Conrad's

POV:

"Conrad, stand up, we're no match for that guy, but if we can escape ....."

Carl's anxious voice came from inside of me, his voice kept stimulating my nerves and gradually clearing my head a little.

"What about Otis if I run away, and my pride won't allow me to."

I struggled to move my paws and I used all my strength to support my body allowing me to shake and stand up from inside the yellow sand.

The damage to my insides and bones caused my vision to blur a little, and the intense, horrible pain was thrashing my soul every moment, but I was just getting my footing on the yellow sand when Kazan's huge body stepped in front of me again. "Lowly wolves are not allowed to stand in my presence, lie down!"

The cold voice that accompanied it was accompanied by the huge paws that blocked the view in front of me.

I raised my paws to fend it off, but my injured body slowed me down.

pow!

The blood flowed uncontrollably from my mouth as I was hit by another train, and then my body flew into the air again!

The sound of bones cracking inside my body was contagious, and I felt the bones in my right paw break as well.

The wind whistled in my ears as I flew a distance of over twenty feet and then slammed hard into the sand.

My eyes were covered in blood and my vision was tinged with red as I struggled as hard as I could, but this time I couldn't get up off the sand.

"What's the matter, keep standing if you have the strength, don't you want to see how strong I am?"

Kazan let out a teasing voice as he slowly made his way to my side and proceeded to stomp on my torso with his paws as if he was showing off his victory.

I tried with all my might to continue to struggle, but I was so weak that I could barely use my strength, even the energy of the wolf pearl was useless against such a serious injury as mine, and the claws he stepped on me seemed to be made of iron, squeezing my torso heavily.

"Damn you...... you monster......

The blood churned inside my throat and my voice became muffled, just as a shadow reappeared in front of my eyes.

"Shut up, you lowly werewolf!"

A great force came from my face and Kazan's voice gradually took on some resentment as my head was buried in the sand by the press of his claws, the tiny gravels burrowing into my mouth, the hard stuff nearly making me vomit.

Out of the corner of my eye I looked upwards and Kazan's expression was filled with contempt within it, as if he was looking at a piece of trash.

"Kazan...... I'm going to kill you!"

The look on his face made my heart burn with fire, the flames of anger restored some of my strength and I struggled with all my might, but Kazan's frown tightened, his face full of disbelief and annoyance.

"Why, why don't you give in, a normal werewolf should be on his knees in fear and begging for mercy in the face of a totem power more powerful than yours, why are you thinking of fighting back, why!"

Kazan increased his power as he spoke, the pain in my skin following suit, the hard gravel rubbing against my flesh and blood as if it were some poisonous insect tearing at me, my struggles were no longer working and I could only stare at him with cold eyes. "Who are you, a werewolf of lowly blood, to defy me, to not submit in the face of great power!"

Doubt and anger seemed to make Kazan lose his mind, his voice became more and more violent, then suddenly he put his claws in the gravel, and the next moment an irresistible force came from my side.

My body was once again slapped away, blood splattered out, and with the yellow sand fluttering about me, I no longer had any strength to make any move, and when my body hit the ground hard again, I couldn't even lift my head.

I breathed in the hot air weakly and watched as Kazan's massive body came once more into view.

"Tell me why you resist in the face of a power that far exceeds yours."

Kazan's angry and uncomprehending gaze swept over me, and I looked at him with my last strength in this moment, my tone held only determination.

"Because behind me...there are people who deserve to be guarded ......"

Kazan froze for a moment at this moment, some doubt appeared within his gaze, but the next moment it was covered by anger.

"To rebel against me for such a stupid reason, lowly werewolves are indeed even lowly in thought, go to hell!"

A huge force slammed into my body again, and I looked at his huge body but laughed.

"Kazan, you just have the power, you have nothing you want to guard ...... you lonely wretch."

With my laughter and the blood flowing out uncontrollably, Kazan seemed to become even angrier at my words as he attacked me with his power in a frenzy, my insides cracking inside me, bones all over my body being destroyed and my life fading away. Was I going to die, why was my power so weak, why could I not defeat this monster before me.

My vision was getting blurred, but just then Kazan's attack suddenly stopped.

"I've changed my mind, it's too cheap to let you die like this."

With that, a cruel smile appeared on Kazan's lips as he turned his head towards the guards guarding the entrance to Totem Pack.

"You guys throw this piece of trash out into the desert far away and let this lowlife die a painful death in the heat of the desert, I will make him reflect on his defiance of me."

With that said the fellow transformed into a human being and turned towards the entrance of the Totem Pack, while two guards came towards it.

"How dare this lowly fellow fight against Alpha Kazan, he is practically seeking death."

"But this guy is quite powerful, a normal werewolf would have lost his life in a flash when faced with Alpha Kazan's attack, but this guy has taken so many hits and he's still alive now."

"He doesn't look like he's going to live much longer, with so much blood flowing, I'm afraid even if the Moon God did come down, he wouldn't be able to save him."

"What a pathetic and lowly fellow, hurry up and throw him out, I don't want to waste my time on this guy."

The two guards said as they grabbed my body, while I moved towards the distance under their power.

Their appearance was a blur to my eyes and the huge wounds all over my body made it impossible for me to move a muscle, so I had to let them lead me away.

The wounds inside my body made it a little difficult to even breathe, and the blinding sunlight overhead made my eyelids heavy. Fighting Kazan reminded me of a time when I was incredibly weak, and I remembered how powerless I was as a young boy against a real warrior.

How long had it been since I had had such a feeling, since waiting for me to slowly grow into the Alpha of the pack, since getting the wolf pearls had made me more powerful again, so powerful that I didn't fear any opponent, even forgetting the most important exercise of all by just dealing with the pack's paperwork every day.

The training ground was no longer the place I spent every day, the office became the place I always went, instead Otis slowly grew up through training after training, I was not even as good as Otis.

But today I came across a truly formidable opponent, so formidable that I used all my means and used the power of the wolf pearl and could not even make my opponent suffer a little more.

I don't know how long it took, but suddenly I felt the movement around me diminish, while the voices of the two guards rang out.

"Let's just leave it here, it's far enough away from our wolves, at least it will keep the smell of rotting corpses from reaching our pack."

"I agree, all this lowly blood is coming down on me."

With the sound of the two guards' voices, my body landed heavily on the ground, the yellow gravel rubbing against my wounds, but I couldn't move at all.

The wind blew slowly across the ground, the yellow sand moving slightly with the wind, and the two guards left, leaving me lying weakly in the endless desert.

I squinted and looked with blurred vision at the sky above me, the intense light giving me a feeling of being out of touch with the earth.

If only I had exercised every day, I might have been a little stronger.

If only I had the strength to stand up to Kazan.

I craved power.

I closed my eyes as I meditated and pondered, feeling my breath very weak and my mind filled with vague visions.

Broken bones, broken internal organs, and wounds all over my body, I knew it was almost impossible for me to live with such wounds anymore. Not to mention in such a harsh environment, inside such a desert.

Am I going to die here?

Otis ......

She was still in the Totem Pack, the wolf crisis had not yet been resolved, and I had not yet seen her safely obtain the antidote.

Somehow a force appeared in my mind and the power released by the wolf beads became even stronger.

My breath never broke, even with such serious injuries, and the power of the Wolf Pearl continued to flow inside my body.

The Wolf Pearl used his power to keep me alive and keep me breathing my last breath.

Maybe I could last until I saw Otis again?

Suddenly I opened my eyes with all my strength and stared at Totem Pack through the slits between my eyelids.
