Chapter 171 Failed Communication

Benson looked around the room, his face dark, his gaze sweeping over

everyone present.

His eyes moved back and forth between Bella, Jeremy, and Yvonne, carrying a cold scrutiny.

Yvonne’s face was pale, but her expression remained calm. When she saw him, her face still bore a faint, indifferent expression, with no trace of emotion.

“Do you think you’re suitable for her? You didn’t even know she was this sick. Isn’t it ridiculous for you to say that?” Bella’s voice was cold, filled with

sarcasm and anger.

She was really furious.

Yvonne was this sick, yet what had Benson been doing all morning?

Leaving Yvonne alone in the hospital. If Jeremy hadn’t called her, Yvonne

would have been all alone.

The more Bella thought about it, the angrier she became. She took a deep breath, stood up, and walked to Benson, her eyes sharp, her tone hostile.

“Mr. Benson, are you angry? You don’t cherish her, but someone else does. Jeremy is not Marcus; he can compete with you.” Bella’s smile was insincere, her tone full of provocation.

Jeremy watched this scene, looking at Yvonne with some confusion and concern in his eyes.

Yvonne really didn’t want to talk, she just lowered her eyes, appearing particularly tired and weak.

Benson slowly walked toward Yvonne, looking down at her, his eyes showing some complex emotions.

Benson, after all, valued his dignity and upbringing, so he didn’t start arguing with her in front of Jeremy.

Jeremy glanced at them and sighed slightly, “I’ve visited, had lunch, and marked the unsuitable parts of the plan, Miss Yvonne.”

Yvonne nodded, indicating she understood.

Bella tactfully went to see Jeremy off. As soon as they were alone in the ward, the atmosphere became heavy.

Benson sighed, propping his hands on the bed, his tone heavy.

“Is it that if there’s an issue between us, you have to act like this?”

His voice carried a hint of helplessness and fatigue, clearly confused and uneasy about Yvonne’s attitude.

Yvonne looked up at him, her gaze still calm, neither happy nor sad.

Her face showed little emotion, as if she didn’t care about Benson’s words.

She didn’t want to explain his misunderstanding. Her attitude seemed to be

testing Benson’s patience, making him feel an invisible pre re.

“Yvonne, does this mean you agree with Bella?” Benson’s tone carried a hint of unease, sounding somewhat urgent.

He seemed worried that Yvonne might actually take Bella’s advice and choose

to be with Jeremy.

Yvonne frowned, feeling that Benson was always too forceful when dealing with their issues, not caring about her feelings.

In their relationship, she felt Benson was unqualified in handling problems this

way.

But she also felt that there was no need to say anything now, so she chose to treat it coldly.

Her attitude of shrinking into the bed thoroughly angered Benson.

“Yvonne, speak up!” he said in a low voice, his deep eyes filled with anger, gripping her wrist, making her face him.

His voice carried an undeniable command, clearly having lost his patience.

“Alright, I’ll talk,” Yvonne began, but her voice was so hoarse it was almost inaudible.

The moment she spoke, Benson could feel the indescribable pain in her throat.

He stared at her, his eyes showing a hint of heartache.

Yvonne’s face was pale, “What were you thinking when you saw my call at dawn?*

Her voice was weak but full of questioning.

Her eyes looked straight at Benson, as if trying to see through his heart.

Benson hadn’t expected her to bring this up. He just looked into her eyes, opening his mouth but replaceing he had nothing to say.

He felt an invisible pressure, as if Yvonne’s gaze was holding him tightly, making it impossible to escape.

He knew she was right; he had indeed thought that way.

Compared to Yvonne’s understanding of him, he really didn’t understand her at all.

“When you were in the next room, Benson, what were you thinking? Did you ever think I was calling for help?”

Yvonne’s voice was broken and hoarse, filled with desperate pain.

She frowned in agitation, but she kept talking, regardless of the pain in her

throat.

Benson gripped her shoulders, “Stop talking,” his voice carrying a hint of pleading.

“You wanted me to talk, and now you want me to stop? You’re really ridiculous. Don’t use your dirty thoughts to think of me. I won’t go mad easily, nor will I have my cake and eat it too, or cheat. Stop acting jealous to disgust me.

If you want me to play dumb, don’t come here acting emotional and putting on a show for me!” Her voice, though weak, was firm and forceful with every word.

After speaking, she started coughing violently. Her throat hurt so much it was painful to swallow, let alone speak.

After coughing, her eyes were filled with tears. When Bella returned, she saw Yvonne leaning on the bed, coughing so hard it was suffocating.

Bella pushed Benson aside, “Stay away from her. I was wrong about you; you’re

worse than being blind.”

Her tone was filled with anger and disdain.

Yvonne leaned against the bed, breathing heavily, trying to calm her emotions.

Her eyes showed fatigue and helplessness.

Yvonne, I can’t…” Benson tried to explain his tone carrying a hint of helplessness.

“In the past, if it weren’t for her, there might not be the current me. That fire left her alone, and I’m just trying to make up for it.“.

Benson’s voice was low, carrying a hint of bitterness.

Yvonne’s eyes were red as she looked at Benson, feeling complicated emotions of both anger and pain.

But he saved Olivia, leaving her no reason to be angry. Her eyes showed complex emotions.

“Benson, every choice follows the heart,” her voice was low, filled with sadness.

What you can’t get and what you miss will always be unforgettable.

It just means you didn’t love enough, making so many excuses!

She thought to herself, thinking how wonderful “white moonlight” is.

If he were really with “white moonlight,” he might think she was using “gratitude “to bind him.

Benson probably doesn’t even understand what he really wants.

Bella couldn’t listen any longer, “Can you just leave? She won’t get better with you here… if you have any heart, can you care for her a bit, let her recover properly!”

Her tone was filled with anger and helplessness.

Bella didn’t care whether Benson wanted to or not, she pushed him out the door.

She gave Yvonne some water, her eyes showing concern and helplessness,Divorce this dog of a man!”

Yvonne shook her head, her tone firm, “Not now.”

Bella looked at her, puzzled and confused, “You won’t divorce, and you won’t tell him the truth, why?”

Yvonne took a deep breath, her eyes showing complex emotions.

I gave him a chance to replace the right person, and he never chose. So I didn’t tell him on purpose. While I want to retaliate, there’s another reason
