking about someone. Taking us away from our mate, Gem pushed forward with such force it made my head hurt, "Gem!"

I called her but she didn't answer. All I could do was hang in the back and watch her storm down there. People clear out of our way

kneeling and baring their necks,

"Gem stop. We are forcing people to submit!" I tried again but still, she didn't answer me. She was too focused on the man who spoke lies,

Entering the dungeon, no one tried to stop us. She walked fast and with a purpose. Once they came into sight, I watched everyone drop to their knees and then bow their heads. Rein's body stiffened before he turned. He was the only one who didn't submit to Gem. Walking right up to our mate, she cupped his face, kissing him. "Gem" His voice popped into our heads.

Turning, I glared at the man kneeling with his head down.

Stepping closer, leaving a low growl out,

"Look at me, you little man."

Slowly he lifted his head but kept his eyes shut.

"Open your eyes!"

Doing as I ordered, he wasn't able to go against my orders.

I've heard everything you spoke of. I'm here to inform you that you are wrong. You know nothing of my history of what we went through. It was because of people like you we almost went extinct. Because you wanted power, you wanted to control us well. We will not be controlled anymore!"

He cowarded back as I spoke my words pushing my auro forward. Gem wanted him to feel our power,

"You are worried we can't control ourselves, worried we will destroy everything in our path. That's why you want to control us and use us for your benefit. Thinking we would help win battles and give you strong offspring, Well, no more. it stops with me. I will not let anyone take me from my mate. You nor the council can change that."

"I'm sorry I didn't mean anything by it. Please, I was just jealous. That's all. I won't say anything else. Please!"

Making him stay like that for a few more seconds, I felt Gem pull back as she quietly retreated to the back of my mind, letting me come forward,

I felt a pair of hands touch my shoulder, making me turn to them. I locked eyes with Reins.

"You ok?"

Nodding my head, "Yes Gem pushed forward so fast I couldn't stop her,"

"How did you know? What he said no one had linked you. I made sure to keep my emotions blocked so as to not upset you."

"I'm not sure either. All I know is Gem said it was a new gift. I was still asleep when I heard you talking,"

"Alright, let's not talk about it here."

He turned to look at the man who finally stood up but kept his head down, not wanting to look at any of us,

"Is that the truth? You are jealous?" Reins asked him,

He peeked up at me but I just looked at him. I was upset at what he had said, but Gems' rage was something different. This time she was hurt more than anything she wanted to speak her mind. I don't blame her, she knows more about us than anyone, even the council.

"Yes, it was."

"Why? You don't even know anything about my pack or me. You have no idea what I do to keep this pack safe. This is the first time I've called on the council for help. Because my pack is loyal, Rachel is the first one to step out and break any laws." The man just walked backwards till he bumped the cot, then sat down,

"I don't know what to say. They speak so highly of you at the council. I guess when I got here I had already decided I didn't want to like you,"

"So, instead of using your better judgment, you have already made your mind up to ruin me and take my pack down and try to leave it without an Alpha or Luna. Then spit lies out about her trying to get me to do something that would save your a*s!" I could see Reins starting to lose control as he spoke. His voice got deeper. Reaching out, I placed a hand on his arm,

"Yes, they all looked up to you, then when we learned of your mate it only made my jealousy drive even harder. I wanted them to look at me the way they see you. I wanted to have a mate like yours. I'm the youngest member of the council, but I'm the least liked." "So you came here with the intention of destroying what my family had worked so hard to build. This pack has been in my family for five generations,"

"I'm sorry,"

"Why did you break Rachel out?"

"I thought with the way she was towards you that you two really had a relationship, but clearly I was wrong."

"What would that have to do with anything?"

"She claimed to be carrying your child. I thought I was taking something from you."

"If she was really carrying my child, do you think I would have left her in the cell? And how many times did I say I never touched her!"

"I know that now I also know she's not carrying any child. Maybe she was before, but she was not when you guys found us in the woods."

Reins just shook his head at what we were hearing. All of us couldn't believe what he was saying. All this was because he was jealous. Before anything could be said, we heard footsteps. Looking over my shoulder, I saw it was the other guy who was a part of the council.

This man was older than the one locked up. He had salt and pepper hair and his face had wrinkles around his eyes and forehead. He carried himself well but you could see time was catching him,

"Why didn't anyone come to inform me that he had been returned already? I would have liked to speak with him privately"

Reins turned, grabbing my arm and pushing me behind him as Keaton and Sophia stepped up next to Reins.

"Because this is my pack house. I will handle things as I see fit and with his crimes, he is not speak with anyone but my people until the other members get here."

"Young man, may I remind you who you are speaking to?"

Reins held his hand, stopping him from talking,

"I know who you are, and given the situation that just took place, you are no longer in need here. The head Councilman and his assistant are on their way here and should be arriving any minute. So, if you do not wish to join your companion in his cell, you will bow face and walk out and wait in your assigned room till called upon."

"You have no right to order me like that. You are just an Alpha. I have been on the council for over forty years, making me your superior."

Hearing the growls that echoed from the members not agreeing with him, he was not above their Alpha, not on pack lands, and definitely not after what happened.

"Gem," I called her. I felt I needed to help, but I was not sure what to do,

"We can help our mate,"

"How?"

"Just relax, let me come forward again. I do not want to hurt you like last time,

"Alright,"

Shutting my eyes, I felt her push forward. This time it was not painful.

"Now let's teach this one a lesson or two, shall we?"
