Reins

She sat quietly looking out the window I saw she kept glancing in the mirror I guess she wanted to make sure her family was still there.

I didn't say much in the hospital her parents felt they needed to explain it to her seeing how they were the ones who kept it from her.

I was relieved when she didn't flinch or pull away from my touch I see her once in a while taking a deep breath in I think she can pick up on my scent.

I noticed at the party she kept looking around I know my scent was reaching her I made sure to stand downwind.

We were heading to the pack house my scout inform me that there were men camped close to their home again. Plus with Roberts on the loose, I wasn't letting her out of my sight.

My beta had gotten information that their old Alpha had hired him and that the person wanted to meet with me he said he could stand by and watch him do this anymore.

She had her hand in her lap fidgeting with her fingers. Reaching out I grabbed one of her hands her head snapped up to look at me but she didn't pull her hand away. I gave her a wink seeing a small blush appeared on her cheeks. I smiled to myself knowing I had an affected on her. I'm thinking her wolf isn't as dormant as they thought.

Pulling up to the pack house and shutting the truck off I jumped out going around to open her door. Helping her out I hear Keaton pull in behind everyone stepping out and walking over to us.

She turns to her dad I see her hands going he answers her back with signing.

He looks at me.

"She asked why we were here and not our home, I told her it would all be explained,"

Nodding to him I place my hand on her back again having her walk along with me.

I open the door and walk in we head straight to my office.

I see some of the pack members watching us as I still had my hand on her back and her walking next to me. Some of the women I noticed glaring I know it's because I'm showing her attention there's been a few that have been trying for a while but I don't break my rule never sleep with the pack women I didn't want trouble when I found my Luna but I can already see some brewing. But right now I need to handle business with my mate and then I'll deal with them.

Reaching my office I pushed the door open letting her walk in first I followed behind than everyone else piled in. I grabbed her hand leading her to the sitting area she sat down on the chair while her parents sat on the couch. Zach and Keaton stood off the side while I stayed next to her.

You could feel the tension in the air her parents had worried looks on their faces while her brother held a hurt look.

Her dad straightens up he turns to his wife.

"Give her the implant,"

She reaches into a small bag pulling out an object handing it to Autumn.

Autumn took it I watched as she places it on her ear then a circle piece stuck to the side of her head.

Nodding at her dad.

"It will be easier if you wear that so we all can understand the conversation,"

"Okay, dad,"

Letting out a sigh he rubs his face with his hand.

"Autumn, I'm sure there are a million questions you have about what happened at the party, First off Yes werewolves are real and we are all wolfs, well all except your mother,"

He looks at her waiting to see if she was gonna say anything. But she didn't she just bobbed her head a little.

She didn't say anything again nor didn't she move blinking anything. I heard her heartbeat pick up again placing my hand on her should I could feel she was tense. Letting my hand rest there I could feel her shoulders slowly relaxing. I gave him a small nod signaling for him to continue.

"All the times we have moved I said it was due to my work,"

"Yes," was all she replied but you could hear her voice was strand just a bit she was barely holding on and not completely freaking out.

"Well, that's not completely the truth, we um moved a lot because of um well um,"

He put his head in his hands he was lost at how he was to explain that someone is after her and she is a rare wolf I felt bad for him he has spent so long protecting her from the truth and now it was right in front of him.

Her mom placed a hand on his back rubbing circles helping him.

I stepped up and sat on the table in front of her. She looked at me then looked back at her dad who still couldn't look at her. I took her hands in mine so she could feel calm.

"Let me try and explain this to you, your dad is very upset but believe it when I say to you he did all this to protect you,"

She paused for a moment,

"Protect me from what?" She asked.

"Well, you are what some would call very rare, as you now know your family is werewolves as am I and all the people living here in this house, but you my dear are a werewolf too but you are not just an ordinary wolf, you are what they call a silver wolf and there are a lot of people who want to take you because they believe you have special powers,"

She didn't say anything she just looked at me with her eyes locked with mine.

"Why now? I mean why tell me this all now, and what do you have to do with all of this how come you turned to a wolf first? Why didn't one of you guys show me heck even you Zach! You waited till he did it first!" She was yelling by the time she finished. Her parents just hung their heads the guilt weight on them hard her mom was crying and her dad look broken.

"Plus if I'm a werewolf like you say then why haven't I changed into one?"

"Autumn, I wanted to," Zach started to say but I held my hand up stopping him.

She looked at me and then at Zach I could see she was trying to put things together,

"Autumn," I called her name lowly.

"Your wolf is dormant because the head injury you received as a child caused your wolf to go dormant, as for my part you are my mate my other half, just like your mom is your father's mate, that is why I acted the way I did when we first met and when I came for you at the mall,"

She pulls a hand from mine rubbing her forehead and closing her eyes.

I can tell she is feeling overwhelmed

Her breathing is becoming harder and quicker her heartbeat is rapidly getting faster.

"Autumn, you need to calm down, or your gonna,"

I didn't even get to finish when she went limp falling forward I quickly grab her pulling her towards me.
