Chapter 173 Urgent Departure

Benson’s words made Yvonne pause, then she calmed down.

When she asked, he remained silent. Now that he asked, she didn’t want to

answer.

It seemed they were never in sync. She got angry, felt uncomfortable, closed her eyes, and stopped talking.

Her breathing gradually steadied, but the turmoil in her mind was hard to calm.

The air in the room felt like it had solidified, su

catingly silent.

Bella, unaware of what had transpired between them, grew angry just hearing. Benson speak.

“She insisted on marrying you, blindly loved you, why do you still ask such a heart–wrenching question now? Do you have a heart?

Bella’s voice was filled with anger and reproach, her eyes reflecting

disappointment and confusion.

She stood by the bed, hands on her hips, glaring at Benson, as if to vent all her dissatisfaction and anger.

Bella’s reminder made Yvonne’s heart skip a beat.

Was he testing her? Or doubting Olivia?

Just moments ago, he seemed so certain; now, why was he questioning it?

Countless thoughts flashed through her mind, each making her more anxious and uneasy.

She closed her eyes, trying to calm herself, but the waves in her heart wouldn’t settle.

If she met Olivia, Benson should be able to sense it once he calmed down.

She did want revenge on him, but more importantly, he could save Olivia from her misery.

The man named Davis had taken advantage of the fire to fake Olivia’s death, deceiving everyone.

Olivia was not happy now.

Yvonne wished she could fly to see Olivia immediately…

But the more anxious she felt, the more she forced herself to stay calm.

“Benson, you should return to Las Vegas first. I think I’ll leave with Bella in a few days after I recover,” she said, her voice tinged with fatigue and determination. Her face was pale, her eyes showing stubbornness and resolve.

Benson came back to his senses, not sure why he had asked such a question in the first place.

He regretted not asking her when she had asked him.

“I’ll wait for you,” he said, his tone carrying a hint of pleading and hope.

“No, I really don’t want to see you right now. I’m tired,” she said, turning over to avoid looking at him.

Her back appeared fragile, yet it radiated a stubborn strength.

Seeing her pale face, still so weak, Benson felt a pang of sorrow in his heart. After a moment’s thought, he left the room.

His steps were heavy, each one filled with endless contemplation and

hesitation.

The hallway outside the room was so quiet that only his gradually fading. footsteps could be heard, echoing in the still air.

Maybe it was William’s reminder, but his certainty wavered, and he felt

confused.

At the staircase, he stopped, took a deep breath, and tried to clear his thoughts.

“I need to see Olivia,” Benson said, his tone firm and urgent.

William, catching up, exclaimed, “What, see Olivia now? That’s not easy.” His eyes were filled with doubt and concern.

The dim light at the staircase cast a heavy shadow on their faces.

Bella, closing the door to the room, muttered, “What does he mean by seeing Olivia now?”

As she was mumbling, she saw Yvonne struggling to get up and start dressing.

What are you doing?” Bella asked in surprise, her eyes full of concern and

worry.

She approached Yvonne, trying to support her, but Yvonne firmly shook her head.

“I need to see Olivia before Benson does, Yvonne said firmly, her voice leaving no room for doubt.

“Now? You’re sick. It can wait,” Bella tried to persuade her, her eyes showing helplessness and anxiety.

“I’m in a hurry,” Yvonne’s voice was filled with ur cy and tension.

Without further hesitation, she quickly changed her clothes, put on mask, and prepared to leave.

The hallway outside the room remained silent, only her footsteps echoing softly.

As Yvonne exited the ward, a chill in the wind made her shiver.

The night was getting darker, the streetlights casting a warm but dim glow, yet her heart was filled with coldness.

She ran to hail a taxi, but a car honked at her.

Turning around, she saw Jeremy asking, “Where are you going?”

“Take me to the Zoglinte Hotel in St. George,” Yvonne said as she got into the car, her tone urgent and anxious.

The soft light inside the car illuminated her pale face.

Jeremy tapped the driver’s seat.

The driver understood, “Sure, Jeremy.” The car quickly.started towards the destination.

Yvonne sat in the back seat, leaning her head towards Jeremy, “Why haven’t you left yet?” she asked, her voice filled with curiosity and gratitude.

Leaning back in his seat, Jeremy’s eyes showed concern, “I wasn’t at ease with you.”

He spoke softly, his tone full of gentle cafe. The atmosphere in the car became slightly more relaxed due to his warmth.

Yvonne smiled faintly, not minding so much now. She called Megan to ask for Olivia’s exact room number.

“Miss Yvonne, it’s not easy to meet her, Megan said, her voice carrying a hint of helplessness and worry.

Yesterday, Yvonne had called, expressing her wish to get Olivia out of that house, to see her.

Megan had tried her best, thinking of various way and only managed to cause an accident with a servant to set the villa on fire.

“I know, I’ll figure it out myself,” Yvonne said, her voice firm and determined.

After hanging up with Megan, Yvonne turned to Jeremy, “Do you have any cash?”

“How much?” Jeremy asked, curiosity and confusion in his eyes.

“One hundred thousand,” Yvonne replied without hesitation, her eyes full of urgency and expectation.

Jeremy looked at Yvonne, a slight, helpless smile tugging at his lips, “You think highly of me, an out–of–towner.” He teased, his eyes showing a hint of playfulness.

“When do you need it?” he continued, his tone caring.

“Now, if possible,” Yvonne’s voice was urgent and anxious.

“I don’t have that much on me,” Jeremy shook his head, “But we can get it at the hotel.” His tone was reassuring and promising.

“Alright,” Yvonne agreed, listening to him make the arrangements over the phone.

However, despite her rush, by the time they reached the Zoglinte Hotel, Benson and William were already entering the lobby.

The lobby was brightly lit, the light soft, but her heart hung in suspense.

Jeremy, not knowing what she was up to, saw her anxious face and asked, “Do

you still need the money?”

Yvonne stared at Benson’s back, a complex emotion flashing in her eyes, “Of course, I do…”
