Alpha’s Rejected Second Chance Mate by Pradeep -
Chapter 61
Chapter 61
Crystal’s P.O.V.
I stared blankly at the dark sky of the night where stars were twinkling, and the Moon was yet to appear at any time. Everything looked so perfect, and peaceful, but I knew better. I was far from feeling better after hearing the whole story. I was shattered when Adam rejected me. I felt that I was the most unlucky person in the world whose mate didn’t want her.
Never in my dreams had I ever thought that there would be a person who had to reject her mate to save his life. My mother endured the pain of rejection so that her mate could live. She sacrificed her happiness and love to save his life, and who was responsible for her devastation? Her father? There were more than two father figures in my life, and all of them were doting on me. I was spoiled by them, and none of them had even raised their voices at me once. It was hard for me to accept that my mother was more unfortunate and miserable than me.
chance, and life father!
She lost her mate and didn’t even have her father’s love in her life. I was way luckier than her in this aspect. However, the Moon Goddess gave her a second
my biological her the happiness that she really deserved, but fate er miserable and full of suffering again with her kidnapping. The hardship that she had endured all her life made me feel more miserable than I was already feeling.
“Hey… why are you crying again, huh?” Theo wrapped his hands around my waist from behind and pulled me into his embrace. We were in our room in the palace. I didn’t want to stay in the hospital any longer. So, Killian made all the
arrangements here, in the palace. “Still thinking about your mother?” Theo asked me again in a loving tone, and I moved towards him.
My vision was blurred because of the tears in my eyes. I put my hands on his chest and looked at him while blinking to clear my vision. He wiped the tears at the corners of my eyes, and I saw a small, gentle, and doting smile on his l*ps. “I never regretted rejecting Adam,” I blurted out, and he raised his brows in confusion and surprise.
“Why did you say?” he asked me and I tightened my grip on his t–shirt over his chest. “I agree that I was heartbroken when he rejected me, but I didn’t hesitate to accept his rejection. I felt that he was not worthy of me. Later…. When I found you, I was afraid to lose you. I don’t want to be separated from you at any turn of our lives, Theo. I want to grow old with you, and die in your embrace,” I said, whatever I had in my mind right now.

“Hey… Relax… everything will be okay. There is no way that I will let anyone take you away from me,” he immediately comforted me, and I put my head on his chest, tightening his grip on my waist. I sobbed aloud, still thinking about my mother. “My father also did his best to keep her safe. Still, she was kidnapped, and now she has been in a coma state for the last eighteen years,” I said further, and his grip tightened on my waist one more time.
“I agree with you that whatever happened with your parents, especially with your mother, was really unfortunate. I also don’t want to go through the hardship and pain that he has been forced to endure all these years, I love you, but I am different from him. He was aware of your mother being a special wolf, and how dangerous it was for her outside the pack,” he replied to me in a determined but comforted tone, but paused in the end.
I slowly lifted my head up and looked at him in confusion. “What do you want to say?” I asked him in a confused tone. He took a deep breath and moved his face downwards to look at me. “Just listen to me carefully, love, before reaching any conclusion,” he asked me, and I nodded once in confusion. “Whatever he is going to say, I agree with him already,” Luna grumped at the back of my mind, but I didn’t pay any attention to them.
“Think about that. Both Nelson and your father knew that your mother was a white wolf. She was not the legendary white wolf, but she had some special abilities. In our world, there are so many people who are greedy for power. Still, both of them. didn’t pay attention to her safety when she was outside the pack. Both of them. knew that she was pregnant, and a pregnant she–wolf is the most vulnerable person in times of emergencies, doesn’t matter how fierce a warrior she is,” het continued, and I felt that his words made sense.
He paused and took a deep breath when I didn’t interrupt him. I wanted to hear what he had on his mind. I had an idea, but it was better to listen to him instead of playing guessing games.
“They knew about The Vampire King’s recent activities at that time. They also know that he is thirsty for power. Still, they let your mother travel on her own. To my knowledge, The Night Crawl Pack is almost at a distance of more than two days from here. It meant that she had to travel for two continuous days. Don’t you think that it’s enough time for: to get an idea about her situation so that he can strike on her?” Theo explained further and asked me in a cautious tone at the end.
I processed what he said, and nodded once in agreement. “What I want to say, my love, is that there is no way that I will show this carelessness in terms of your security when I know that there are so many vultures out there who have their
hungry eyes on you. I will like to put my life at risk instead of putting your life at risk,” he finished what he wanted to say, and I bit my lower l*p furiously.
He was not wrong, though. How did both Nelson and my father miss this vital information? I could understand Nelson’s situation, but what about my father? Why was he so careless about her safety? He said that he stayed behind to take care of Killian, but there were so many people in the pack who could take care of Killian at that time, especially Edward’s father, his beta.
He let my mother travel that long on her own when he knew that it could be dangerous for her outside the pack. She was pregnant and, of course, more vulnerable to all the dangers at that time. How could he be so careless towards his mate, and his unborn pup?
“I don’t want to badmouth your father, love. Of course, he is our elder, and we have no right to raise a question against their decision, but.” I snapped my head towards him, and glared hard, making him close his mouth before finishing what he wanted to say. “Why don’t we have the right to raise a question against. something wrong, huh? We are responsible people, and we have a pack to keep safe. We have every right to raise questions, and take action against that to stop it,” I said in a stern tone.
He sighed but nodded in agreement too. “You are right. How could they miss such vital information about the Vampire King and his schemes against my mother? I agree that Nelson was also a victim like my mother, but he loved only her all his life. How could he miss such a thing about the woman he loved the most?” I raised the question, and he pursed his l*ps into a thin line.
“I am grateful to him that he didn’t stop searching for my mother and was able to replace her in the end, but in what condition? Wasn’t that more painful than rejection. for him, huh? For the past eighteen years, he has been taking care of her coma- state b*dy. Isn’t that more painful than every other pain that exists in this world, huh?” I continued, and Theo nodded in agreement without interrupting me.
“I want to know why both of them didn’t pay attention to her safety at that time. Why did she have only ten warriors with her when she must have had a troupe with her? What was the use of having two powerful men beside you when none of them is worried for your safety?” I bombarded whatever question came to my mind with an aggressive tone.
“Calm down, my love… Calm down first…. You don’t need to be so hyper. You and Luna are still weak,” Theo tried to calm me down, but I was now fuming in anger. Both of them claimed that they loved my mother dearly, yet they failed to protect their beloved woman. For my mother, their love was nothing but a curse that put

not only her life in danger but also responsible for what happened to me.
Theo pulled me into his embrace and held me tightly against his chest. I was still breathing heavily. “Calm down, my love… Just calm down,” he continued comforting me. I felt a headache, and it made me groan in pain. He immediately scooped me into his embrace in bridal style, and I wrapped my hands around his n*eck while hiding my face in the crook of his n*eck.
I needed to talk with Killian about this matter. Our mother was still in danger, and there was no way that I would let someone, let alone the vampire king, hurt her again. We needed to do something to wake her up. “What about we go to her? We were the last living being whom she saw before losing her consciousness,” Luna proposed, and my eyes immediately lit up.
me
“I want to go to the Night Crawl Pack,” I said to Theo when he was about to put i on the bed. His jaw clenched, but he didn’t reply to me. I was restless and wanted him to say something. “Say something.” I demanded when he tucked me inside the sheet
He took a deep breath, and sat down beside me on the bed, facing me. “I agreed that both of them have been working together for the past eighteen years and have kept your mother well hidden and protected, but think with a calm mind. Based on the reports that we got from our spies about the vampire’s activities all around his pack in the past few years and also his claim that he never gave his pack members to the vampires, we still have information that his pack members went missing from time to time,” he replied to me in a calm tone.
I narrowed my eyes while processing what he said. “O Goddess…. This is really complicated,” Luna complained, but I didn’t pay any attention to her. “All I want to say is that we can’t trust his words completely. We shouldn’t take any decision on a whim, love. Let’s give yourself and Killian some time to cool off. Then we will decide what to do. We have not only the vampires but also the hybrids to deal with. Also.” He paused in the middle of his sentence.
I just stared blankly at him while blinking from time to time. “Don’t forget about Adam. If what Nelson told us is true, then Adam can be our biggest rival. He is an Alpha by blood. Alpha Blood turned into a vampire hybrid…… can you imagine how dangerous he can be now? It doesn’t matter if he has his wolf with him or not. With all the vampire’s abilities, he is a lethal weapon now,” he explained, and I sucked my breath.
I almost forgot about Adam. I hated him to the core, but I didn’t expect him to end up like this. I didn’t know why but I had this belief that he would never accept this willingly. He must have gone through a series of tortures before he gave up in the

end. “Do you have any plans?” I asked him after some time, in a calm tone. He sighed and pursed his l*ps into a thin line but didn’t answer me.
I closed my eyes and let my mind rest for a while. Theo was right. We heard their sides of the story, but it didn’t mean that we had to trust them completely. No matter what happened back then, the truth was that my mother was still alive, and safe. It all mattered to me for now. Nelson was right when he said that we are surrounded by enemies, and we shouldn’t let our guard down no matter how dear the person is.
Now I understood the unlying warning in his statement. Not only him, but my father is also under suspicion now. The only persons whom we trust are our mate. and our brother, Crystal. No matter how bad the situation gets, they will not betray us,” Luna said in a confident tone, and I agreed with her without any hesitation.
