For the first time, Holger's gaze fell upon Nina, instead of Selena who was lying on the armchair. A trace of doubt flashed beneath his heart. Kind?

She mentioned this word at least three times in her few sentences. Was she worried that Selena wouldn't get the hint? What was she trying to hint her?

She had always been a humble and obedient servant, sometimes even would take in Selena's mistreatment quietly, so he had never noticed her much. However, at that moment, Holger realized that it was about time he watch out for that woman and properly look into her again.

Why did he feel like... she was trying to hint something through her words? She said it so boldly and firmly, but it seemed as if she was trying to suggest something secretly!

Although Holger wasn't sure what was going on yet, he caught sight of the image on the screen of Selena's phone as he lowered his gaze. The scene was extremely familiar, and he could recognize it even if he only saw the corner of the photo for a split second. Indeed, what else would make the woman lose her cool so badly and yell at him to go over immediately during the day?

Selena was immersed in her thoughts. She felt as if her heart had been stabbed, but she couldn't pinpoint what was affecting her so badly. The words 'kind', 'neglecting his rest and sleep', and 'look after' floated around her mind.

Was he even neglecting his rest and sleep?

Nina was the first one who noticed Holger's arrival. She looked up and greeted him earnestly with a smile, looking a little silly.

"You're here, Mr. Crouch!" she said.

"Miss Duff, look at these beautiful flowers! Master Trevor must've sent him to send you a gift!" Nina exclaimed as she approached him, looking excited.

"Leave these to me, Mr. Crouch! You may have a seat and chat with Miss Duff first, I'll make you some tea!" Nina said.

After that, Nina left, knowing the situation. For the first time, Holger felt curious as he watched her leave.

"You sure have a keen eye in choosing servants, she seems to know how to make people happy!" he said.

She sure was the perfect candidate to be a servant, she knew exactly where her place was. She knew the things that she was supposed to know, and she didn't know the things that she wasn't supposed to know! That was especially so when she was talking!

She was definitely a trusted servant in the house. Holger couldn't tell whether she sided with Trevor more or Selena more at that moment, but regardless, as a smart woman who spent most of her time with Selena, he was sure that she definitely knew about the incident between the two of them! Others could have been kept in the dark, but not her!

She was a little too smart!

Selena didn't understand the meaning behind his words. She turned around and took a glance, then she coughed lightly and said weakly, "Don't worry, she doesn't know anything, and she won't say anything!"

Even if she was to blabber around, Trevor wouldn't believe her, and Selena was still confident about that!

She was foolishly confident!

Nonetheless, Holger agreed with her words. He ended the topic and took a seat. "So, why did you tell me to come here?" "Are you asking me? She's been discharged!

You've told me to be patient and to not make rash moves, but now she's out and enjoying her life! Why didn't you tell me that she had recovered?" she yelled.

Selena yelled with a cracked voice. How did she miss out on such a great opportunity?

Holger had told her not to make any rash movements for that period of time, and the outcome was that Trevor never came to see her even once, and instead, he and Victoria just got even closer in a short amount of time! Without even blinking, Holger said slowly, "I've told you long ago that she was fine! This was bound to happen, you should've been mentally prepared!"

Selena questioned, "What do you mean? Don't forget that we..."

"You don't have to keep reminding me what I've done!" he yelled.

Holger was getting impatient with her as he continued.

"I'm not old enough to be forgetful! If you use this trick too often, it'll lose its effectiveness soon! I will try my best to do as you want me to! I can pretend not to notice what you're doing, but I will never stoop as low as you!" he said. "What did you say?" So, did he plan to only watch as she schemed against them, so that he could protect his innocence?

He could dream on!

At that instant, Selena was so angry that her veins have popped up on her hands.

As compared to her, Holger was much calmer.

"You'd better not think that you can actually control me with such a small matter! Miss Duff, you're underestimating me! If you piss me off and if our alliance breaks, I have millions of methods to make you suffer the consequences much sooner

and they'll be way wore net

than my punishments! I've served Master Trevor for many years, and he appreciates my hard work no matter what happens. Did you really think that you are still as important as you used to be, for him to get rid of his right-hand man? You're underestimating the trust and friendship between men. Don't forget, you're not his wife! The

woman that I violated wasn't Master

Trevor's wife!" he said.

Selena was furious, and she was about to burst into flames. She wanted to yell back at him, but she controlled her anger as she remembered something. She said calmly, "I want his schedule for next month! Also, I want to meet him once..."

Holger tapped his fingertip lightly, then stood up as he said, "Got it!"

Just then, he recalled something, and turned around to say, "Don't call me during daytime, we mustn't meet again unless it's necessary!"

After that, he strode away.

At that moment, Nina walked over with some tea.

"Miss Duff, is Mr. Crouch leaving so

soon? I've told you that Master Trevor is a 'kind' man that values relationships. He's concerned about your health no matter how busy he is, and he always the first to come to visit you when something happens! Miss Duff, you should trust Master Trevor, and believe in yourself..." Nina said.

The unintentional words that Nina said as she cleared the table struck Selena's heart right on what she was crucially feeling insecure about.

Without experiencing hardships, one would never know how lucky they were.

Ever since she could walk, Victoria would take a walk around the house once a day, and she felt as if her world had brightened up into vibrant colors. Seeing that her legs were still firmly attached to her body and feeling the mild pain coming from her toes was enough to make her happy for the entire day.

She walked around the yard slowly that day. After all, she was different from a normal person, and her legs hurt due to the difficulty in walking. She sat down on the swings and swung a little to take a break. As she watched the bright red sunset from the sky, she couldn't help but smiled.

"It's so beautiful..." she exclaimed.

Humans sure were capricious. After a major accident, she had become so easily satisfied. At that moment, nothing in the world was more important than her pair of legs.

She swung around with her legs lifted up, and her eyes were curved into crescents.

"What are you doing, Vicky?" a sound came from behind.

Victoria returned to her senses, and got up from the swings at once as she heard the voice. She ran over slowly. "You're back, hubby!"

Trevor strode forward and caught her in his arms. His face was pale out of worry, and he patted her bottom lightly as if he was punishing a little kid.

"How dare you run? Who allowed you to sit on the swings?" he nagged.
