Chapter 88

Crystal’s POV.

“We managed to kill all the vampires and hybrids that attacked in the wee hours. Our team took them off guard, and didn’t give them a chance to escape.” Edward told me with a victorious smirk on his face. “I am sure that Marcus is completely pissed at us. We should stay prepared for the next attack,” I answered him in a serious tone though.

“You are right, Crystal. This is just the beginning. I was waiting for Marcus to show up this time, but he didn’t come.” Killian said with a bit of

disappointment. “This is because our mother is about to wake up, brother,” I answered him in a serious tonc.

All of them widened their eyes in shock. I was still feeling weak, but I was more heartbroken to know what my mother and her wolf did to save me. I felt a big, invisible lump form in my throat, making it hard to gulp down.

“What are you talking about, Crystal? H.. how did you know that… that… she is about to wake up?” Nelson asked her in an excited and worried tone. My father had a strong grip on his emotions, but right now, he was just a mate who was worried for his mate’s safety.

“I am telling you what I feel….. Dad.” I answered him in a choked tone this time. I decided to stay strong and didn’t shed a tear, but I felt my chest. completely stuffed with guilt and helplessness. She was in that state because of me. She spent eighteen years of her life in a coma because of me.

“Crystal… what are you hiding? Tell us, love… you know that you always have our support, right?” William asked me in a worried tone this time, and tears. fell from my eyes. Theo wrapped his hand around my n*eck from behind, and a sob escaped from my l*ps.

“She…. She… made her wolf leave her to protect me, William, when she needed. her wolf the most.” I blurted out what Luna told me about our wolf mother and her sacrifice. “What?” all of them yelled in shock. Killian went pale by my revelation. I shook my head furiously while holding Theo’s hand tightly to get some strength.

“Yes.….. She… she bound her wolf to my soul so that she could keep me safe. Her wolf…my wolf mother… stayed trapped inside me all these years, keeping me

safe from all the dangers until Luna surfaced. She couldn’t return to her b*dy because she is in a coma,” I told them while wailing aloud.

There was a thick silence on their sides, as none of them was in a state to even utter a word. “I… I… am the reason th.. that she is in coma… I.. I am the reason that she couldn’t fight tha… that b****d… she… she was ready to sacrifice her life for me, Killian…. Our mother… she d.. did everything to keep me safe… I.. I am responsible th.. that you didn’t get y.. your mother’s love when yo.. you needed her the most.” I continued to cry bitterly while blaming myself for everything.

“I dare you to say that again, Crystal. Nothing that happened to her is your fault,” Killian immediately scolded me, and I shook my head furiously. “One more curse to yourself, and I swear to the Goddess, that I will come there, and beat you, Crystal,” he warned me again in a stern tone, but I saw tears in his

eyes.

“I am sorry, brother.” I apologized to him immediately and closed my eyes. “You did nothing wrong, kiddo…. Killian is right. Nothing is your fault. Our Queen did everything that a mother can do to protect her child. She was just at mother who wanted to keep her daughter safe from all the dangers. Don’t s ruin her efforts by blaming yourself,” William comforted me in a light but serious tone.

“If… if Catherine is about to wake up… th.. then we should hurry and

implement our plan,” Nelson said in a worried and fearful tone this time. “He needs your support right now, love. You have to stay strong for him.” Theo comforted me through our mate bond and asked me to stay strong through the mind–link.

*Killian is right, Crystal. I am your father… yet I was willing to keep our relationship secret to keep you safe, my love. This is what parents should do to keep their kids away and safe from all the dangers lurking around them. You did nothing wrong,” Nelson comforted me this time, and I sobbed aloud.

“Nelson is right. Instead of blaming yourself, you should now think about how to get her out of that palace, Crystal?” Vincent said in a serious tone this time. I took a deep breath and gave myself a few seconds to gather myself once again. “They are right, Crystal. We need to get our mother back. We don’t know what he will do once she wakes up.” Luna asked me this time in a worried tone.

I slowly opened my eyes and wiped my face with the back of my hand. “I

guess… it’s time for us to implement plan A,” I said in a serious tone while taking light hiccups. “Just give the instructions, love, and we will do everything. to get our queen back,” William said with determination, and a small smile appeared on my l*ps.

“Marcus needs more other creatures to rebuild his army of hybrids. In the past two weeks, we killed more than two hundred hybrids, and the number of kidnapping cases had also decreased drastically during this period because of the vigilance and the tight security system that most of the packs around us have implemented to keep their packs safe. It means that he has no means to produce more hybrids,” I said in a serious tone, and they all nodded their heads in agreement.

“After yesterday’s attack, I am sure that his own army is in a mess right now. This is the perfect time to surround him from all sides,” Killian said further in a serious tone, and I nodded in agreement. “I destroyed both the covens. where he was running his laboratories in secret. He has no place to take more experiments,” Nelson informed us and a sinister smile appeared on my l*ps.

“Let’s do this now,” I said in a firm tone, and all of them looked at me with a surprised gaze. “Now?” William asked me while raising his brows in surprise, and I nodded in response immediately. “Yes….. Let’s attack him now and bring my mother back,” I said further, but raised my brows questioningly when they all looked at each other.

I looked at Theo and who also had a cold face right now. “What is it, guys?” I asked them but none of them said anything. “It’s not that easy, Crystal. You- don’t know him well,” Nelson answered me and I scoffed. “Do I really need to know him, Dad?” I asked him in an aggressive tone.

“Yes, my dear…. If you want to defeat your enemy without getting hurt, you must know him, You must know all his strengths, and all his weaknesses so that you can use his weaknesses in your favor and can use defensive measures to protect yourself from his strengths,” he answered me, and I chewed on my inner cheeks.

He was not wrong, though. This is the first lesson that Alpha Adrian taught me when he started my training back then. “He can’t create an army in two or three days, Love. He needs at least fifteen days to get satisfactory results from his experiments on them. Let’s work on hitting his weak points to make him weaker first,” William said in a calm tone this time.

“I will hack the security systems of all the covens to get their security

measurements so that I can replace the loopholes in them,” Vincent said this time in a calm and serious tone. I sighed in defeat and looked at them blankly while tilting my head. “Do you also think that we should wait for a few more days?” I asked Theo through the mind link.

“Yes, my love… we are still not prepared for a complete battle. All our plans still have some flaws, and we can’t risk so many lives just like that,” he answered me in a calm and loving tone.

“Okay… let’s start making him weak then. Dad,” I said to them in a defeated tone and I called Nelson in the end. He raised his brows at me questioningly.

“Send me all the data that you have on Marcus so that I can study him. Don’t refuse because I know that you have the information,” I asked him, and I also warned him immediately when he was about to deny it. I might not have known him all my life, but I knew him enough to be sure that he had gathered as much information as he could on Marcus.

I grimaced when the rest of them put their hands on their mouths to suppress their smile. Nelson glared at them too. “Okay, honey…. I will send it to you in a few minutes right after this meeting,” he answered me in a defeated tone, and a smug smile appeared on my l*ps.

“Find the weak covens and destroy them,” I instructed Nelson, making him knit his brows in confusion. “Why is that so?” Killian asked me in a confused tone. “Because he will turn to his own species if he doesn’t get the werewolves,” I told him what I had in mind.

“Th.. this is insane. He… he will not do this,” Vincent exclaimed in disbelief, and I scoffed. “And why not?” I asked him arrogantly. He opened his mouth to say something but shut it again when he didn’t get any answer to my question.

“He is a maniac, Vincent. I… I may not know him well, but understood one. thing abo

him,” I replied to Vincent and paused at the end while looking at him with a stern look. “What?” Killian asked this time. I took a deep breath before looking at Killian this time. “He cares only about himself. All these years, he used both his people and werewolves solely for his own benefits, and to fulfil his own desires. He needs an army of hybrids, not vampires,” I answered him in a calm and firm tone.

Suddenly, a wave of pain hit my chest hard, making me grab my chest tightly..

“Crystal,” I heard all of them screaming my name in panic, but the pain was so intense that I couldn’t register their voices. Theo immediately held me tightly, and the next second, I was floating in the air.

“Aaahhhh,” I screamed aloud when the pain intensified once again, but Theo secured me in his embrace. I didn’t need to call Luna for help, as she had already started absorbing the pain. We were weak due to the frequency of these waves, but we refused to give up.

Theo put me down on the couch and held my hand tightly while putting his other hand right over my chest. I felt that someone was ripping my heart out of my chest mercilessly. “Everything will be okay, my love… you will be okay,” I heard Theo comforting me in a loving and gentle tone. I felt him absorb the pain too through our mate bond.

“No…. leave… leave,” I screamed in panic while trying to move his hand away from my chest, but he didn’t move his hand. “Aaahhhh,” I screamed once again while arching both my back and my n*eck. Something wanted to get out of my b*dy very badly, but it seemed that a force was preventing it to come out, making it try–hard, resulting in an unbearable pain erupting from my chest.

Soon my vision started turning black again. “Sleep now, my love…… you will be okay when you will wake up,” I heard Theo comforting me once again in the same tone before I fainted. I didn’t know for how long I would be able to bear this pain, but I needed to do something very soon…. Not for me… but for Theo…. He always exhausted himself with me whilst trying to absorb as much pain as he could.

The resolution of making Marcus pay for every pain that he forced us to suffer became stronger in my heart, but first, I needed to think of a way to ease this pain….
