Anthony?

Victoria couldn't believe her eyes. She darted around the display cabinet to see clearer. She saw a trendy woman dressed in a checkered mermaid skirt. Judging by her figure, she appeared to be young and sexy!

Standing on tiptoe, Victoria continued to peer through the sparkling clean glass windows of the shop. She focused her eyes and saw the shadows of a pair of couple interlocked in a deep kiss at the intersection. They looked like an inseparable lovebirds as they stepped into a cab together, still holding and kissing each other.

In an instant, Victoria's eyes widened in anger as she cursed under her breathe. That b*stard!

That a*shole dragged her into deep sh*t for no reason and nearly crippled her. She was forced to struggle for a few months in pain, living a life worse than death. Meanwhile, he was enjoying his life. It was obvious that he was very in love! D*mn him! He dragged her into hell, but he lived as normally as ever! How could God be so unfair? Why was a man as evil as him not being hit by car, made a cripple, and given a taste of his own

medicine?

As she played with the boots in her hand, her eyes flickered over to the flats on her feet. She could still vaguely feel something strange in her leg and feet. An unprecedented hatred instantly exploded in Victoria's heart. "What's wrong? What did you see?"

Trevor caught up with her and followed her gaze, only to see a taxi leaving slowly.

All of a sudden, Victoria was pulled back to reality. Her grip on the boots loosened and she leaned onto him saying, "It's nothing, just an irritating fly!"

She knew very well that she shouldn't hold onto the past, but the past had too much painful memories engraved in her mind. At that moment, Victoria felt selfish. No matter how happy she was then, she still couldn't bear to see him happy. The person she once adored so much in her life had become the one person that she hated the most suddenly.

The feeling annoyed Victoria tremendously.

Unconsciously, her hands fiddled with the boots again.

Trevor was confused by her behavior until he saw her fiddling with the boots. Seeing the displeased look in her eyes, he caressed her hair gently and asked, "Do you like it?"

Nodding, Victoria sighed, "Yes..."

Unfortunately, she wouldn't be able to wear heels for a long time. In fact, she didn't know if she would ever be able to wear heels again! No matter how nice they were, her own feet mattered more!

Just as she was about to place the shoes back on the rack, Trevor checked the size and summoned the shop attendant, "Pack it up for us please!"

"Thank you, sir!"

The attendant took the shoes from him cheerfully and checked the size. Then, he quickly told one of his coworkers to prepare the shoes. Panicking, Victoria raised her hand.

"Hey, I don't want it!"

She tugged on Trevor's wrist and said, "It's not like I'll be able to wear it!" She wouldn't even be able to wear it anytime soon, so what was the point of buying them?

"Even if you can't wear it, you can still look it at home! As long as you like it, it's yours!"

As Trevor said it, the shop attendant standing by the side couldn't helped but to look at Victoria enviously. Victoria proceeded to roll her eyes at him. Although she was happy, his words were so cheesy it caused goosebumps all over her. "Then, let me look at it properly first! I wasn't even done looking around. What if I replace a pair that I like

better?"

She hadn't even tried it on, yet he wanted to get it already just so that she could look at it at home. God, what was he thinking? It was not a decorative item!

"That's true. All right, we'll get it after you're done looking around. This would be the backup!"

Seeing that he was adamant about it, Victoria had no choice but to take another look around the shop. Humans were such peculiar creatures. Their hearts always desired the things that they couldn't get. No matter how many times she looked at it, she still liked the shoes there, and all of those that she liked were high-heels.

In the end, Victoria chose a pair of black leather pumps with small heels. Looking at them, she figured she'd be able to wear them next spring. Of course, she didn't forget to pick out a bag that she liked for herself. When they left the shop, Trevor was carrying the bags of items she purchased in one hand, and he had his other hand wrapped around her waist.

During the whole process, Selena's eyes were burning with anger while she looked at them. She gritted her teeth so hard they nearly chipped.

Although the day started off slightly unpleasantly, but by the time they returned home, Victoria's mood was almost restored to normal. She took out the new shoes and tried them on. After admiring them for a bit, she proceeded to strut in front of the mirror.

Seeing how easily she was amused by herself, Trevor didn't say anything. When he was about to go wash up, the screen on his cell phone lit up. He pressed the answer button and a weak female voice came from the other end. "Trevor, are you busy? Erkhem, my chest isn't feeling well. Can you go to the hospital with me?"

"What's the matter? Did you take the medicine?"

Trevor glanced at the clock on the wall and he saw that it was already past ten at night.

He remembered that he had just visited her in the afternoon, and after going out with Victoria, he was really exhausted. It was clear that he was reluctant subconsciously, and he was just lazy to go over to her. "Okay, I got it! Take the medicine first! I'll arrange forthat..."

After standing by the window for a while, Trevor turned around and sighed unconsciously. Sitting down on one corner of the sofa, he was filled with tiredness. He leaned his tall figure on the sofa and slowly closed his eyes. Suddenly, various thoughts just flashed through his mind.

"Ugh, I don't want to move. I don't want to go anywhere..."

When Victoria was done admiring herself in her new shoes, she walked out of the dressing room to see Trevor sprawled out on the sofa. Her smile froze as her heart ached, seeing his tiredness.

He must be feeling exhausted from everything that had happened lately.

Feeling distressed, Victoria turned around and tiptoed out of the door.

When she came back, she noticed that he hadn't move a bit. She placed the milk in her hand on the table and took a thin blanket from the rocking chair. She gently draped the blanket onto him but Trevor's eyes opened almost immediately. "I thought you were asleep... Did I wake you up?" Victoria whispered gently, sounding upset.

Trevor rubbed his brows and said with a smile, "No, you didn't!"

How could he sleep when he still had something to do? It just so happened that he got too comfortable when he closed his eyes and seemingly had dozed off. Subconsciously, his eyes glanced towards the clock on the wall again. Ten minutes had passed! The more time was passing, the more he didn't feel like moving!

At that time, Victoria, who was getting up to take the milk for him, didn't notice him checking the time out. "Since you're awake, have a glass of milk and then go to bed!"

After handing the milk to him, Victoria adjusted her position, knelt behind him on the sofa and proceeded to massage his stiff shoulders.

With the warm cup of milk in his

hand, and the comforting pressure on his body from her hands, Trevor's heart was instantly filled with warmth. After drinking the milk the irritation in his eyes was replaced by relief. He took her hand and gently squeezed it.

"Then I'll go take a shower..."

After saying that, Trevor got up and went into the bathroom. Standing around with nothing to do, Victoria grabbed his cup and rinsed it.

As Trevor lay in the bathtub, he arranged for medical personnel to go over to Selena's again. As he put away his cell phone, he couldn't help shaking his head again.

Why couldn't she just continue to stay at the rehabilitation centre in Korea? What on earth did she come back for? It was irritating!

There was no way he could let things go on like that!

In the heat of the moment, he made another decision!

Trevor picked up his cell phone and called Carson again, "Are there any rehabilitation centres with good facilities that are more discreet? It'll be better if it's private!"

He was busy making arrangements in the bathroom. He wasn't aware that a black car with its engine turned off, was parked on the road directly opposite his house. The dark figure in the car kept glancing towards its watch.

Half an hour later, the dim light inside the house went off, and all Selena was greeted by was a sudden, overwhelming darkness. Were the lights in the bedroom turned off? Was he resting? Did he actually go to bed? She thought to herself. Once again, he gave up on her!
