Chapter 102 Anxious Disconnection

When Yvonne missed her scheduled 10 AM flight due to staying up late, she had to delay her trip until the afternoon. She knew this last–minute change could affect the impression on the other party, but she decided to meet the upcoming meeting in her best state.

On her way to the BR meeting room, she tried to adjust her state of mind, ensuring she would appear professional and confident.

In the afternoon, as Yvonne stepped into the meeting room, Steven’s smile and gaze were exceptionally friendly and eager. He stood up to greet her, carefully arranging her seat, showing his attention to the meeting and his expectations for the Caesar project.

“Miss Yvonne, I have great confidence in you. I believe Caesar will become a landmark project in Las Vegas,” Steven said firmly, his voice full of anticipation and hope for future cooperation.

Yvonne glanced at Megan beside her and smiled as she asked Steven, “Does this mean you’re willing to work with Caesar?”

“Of course, absolutely,” Steven replied without hesitation, his eyes reflecting his expectations and trust in the project’s future.

Though slightly puzzled, Yvonne didn’t delve deeper but instead detailed Caesar’s potential and advantages. Steven listened intently, clearly captivated by her description.

“Steven, if I want BR to support an independent store in Las Vegas, can that be done?” Yvonne suddenly shifted to a more challenging topic, her voice steady and resolute..

Steven paused briefly, then smiled, “Of course.” His answer showed his flexibility and his understanding and respect for Yvonne’s backers.

Leaning back in her chair, Yvonne fixed her sharp gaze on Steven, “Steven, who are you representing?” Her words revealed curiosity and vigilance about the forces behind the scenes. She wanted to uncover more about the motives and stories involved.

Steven’s smile froze for a moment but quickly regained his composure, calmly replying. “Your father, John. He has been a great benefactor to me.”

Yvonne was slightly shocked internally but maintained her composure outwardly. “I see,” she nodded slightly, beginning to ponder her father’s motives and potential intentions, knowing there might be more complex interests and relationships behind this.

Steven continued, “Initially, I just wanted to give a chance, but after hearing Miss Yvonne’s plan, I’m fully confident.” His voice conveyed admiration for Yvonne’s wisdom and decision–making skills, as well as anticipation and trust in future cooperation.

The meeting went very smoothly, with both sides discussing specific cooperation details and timelines. Steven agreed with Caesar’s market positioning and brand–building strategies, promising full support for their development plans.

Yvonne showcased excellent negotiation skills and decision–making abilities, providing clear analyses and solutions to every issue, further Impressing Steven with her capabilities.

After the meeting, Yvonne felt a sense of relief, her confidence strengthened, and she looked forward to the future cooperation. She knew today’s success was not just a reflection of her personal abilities but also the result of the trust and efforts of those supporting her.

In a dimly lit German restaurant, Benson sat quietly at an old wooden table in the corner, waiting for

Andrew’s arrival.

His fingers tapped rhythmically on the worn tabletop, each knock sounding like an urge for time to pass. His eyes quickly scanned every entering and exiting guest, filled with both anticipation and wariness.

The place was filled with the smell of German sausages and beer, mixed with occasional laughter, creating a seemingly relaxed yet tense atmosphere. The Interior was mainly decorated with dark wood, vintage German–themed paintings on the walls, and under the faint lighting, every somewhat blurred.

face appeared

At 4:30 PM, just as Benson began to feel impatient, Andrew finally appeared at the door. He walked in casually, wearing a well–tailored dark suit, making him quite eye–catching, though slightly out of place in such a secretive meeting.

Benson immediately noticed the fresh scratch marks on Andrew’s neck–a series of swollen red marks, causing Benson to chuckle coldly, “Just got out of bed?”

Andrew enjoyed Benson’s taunt.

After all, the third son of the Taylor family was cultured and gentlemanly. The intentional harm from back then had changed him a lot.

Sensing Benson’s vigilance, Andrew smoothly changed the subject, “Why did you want me to facilitate the BR project, instead of doing it yourself? Isn’t this a good way to please your wife?”

Benson’s eyes sharpened, suddenly taking out his phone and sending a photo to Andrew. “Don’t pretend. I saw Yvonne at the coffee shop.”

Andrew was silent for a moment, then forced a calm smile, “So what?” His expression was composed, but his eyes revealed a hint of nervousness.

“I’ve already sent BR’s related information to George. Seems like you knew about Yvonne’s predicament early on.” Benson’s words showed his mastery of the situation.

This conversation clearly put Andrew at a disadvantage, but he quickly adjusted his attitude, responding with a bit of wit, “A pleasant surprise indeed. Bella said she’d help if I had a way.”

Benson sneered, “Who would refuse such an opportunity? Just like when Bella accidentally entered your world back then, isn’t it interesting?”

“Stay out of this,” Benson warned, his tone cooling, his gaze carrying an undeniable threat.

Andrew spread his hands, “I won’t interfere. Besides, I’ll keep quiet, letting everyone think it’s Bella’s achievement.”

Benson stared at Andrew, trying to read more from his expression, “But she’s your wife. Aren’t you worried she’ll replace out?” His question carried deep meaning, probing Andrew’s limits.

Andrew replied impassively, “I know her. She’d willingly keep this secret for you.” The hidden complexities in this statement made Benson ponder but also accept this reality reluctantly.

Benson’s thoughts returned to Yvonne. He knew she was in Bergen now, trying to reach her, but she didn’t answer calls or reply to messages. He smiled bitterly and tossed his phone onto the desk.

George knocked on the study door from outside, “Young master Marcus seems to be going abroad.”

Benson frowned, “When did this happen? Does she know?” His heart was filled with concern and doubt about the changes coming for Yvonne.
