Chapter 87

Theo’s P.O.V.

“I am sending a group of hundred warriors to the Royal Pack now with. Vincent. Nelson is also sending a troupe of warriors from his pack for both my and the Royal Pack.” William told me in a calm and serious tone. “We need to keep our guards up, William. Marcus is so cunning that we can’t trust his words.” I replied to him in a serious tone.

“I know, Theo, and that’s why, I have instructed everyone to stay alert. I also informed my neighbouring packs that we could be attacked by vampires at any time,” he answered me and I took a deep breath. “I am sure that Marcus. will try to approach the Rogues‘ leader on his own now as we have already killed his helper.” He continued in a bitter tone.

Adam was now better and had a calm expression on his face after pulling all his pain out of his chest two hours ago. He was now resting on the couch, as Crystal was still sleeping on the bed. He told me that he had all the abilities that a pure–breed vampire has. When I asked him how it could be possible, he told me that Marcus also didn’t know about this. He now wanted to see if Crystal also had the same traits as him or not.

“Here is the thing, William.” I answered him in a serious tone while taking a deep breath. “What is it? Did I miss something here?” he asked me immediately. I looked at Crystal’s sleeping face. She was still unconscious but was looking better than earlier. I wanted her to open her beautiful eyes again. and smile at me, but I didn’t know if she would be in pain or not after waking. up.

“Ruben was also the rogues‘ leader,” I told him truthfully. I heard a gasp from his side. Crystal went through the data and records that we found on Ruben’s computer and in his office this morning after we secure our borders first. She found out that Ruben was the one who was looking for the rogues all these years, and recruited them to do his jobs. He also supplied the stronger ones to Marcus so that he could experiment with them, and turned them into hybrids.

“That son of a b***h.” William spat angrily. “We will discuss this later, William. At first, we need to ensure the security of our pack’s first,” I said further to him in a serious tone. “Yeah, you are right. I will call you in the morning then,” he answered me, and I just sighed internally.

“Theo.” He suddenly called my name when I was about to hang up. I once again put the phone back on my ear. “What is it?” I asked him in a light tone this time. “Where is Crystal?” he asked me in a serious but worried tone. I immediately looked at Adam who also looked at me at the same time.

He raised his brows questioningly, curious to know what I am going to say to William. “She is also busy with … with Alpha Adrian and my dad, William. You know that she is the security head here,” I lied to him, feeling a pang of guilt and pain in my chest.

“You are the worst liar, Theo.” William roared angrily, taking me off guard.

Adam scoffed while asked me in a stern tone. “Why d

you call

Crystal. “Where is she?” me a liar, huh? When did I lie to you?” I asked him in an annoying tone instead of answering him about Crystal’s whereabouts.

“She is not only my sister but a daughter to me, Theo. I know… I have this gut feeling that… that something happened to her, and… and she is not well… Now. tell me truthfully… where is she? Don’t give me any other lame excuse,” he asked me in a stern and angry tone once again.

I sighed helplessly while looking at Crystal. “You are right, William. Something happened to Crystal, but she is alright, and is sleeping right now.” I told him briefly about her present condition. There was silence on the other side for a few seconds. I chewed my lower l*p nervously while waiting for him to say something.

“I need to go now. I will call you as soon as I come back,” he said in a hurried tone. “What happened, William?” I asked him in a concerned tone. “Rogues… they are at the west border.” He told me, and he hung up right after that.

“S**t.” I cursed and put down the phone on the nightstand beside me. “You were lying about Crystal’s situation to William, huh?” Adam asked me in a mocking tone, and I glared at him. “You are his cousin and were in frequent touch all these years with them. Still, you don’t know that they have a telepathic link with each other?” he asked me in the same mocking tone, and I cocked my brow in confusion.

I didn’t ask him anything else, but I mind–linked Nathan, Alpha Adrian, and my father immediately. “Guys… The Blood Moon Pack is attacked by the rogues. Stay alert and increase the security around the border,” I instructed them in a serious tone. “We are already at the border posts, son. You just take

care of Crystal,” my father answered me while comforting me in the process.

“Thanks, Dad.” I thanked him and cut off the mind link. “What do you mean by telepathic link, huh?” I asked Adam who, once again, was looking at Crystal. He had a serious face right now, and it was really difficult to tell what he was thinking.

“Both William and Vincent knew before anyone else if something happened to Crystal back then. I asked them so many times how they knew if something bad happened to Crystal. They told me that they always had a bad feeling in their heart, and they followed this feeling whenever something happened to Crystal or Crystal needed their help.” He answered me in a serious tone, but I felt that he was reminiscing about the past.

I was really surprised to know what he told me. William and Vincent were not related to Crystal through blood, but their bond was stronger than the bond between siblings with a blood relationship. I knew this, but I didn’t know that their bond was this strong.

I looked at Adam while thinking about something. “You still blamed her for hiding her wolf’s abilities, huh?” I asked him in a calm tone. A bitter smile crept on his l*ps, and he lowered his lids. I waited for him to answer my question while trying to figure out his thoughts.

“Ask him to move his gaze away from our mate. He lost his chance with her due to his own recklessness,” Thunder grumbled, and to be honest, I was also feeling possessive the way Adam was looking at Crystal right now.

“Can you explain all the things to me?” he asked while moving his gaze on me this time. “What do you want to know?” I asked him while moving my legs up on the bed. I was sitting beside her on the bed. “Everything that she wanted to tell me. I don’t want her to go through the pain again,” he replied to me, and I nodded in response. I held her hand in mine and took a deep breath.

I, then, told him everything about Crystal, Killian, and their mother, our queen, Catherine. I left the part about Nelson being the second mate of Catherine as it was still a secret. It was Crystal’s place to tell him about that, not mine. Adam listened to me with a serious face, and I could say that he was shocked by learning everything.

“He.. he even experimented on the woman he loved?” he asked me in

disbelief, and a bitter smile crept on my l*ps. It was nothing but toxic love that.

ruined Catherine’s life completely. “It meant that we need to stay alert all the time so that he can’t reach Crystal,” he said in a serious tone, and I nodded in agreement immediately.

“If my guess is right then I, Crystal, Nelson, and Queen Catherine are the hybrids with alpha blood, but completely different from each other, right?” he asked me while making his assumption, and I nodded once again, admiring his level of intelligence.

Still, Crystal is stronger than all of us because she got those abilities when she was in her mother’s womb, and her b*dy suppressed them for a long time- eighteen years without getting the serums, which is a miracle in itself.” He continued, and now it was my turn to raise my brows in surprise. I didn’t think this way.

“He is right. Nelson needs those injections from time, and Catherine is already in the Royal Coven. Crystal didn’t get any injections all these years, and still, she didn’t need any.” Thunder said in a serious tone.

“What about you, Adam?” I asked him in a serious tone. “What about me?” he asked me in a confused tone. “For how long can you go on without taking those injections?” I asked him in the same tone, and he sighed.

“This is the thing that is different about me, Theo,” he replied to me, and I tilted my head, looking at him curiously. “I don’t need those injections to stay alive. After my first feed, which completed my transformation one and a half months ago, I didn’t take any injections nor feed myself with vampire blood to stay alive until the previous night. This is what made me different from others,” he said, finishing what he wanted to tell me, and now I was completely shocked.

Both Adam and Crystal were different in their own ways. He was right that Crystal miraculously survived all these years, making her not only different from others, but also stronger than them. Now I could understand why Marcus wanted to kill her. She was a really threat for him.

“You said that William, Vincent, and Crystal have some telepathic connections. What is it?” I asked him suddenly about the question that was lingering at the back of my mind. This was the longest conversation that I had with Adam, and I felt comfortable talking to him. He sat up this time and took a deep breath.

“The whole pack teased them for this back then. No matter how far William and Vincent were from Crystal, they always reached her whenever she was in trouble, or sad. No one bullies her because of that because they knew that her brothers would be there in no minute. They saved Crystal from getting injured so many times when she was just a toddler and was very curious about. everything that she could reach,” he answered me with a small smile on his l*ps, reminiscing about the past.

“Everyone thought that this was because of their relationship as elder brothers to her by blood, but now I could say that it was something based on the connections between their emotions. William and Vincent can still feel it if anything bad happens to Crystal. It was my sheer luck that they didn’t feel her pain when I rejected her, or should I say that she masked her pain so smartly that it didn’t reach her brothers, or else I would have been killed by them that day.” he explained further and shuddered hard in the end in fear. I smirked while thinking about William and Vincent beating him to death.

To be honest, I was jealous of both William and Vincent for having such a strong emotional attachment to Crystal. They are her brothers, but this was really something else beyond any explanation. “The Moon Goddess surely takes care of everything that can keep her safe from her enemies. But I am still scared for her,” he continued in a serious tone, and I looked at him in confusion.

“We don’t know yet if her mother’s wolf has left her b*dy or she is still inside. If she is still inside then she will be in immense pain greater than earlier when she will try to leave Crystal’s b*dy again.” He explained his fear, and I felt someone squeezed my heart tightly. “We will replace a way to ease that pain anyhow,” I muttered in a determined tone while holding her hand tightly in

mine.
