Chapter 61

Autumn

Feeling warm rays dance across my face I could hear the sounds of birds singing along with the smell of wildflowers.

Opening my eyes all I could see was the blue sky with white clouds. Sitting up I looked around noticing I was in a meadow full of flowers and green grass that danced when the wind blew.

Hearing the birds again I looked around. Then I heard the light whispers or the wind as it moved crossed the meadow.

Wait I can hear? How am I able to hear the birds and the wind and the rustling of the tall grass,

Standing up and looking all around I was confused there wasn't a single person.

"Hello!" Startling myself with my own voice. It was different I could hear it outside my head I could actually hear my voice!

I felt the tears build up and then slip down my cheeks. Shutting my eyes I let myself take in all the sounds that were all around me. Warmth spread throughout my body the happiness I felt at this moment was something I didn't want to ever want to leave me. Suddenly a loud howl snapped me out of my trance turning my head to the direction it came from but I didn't see anything there. When I heard it again this time it sounded clearer than before.

The sadness in the howl and the loneliness made my heart hurt. Before I knew it I was walking towards the sound of it.

When I reached the top of the little noll I saw it sitting there head hung lowly looking down. It must have sensed my presence looking up at me my breath hitch.

It was beautiful sliver eyes stared straight into mine. Its long sliver fur swayed in the wind. I should be afraid but I wasn't it's like I was drawn to it something pulling at me.

Slowly walking towards the wolf that sat there looking at me not making a move to run away from me. As I got closer I could see the heartbreak and the sadness in the wolf's eyes. Standing in front of it neither one moved or made a sound till the wolf leaned its head down placing its nose against my hair taking a deep breath.

I couldn't help but reach up placing both my hand on the side of its face and letting its fur run through my fingers.

Hearing a thumping I looked seeing its tail bouncing against the ground when I glanced up the sadness it once had in its eyes was gone all I could see was a relief and a happy look the eyes seem to shine.

Running my hand over its head it lowered its body to lie down.

"You are beautiful, Why are you all alone out here, are you lost?"

"I've become separated from my owner and I have been waiting for her to return for me,"

My body froze at the voice I heard I slowly looked around but saw no one, My heart started beating fast as fear slowly crept up inside of me.

"Please don't be afraid, no one will hurt you,"

I frantically looked for someone but it was only me and the wolf.

"Who is there!" I called out as I turned in a circle breathing harder.

"Autumn please calm down, come sit back by me I've missed you so,"

I Stopped spinning I realized then who that voice was coming from. Turning slowly I see the wolf staring straight at me with an amused look on its face.

"Did you... Are you talking to me?" I ask while holding a finger towards myself.

"Yes, I am,"

My eyes widened at those words,

"How? I mean how are you... wolves don't speak! Do they?"

I was feeling lost and confused this wolf is speaking to me and it knows my name.

"Not all wolves can speak with their other half, no, but seeing as we are a special pair you and I this gives me the ability to speak to you, I've waited a long time to talk with you,"

Rubbing my forehead trying to understand all this it said the other half.

"What do you mean other half?"

"Oh, my dear girl, you are my other half I am your wolf, "

My wolf, my wolf, I kept repeating those words in my head, She said she's my wolf. Like Reins said he has a wolf he shifts to a wolf I read in the book about the presence of your wolf that you get when you become of age. "Autumn I can see you deep in thought please talk to me, I've waited so long to speak with you, you can ask me anything I will give you answers,"

"I don't understand, if you are my wolf then why am I here? How come I've never heard you before, is this a dream?"

Watching as it hung its head.

"I wasn't able to speak to you before as I was forced to become dormant after the accident. You were greatly injured I had to save you I overused my powers as I was too young to use such strength, I wasn't able to heal you completely and that is why you lost your hearing," I didn't move didn't say anything I just looked at the broken wolf before me.

I could feel the regret and the loss she was feeling along with how she felt she let me down. Tears ran heavily down my cheeks at her words and the overwhelming emotions I felt. She risked herself to save me but yet she felt she didn't do enough because my hearing was lost.

Throwing myself towards her I wrapped my arms around her burying my face in her fur. I felt her stiffen but pull me closer with her head against my back.

"Please do not feel bad about my hearing not returning, You risked yourself for me to make sure I lived it cost you to be away from me, I can't thank you enough for that sacrifice," I sobbed out while clutching the wolf before me.

"I would do it again if it meant you got to live my sweet Autumn, but now I found you I will not be leaving you again!"

Pulling back I blinked through my blurry vision.

"You will stay with me?"

"Yes, I will,"

"How? Isn't this a dream? What happens when I wake up,"

Before she answered it all it hit me. The attack on my family Reins, being kidnapped that Alpha and Rachel then the other guy!

"Don't you worry about that, I'm here now and when you wake I will still be here we will return to our mate!"
