On the long and secluded path, Lauren walked her puppy. Once again, she was engulfed in an inexplicable loneliness.

Not knowing how much time had passed, her eyes absentmindedly fell on Tutu who was half laying down, beside her. She tried to smile, but her heart was overwhelmed with endless bitterness.

"Tutu, have you ever thought that one day you will live such a luxurious life?"

No matter how cute Tutu was, she was still a mongrel. She wasn't gentle and pretty like pet dogs. However, she was very loyal, much more than pet dogs.

A normal pet dog would run off with anyone it saw, but her Tutu wouldn't. Tutu would always recognize Lauren no matter how long they hadn't seen each other. If someone approached her, Tutu would always be protective and alert! As she and Tutu continued to stroll around, Lauren said to herself, "We really have rather similar experiences..."

They had entered a world they did not fit into, which they shouldn't have. They were outsiders to begin with!

However, they were also similar in the sense that they did not really have an option then!

"Actually, it's not bad to be a puppy, right?" Without the worries that human had, even though Tutu was a mongrel, it could still be happy.

Tutu was pregnant and could afford to be happy, but what about Lauren? She was also pregnant, and yet she had to endure criticism and sarcasm. Even if she tried to ignore it, she still had to endure those invisible pressures on her own.

Unconsciously, she reached out to rub her belly. Regardless, the baby was hers. Whether it was a son or a daughter, they were still related by blood.

If there was anything in the world that truly belonged to her, and would not be snatched away by outsiders, it would probably be that child.

When it came to relationships or marriage, Lauren deep down would never take the initiative to chase after the man. She had always been cold towards them.

If it weren't for Zedd's persistence in chasing her while showing her care and love, they would not have crossed paths!

Strictly speaking, the two of them got together because of their similar interests. The relationship however, felt more like a friendship. Yet, also because of that, the two were able to stay together longer. Later, as she got to know him better, she began to accept him and became very devoted to maintaining the relationship.

In the past, she had been looking forward to happiness, but everything had changed then.

At that moment, Lauren hated men. She hated men who approached her and got her into a living hell!

As if sensing a changed in her mood, a sudden soft barking sound snapped her back to attention. Lauren realized that her fist was clenched tightly and there were rare, frequent fetal movements in her belly.

Hurriedly, she unclenched her fist and rubbed her stomach gently.

'Are you able to feel my upset feelings? My baby, I'm sorry, mommy shouldn't affect you with the bad mood! No matter what, mommy will love you forever..."

As she continued to whisper at her belly, her gaze fell back on Tutu next to her. She smiled faintly. She wasn't entirely alone, and at least she had Tutu to keep her company!

"No, it's not just Tutu. There's also Tutu's puppy, Poey..."

A hint of joy appeared in Lauren's eyes as she thought of something. At that moment, a slender shadow. suddenly came into her vision. Following the dark shadow on the ground, Lauren slowly lifted her head. With that, the smile on her face froze and her whole body froze.

Vanessa?

At that moment, Vanessa stood a few steps away with her bag, narrowing her eyes at Lauren. Her eyebrows slightly furrowed. She wondered what kind of a person Lauren was, to be in the mood to walk her dog at a time like that, and she was even able to smile.

The moment she arrived, the image of a pregnant woman clumsily leading a dog in an empty yard inexplicably touched her heart which was soft deep down.

Vanessa watched her and was suddenly in a daze then.

When their eyes met, the two paused for a moment. In the distance, there was Willy, who was behind Vanessa.

Looking at Lauren from a distance, it seemed to be the first time Vanessa had looked at her with such focus. Although Lauren was unadorned and plainly dressed, she did look kind of pretty.

In Vanessa's perception, the kind of

woman who would seduce a man

should be long-haired, soft and feminine. They would look pitiful and needed others help in everything. After all, only such an appearance seemed more capable of attracting a man's attention at first sight, and creating a desire to protect them. However, Lauren's appearance was not as impressive as her aura. If one didn't look closely, one wouldn't notice the beauty of Lauren's features. She definitely did not look like the type who would take the

initiative. She exuded a cool temperament, that made her

noble.

Lauren gave people the impression of her being dignified, cool and independent. She stood out from the crowd with her air of elegance. Even when she was holding an ordinary stray dog, it did not affect her charisma at all. For such a woman, she must be arrogant deep down!

Moreover, when Lauren was being humiliated earlier, she did not retort back even though she must had felt wronged. She didn't cry or throw a tantrum either. However, Lauren was pregnant...

Why did her heart suddenly soften?

Vanessa raised her chin and squinted her eyes as she watched Tutu running around. She said pointedly, "I don't know about your taste! It's so cheap! Don't you feel ashamed to take this kind of mongrel out?" Vanessa mumbled and her voice was obviously gentler. In fact, she was very perplexed.
