Chapter 84
Theo’s P.O.V.
“Marcus is on the rampage, and I heard that he killed all the guards of the dungeons who were on duty at that time when Adam escaped in a fit of rage. He also killed all the prisoners.” William told us in a serious tone, making me purse my l*ps into a thin line. I didn’t have any sympathy with those guards, but the prisoners were innocent.
“Any news about when he is planning to attack and whom?” Crystal asked him in a calm tone. I didn’t know what exactly was going on in her mind, but she was calmer than her usual self after the day when we discovered her being at hybrid. It seemed like the calmness before a storm.
“Not yet… he is gathering his troupes, but still there is no movement from his side related to this,” William answered her in the same serious tone. “What about his laboratories in different covens?” Killian asked us in a serious tone this time. “We succeeded to replace three other laboratories well hidden in three covens near The Royal Coven. Everything is ready to destroy them together at any time.” I answered him this time in a calm and serious tone.
“We need the serums that they have prepared and all the antidotes they have. there. We can’t destroy them.” Killian said further in a serious tone, and I nodded in response. “Our men have started replacing things there at a slow pace so that no one will doubt until we directly attack them,” I told him further and he nodded in response this time.
“Did you talk with Adam? Will he help us?” William asked Crystal this time in a cautious but serious tone. Crystal sighed and looked at me before looking back at the screen. Both William and Killian had serious faces this time. “He is still weak…. Stronger than a wolf–less werewolf, but weaker than an alpha. He also has the same cravings as me, but they didn’t feed him with vampire blood. So, his system is taking time to accept the changes.” Crystal answered him while telling them about Adam’s condition.
“Is he still blaming us?” Vincent asked, this time in a serious and worried tone. I put my hand on Crystal’s shoulder as she was sitting on the chair, and I was on the armrest. “We didn’t talk much as he fell asleep soon,” she replied to him in a serious tone, but I could feel her nervousness here. She wanted to rescue Adam only for the sake of Luna Elena. She didn’t have any intention of including Adam in our battle. To be honest, I also didn’t have any trust in that

man.
“I don’t think that it will be a good idea to include him. Although he didn’t help Marcus after his transformation, we can’t deny that he has grudges against us for what happened to him back then. He can backstab us at any time whenever he replaces us with our guards down.” Killian said in a serious
tone.
“Adam is not someone who backstabs, Killian. I… I agreed that he became ambitious and got distracted from the right path, but I know him. He can do anything, but he can’t backstab. He would love to face his enemy face–to–face instead.” William defended Adam in a firm tone without any hesitation. William and Adam were best friends for all their lives before what happened.
back then.
“Still, he decided to reject her fated mate for the sake of money and power.” Killian retorted angrily, and Crystal stiffened immediately. “I agreed with what he did wrong, but he didn’t keep Crystal in the dark about his plans. He rejected her right after he found out that she was his mate. He hurt her in the most cruel way, but that was also on the face.” William once again defended Adam, and I growled in disagreement while tightening my grip on Crystal’s shoulder.
“Everyone…. Calm down.” Crystal suddenly commanded everyone in a calm but loud tone. They all went silent immediately. I shot daggers at William through my eyes as I couldn’t beat him on a virtual meeting. She took a few deep breaths while lowering her head. “I… I am sorry, Crystal… I.. I didn’t mean to open your wounds.” William apologized to her immediately, and I saw regret in his eyes.
She slowly raised her head. “It’s okay, brother. I know that you can never hurt me, and what you said is true. Adam didn’t hide his intention from me and Rachel. He clearly told me what he wanted after rejecting me. I … I agree that he is not a backstabber.” She comforted him in a bitter tone, showing her trust in William. The regret didn’t leave William’s eyes though.
I kept on massaging her shoulder lightly to relax her and decided not to say anything right now. I decided to talk with William later. How could he defend Adam for rejecting Crystal? I sniffed when I smelled a faint, strange smell in the air. I looked out of the window and narrowed my eyes at the tree in front of me out of the window at a distance. I felt that someone was there.

“Nathan… I think someone is on the tree outside the window of my office.” I mind–linked Nathan and told him about my doubt. “On my way.” He immediately replied to me, and I cut off the mind link. Crystal and Killian, then, started discussing our plan of attack with William. I thought about something and mind–linked my father.
“Dad… where are you?” I asked him through the mind–link, still massaging Crystal’s shoulder. “I am within the training ground with Adrian. What happened?” He told me about his whereabouts first and asked me in a concerned tone. “Can you check on Adam for me, Dad?” I asked him in a calm tone. “Of course, I can do that. Your mother is with Elena and I left them in Adam’s room,” he told me and I thought to mind–link my mother.
“Thanks, Dad. I will ask
Mom about him, then.” I thanked him in a calm tone. “What happened, Theo? Did he do something?” Dad asked me in a stern tone. “No, Dad… nothing happened. Just ask the warriors to stay alert and keep their eyes on our surroundings, keeping their guards up,” I answered him in a calm tone but instructed him in the end.
To be honest, I still didn’t have any trust in Adam. I knew the old Adam who was cheerful, truthful, and helpful before going to Alpha’s Academy. I didn’t know the one who returned from Alpha’s Academy. Surely, I didn’t know whom we rescued this time.
“We should keep Crystal away from him.” Thunder murmured at the back of my mind, and I agreed with him immediately. “I guess now we need to make some amends in our plans B and C.” I looked at Crystal who suggested some changes in our backup plans.
“What do you mean?” Killian asked her while narrowing his eyes in confusion. It was the same expressions on our faces too. She took a deep breath and put. the side of his face on my wrist and on her shoulder. “According to our original plan, Cynthia and Stella will lead the team for plans B and C. But I am thinking about using Adam for our plan B. Both Cynthia and Stella are experienced fighting hybrids and they are intelligent enough to deal with Adam if he decides to go against us, or does something to hurt us.” She explained, and I grimaced this time.
“Why are you sure that Adam will help us, huh? We parted on bad terms, and he was kidnapped by Marcus after that. He was already angry with us when he left, and I… I feel that his kidnapping has deepened his wounds,” Killian questioned Crystal in an irritating tone this time.

I felt a pressure on my mind, indicating that someone was trying to mind link. I opened the mind link when I felt that it was from the family bond. “Theo… Adam wants to meet Crystal.” My mother told me in a calm tone. “Is he awake?” I asked her in a surprised tone.
“Yeah… he is still weak, but better enough to talk.” She told me in the same calm tone. “We will be there after finishing this meeting, Mom,” I told her in a calm tone. I didn’t know why I was still having this nagging feeling that we were being watched. The good thing was that this room was sound–proof, and no one could hear a thing from outside.
I glanced outside the window at the same tree once again. “What is it, Theo?” Vincent asked me, making me look at him. Crystal also looked at me questioningly. “What?” I asked him in a confused tone.
“You kept on glancing in the same direction from time to time. You are not someone who keeps on distracting like this.” He told us about his observation. in a serious tone. Crystal raised a brow at me, and I took a deep breath. This was the thing about these siblings that every one of them was keen on observation.
“You are right… I don’t know why but I am having a nagging feeling that we are. being watched.” I told them in a serious tone. “And you are telling me now?” Crystal questioned me in an annoying tone. “I asked Dad to check the tree in front of our window. So, don’t worry. Everything is under control.” I tried to assure her, but she huffed and stood up from the chair.
“No…. it’s not.” She grumped and marched towards the window. “Crystal… wait,” 1 yelled and ran behind her. At the same time, my father mind–linked me, as I had kept our family bond open. “You are right. Someone is indeed up there.” He told me, and my heart skipped a beat.
Crystal reached the window, and I stood behind her protectively. She suddenly moved her hand in a small circle in front of her. The tree suddenly shook so badly without any wind. I stiffened, and Thunder immediately went on alert mode when we heard a faint scream. There was no scent. It meant that whoever was there had masked his scent.
I wrapped my hand around her shoulders protectively when I saw two people falling from the tree. “Dad… don’t let them go away,” I instructed my father immediately through mind–link when I saw one of them stand up immediately and tried to run away. “We got them.” He answered me.

“Ba****ds!.” She muttered angrily and then closed the window.

“What is it?” Killian asked in an alert tone. “We do have some intruders. We will call you again,” I informed them while taking Crystal’s hands in mine, intertwining our fingers. “We will wait for your call,” William said in a serious. tone, and I just nodded before reaching the table.
Crystal ended the call and shut down the laptop. “Where are they?” she asked me in a cold tone while walking out of the room with me. Our fingers were still intertwined. “They are injured due to the fall, but Dad took them directly to the dungeons,” I told her, explaining the exact situation there.
“They are werewolves. They will heal.” She scoffed in disdain. I could feel her anger through our mate bond. I was also having trouble accepting the fact that someone from my pack was spying on us. “One more thing.” I suddenly remembered about Adam. She looked at me questioningly while descending the stairs.
“Adam is awake and wants to meet you,” I informed her and her grip on my fingers tightened. I could tell that she was still uncomfortable about meeting. Adam. “We will meet him later.” She answered me after some time, her tone devoid of any emotions, making me purse my l*ps into a thin line.
