Alphas Deaf Mate -
Chapter 99
Reins
Keaton met me at the door. Sophia was with him. Giving them a nod, Keaton pushed the door open.
"Alpha, how's Autumn? I didn't want to intrude earlier," Sohpis asked as we stepped through the door.
"She is doing OK. She wore out from everything but she is resting now/"
"I was worried when you asked for clothes to be brought out. Keaton told me what happened. She handled it alright? I know she isn't one for harming someone."
I was happy to hear how everyone knew she wasn't that type of person and that they could see the sweet and caring person she is.
"She is much better now after talking with her parents and, of course, Zach, they really helped her to see that she was not in the wrong."
"I tried telling Zach to wait, but he wouldn't listen. He stormed off mumbling something about kicking his sister's b**t."
Keaton says as he gives a goofy look, he knew Zach wouldn't actually harm his sister but he was upset with her.
"It's alright. He was mad when he first came to the room, but after just a few minutes of Autumn talking, he calmed down. Those two have a strong bond. With everything they went through as children, I'm surprised he didn't leave the body and replace her.' Sophia chuckled and Keaton nodded his head.
"He's a good kid. He follows orders even though he is pissed. He didn't hesitate. You know we don't have a delta spot filled. Maybe you should consider him for that."
"I agree with Keaton Alpha. Zas is a great member. He would be good as a ranked wolf." Sophia adds.
"I've thought about that. Plus, he is from beta blood, as his father was the beta in their old pack."
As we walked farther down the hall further, some of the rogues down there saw Sophia and began whistling and making comments.
One hard growl for Keaton and some scurried to the back of their cells while some just became quiet.
"Let's handle this first, then after the council gets here and leaves, then we can discuss this further."
"Yes Alpha," both say.
When we walked down the hall a little more, I saw a guard,
"I wanted to make sure nothing happened again so I put extra guards down there and I put Morgan and her mate in charge of them." "Morgan is down here?" I asked him while walking closer to the first guard.
"Yep. I figured she was better than anyone and her mate is a great fighter. These two make a good pair, and I knew she kept things straight."
"Most definitely she will," I said back.
Morgan is one I trust just as much as the four Autumn protectors that Gem has chosen. She proved that when she came to me about Rachel in the beginning and how she defended her the first time Rachel tried to hurt her. Reaching the cell I wanted, there stood Morgan and her mate. I couldn't help but smile.
When they heard footsteps, they looked. Seeing who it was, they both bowed their heads.
"Alpha."
Stopping in front of the cell door, there he sat on the small cot, elbows on his knees, head down, just looking at the floor.
I cleared my throat to get his attention. When he didn't look up, I knew he heard us approaching.
Slowly he looked up. I could see the regret on his face,
"What do you want?" He spoke, looking back down.
"I just wanted to see for myself that you were all tucked in."
He scoffed at my words,
"No, you just wanted to come down here and gloat about what happened back there and rub your stupid Alpha crap in my face,"
His words held hate, and I didn't know why I'd never met this man before he came here,
"You have been against me since you got here. What is your problem with me?"
Clenching his fist tightly, he stood up, anger written all over his face as he walked towards the bars.
"My problem is that you should not be Alpha, you should not be able to lead this pack and should have someone better than you!"
Growling could be heard from my pack members at his words. They didn't like him being disrespectful.
"You know nothing about me. So how can you say I shouldn't lead?" I was trying my best to not lose my cool and do something stupid and risk him using it against me later.
"I know plenty, as being on the council I have to know about all the pack leaders. You think, just because you have a large pack, that you can make up your own rules. The council gives in to you because they feel you are allies. They are afraid to cross you and then you are given a powerful mate, one that hasn't been around in many years."
At the mention of her, my face hardens. He just laughs.
"Yes, I know all about the silver wolves. What do you think our council wouldn't know of them? Besides the white wolf, they are the most powerful wolves. Their abilities are never-ending. She will be able to unlock more of her powers the more she bonds with her wolf." He places his hands on the bars, leaning in closer.
"She is a drug for others. Once they see her and smell her, she is like honey to some, and every unmated Alpha wolf will want her at his side. You will not be able to keep her safe. Someone will end up taking her from you it runs in their history." Growling at his words, I clenched my fist. I wanted to reach for him but I was trying to keep control.
"What's in their history?" Keaton asked, as he knew I couldn't.
"You guys didn't do research very well, did ya," he chuckled, stepping back away from the bars and I let out a breath. He was too close and I was losing my ability not to cause him harm. So I took one step back. A little space never hurts. Crossing his arms, he just looked at us with this smug look like he had the upper hand.
"Silver wolves have you ever thought why they stopped existing? That's because they were wanted so badly for their powers, that battles broke out to take them. Their powers only come alive when they replace their true mates, but afterward, their power stays even if their mate dies. Others knew this, so battles began killing their mates and being reclaimed by others."
"That we already knew all that. But you make it sound as if they are willing to kill their mates and move on."
Sophia says as she crosses her arms, staring right back at him.
Smiling, he met her stare. "How do you know they didn't?"
Because even though they are special wolves, they are loyal. It is in our nature so you can stop spitting things that aint true."
"You crack me up. How many times do mates reject each other? Just look at what happened in your own pack?"
I couldn't hold my growl this time stepping closer.
"Oh, be careful now, Alpha, you won't want anything to happen," he taunted me.
"Then stop wasting my time!"
"Hey, remember you came down here. Not the other way around."
"Then try saying some useful things!" Keaton barked at him.
"Like what? How your gonna lose your so-called Luna? Or no matter what you do, she will never be safe. You think calling the other council here will help you, Ha. are you an i***t? They will take her. You won't be able to stop them. She is the only one first after. After how long, they will not leave her here, they will take her back and lock her up and use her powers for their benefit."
"The council would never split an Alpha and Luna up," Sophipa says.
"That's what you think."
He looks at me smirking,
"What's the matter, Alpha having second thoughts about the council or maybe your thinking that having her as a mate is becoming too much of a hassle."
I could feel my wolf pushing to come forward. I knew if I let him I would lose the little bit of control I was still holding on to, but the rage in me was building and building fast,
That's when I felt it. Her power rolled through the dungeon in waves. I could feel her anger over mine.
Everyone turned as well as me and there she was. Her eyes were crystal clear, and her silver hair bounced with every step she took.
All stepped back as she approached, kneeling as her power filled that small space. Even the rogues didn't make a sound and were cowards in the back of their cells,
Stopping in front of me, she cupped my face, kissing my lips softly. Right then I knew it was Gem in control.
Turning, she looked at the man on his knees, head down.
Growling as she stepped closer to the bars,
"Look at me, you little man!" She ordered him.
Slowly lifting his head, he had his eyes shut,
"Open your eyes,"
He did as she said, not being able to go against her,
"I've heard everything you spoke of. I'm here to inform you that you are wrong. You know nothing of my history of what we went through. It was because of people like you we almost went extinct. Because you wanted power, you wanted to control us well. We will not be controlled anymore."
