Chapter 83

Crystal’s P.O.V.

“What’s your plan now? I am sure that Marcus now knows that Adam escaped from his dungeons, and soon he will be at our doorsteps.” Nathan asked me in a concerned but calm tone. I smirked, having a mysterious gaze.

Both Theo and Nathan raised their brows at me in surprise. “Let him come to us. I am waiting for him to come to me. Adam’s escape was just a warning for him that I will take my mother from him soon,” I said in a calm tone while looking at a blank spot in front of my eyes.

“But… are you sure that Adam is not a threat for us? He is also a hybrid now that I can say?” Nathan asked me again, and I clicked my tongue. I looked back. at him with the same smile on my l*ps. “Didn’t you notice that we both drank. from vampires in the end of the fight?” I asked him, and he looked at Theo, baffled.

“I guess this is something related to our alpha blood. If my hunch is right then. we are different from other hybrids because we are alphas. Nelson, I and Adam…. We all are alphas by blood. Nelson’s mother was an alpha’s daughter before she met his father. So, he is also a part alpha. That’s why, we are different from other hybrids,” I answered him in a calm tone.

Their eyes went wide in shock this time. “How is he by the way?” I asked Nathan when I remembered that Adam was still unconscious. “He is alright. Bernard said that he is healing just fine. There is no trace of any kind of poison in his blood,” he replied to me after regaining his composure.

I guess I should see him before calling everyone for our meeting.” I said with a sigh and stood up from the couch where I was sitting in our office. “You also need some rest, my love,” Theo said in a concerned tone while coming towards me. I smiled and put my head on his chest when he wrapped his hands around my waist, pulling me in his embrace.

“I will I murmured and closed my eyes while listening to his strong heartbeat. Luna also sighed in content. “Did you feel any threat from Adam?” I asked Luna while enjoying this peaceful piece of time with Theo. “So far. Nohe doesn’t have his wolf now, and I didn’t feel him too. It seemed that his wolf really left him after they were banished,” she answered me in a calm tone, but felt pity for his wolf.

“I too feel bad for his wolf. He did nothing wrong but paid a heavy price. because of Adam.” I said to her with a sigh. “Let’s meet him, and let me assess him. He may not have his wolf, but I still can assess him. He can’t hide. anything ulterior motive from me.” She sang confidently in the end, making me laugh this time.

“Did Thunder feel anything weird about Adam other than him being a hybrid?” I asked Theo in a tired and lazy tone, without opening my eyes. His chest rose and fell. “For now… nothing… He is amazed how Adam managed to survive the torture that he went through in Marcus captivation. He infiltrated his memories during our ride back home, and found what happened to him there. He stayed strong even when he didn’t have his wolf to support him.” Theo answered me, and I smiled bitterly this time.

After we marked each other, Theo could infiltrate anyone’s memories to know about their past. He rarely used his ability as it takes a lot of energy. “Let’s meet him.” I whispered and he just hummed in response.

I slowly moved away from him, and he k*ssed my forehead before releasing me from his embrace. Nathan had already gone out at some time earlier. Both I and Theo intertwined our fingers before walking out of the office. “What’s next?” Theo asked me in a low tone.

I took a deep breath while looking in front of me, walking beside him. “I want to bring my mother back, Theo. I am not going to give Marcus time to do something else to hurt her or us. Nelson and William will keep him busy for a few days before we attack his coven according to our plan,” I told Theo what was in my mind truthfully.

“You were so ruthless there, love. For a few seconds, I didn’t recognize you when you and Adam snarled at each other after drinking from vampires. You two were…. Were.” He paused and tightened his hold on my fingers. I looked at him with concern, and he passed a tight smile to me.

I am still me, Theo. The battlefield is not the place where we should think about being lenient, or forgiving. I am a warrior there who has an important work to kill our enemies while keeping both myself, and my fellow warriors safe.” I comforted him, but my tone was firm.

“I know, my love.. and that’s why, I love you so much. The way, you killed them whenever they approached our warriors made everything looked at you with awe. Our warriors were amazed with your fighting skills, and your

protectiveness as their Luna.” He replied to me in an admiring tone, making me smile widely.

We reached the second floor where Alpha Adrian with Luna Elena, and Mom and Dad lived now. We were at third floor. I cleared my throat, and gently knocked on the door of Alpha Adrian’s room. He gave us the permission to enter. Both I and Theo entered together after opening the door.

“How is he now?” I asked Luna Elena who was now sitting beside Adam on the bed. She looked at me with tearful eyes, and her l*ps trembled. I removed my hand from Theo’s hand and walked towards her immediately. She stood up, and I embraced her. She wrapped her hands around my waist while hiding her face in the crook of my n*eck. Right now, she was just a mother whose son went through a series of torture for didn’t know how many days.

“He will be okay… he is okay, Mom… trust me,” I comforted her in a gentle tone while stroking her back. She sobbed aloud, and I looked at Alpha Adrian who also had a painful expression in his eyes. He was trying hard to mask his emotions, but he was still a human.
