Benson 174
Chapter 174 The Inescapable Cage
Yvonne followed Jeremy out of the car and walked towards the hotel’s lobby.
The mask and hat covered her tightly, but the cold wind still sent a shiver through her, adding to her discomfort.
The neon lights outside the hotel flashed as pedestrians hurried by, as if this city never slept.
Despite her anxiety, Yvonne forced herself to stay calm.
Benson and William’s arrival at the hotel lil meant they were going straight to see her.
Given the meticulous nature of that Davis man, with so many bodyguards protecting her, they surely wouldn’t allow them to see her directly.
So, for Benson to see Olivia, it would undoubtedly take some effort, giving Yvonne a bit of time.
Jeremy handed Yvonne a thick wad of cash, which gave her a slight sense of
reassurance.
The hotel manager followed them, politely and attentively asking if she needed any assistance.
The lobby’s soft and bright lighting, along with its luxurious decor, created an atmosphere of elegance.
Yvonne handed all the money to the manager, who was momentarily surprised but quickly resumed a professional smile, nodding and indicating that she could command their help at any time.
At the entrance to the presidential suite in the Zoglinte Hotel, two burly men stood guard. Their towering figures and stern expressions exuded an unapproachable aura.
William raised an eyebrow at Benson, “Your great idea is to force your way in?”
he whispered, his tone carrying a hint of sarcasm and confusion.
Benson smiled, his gaze firm and confident, “This is New St. George. If sneaking around doesn’t work, be straightforward.”
Chapter 124 The toescapable Cage
His voice was low and magnetic, carrying an undeniable authority.
William whispered, “If you meet her directly, won’t her husband replace out?” His tone was filled with worry and doubt.
“Do you think someone like Steven Davis can be fooled?” Benson calmly countered, a sharpness in his gaze.
Steven Davis was a well–known arms dealer, involved in risky businesses. Ruthless, well–connected, and resourceful. If he had placed Olivia in St. George, nothing could be hidden from him.
Olivia was his wife, and although surrounded by many bodyguards and servants, it was to ensure her safety rather thar truly imprison her.
Benson, with an air of nobility and confidence, approached the doorbell as if the bodyguards weren’t there.
The two guards exchanged a glance and asked who he was looking for.
Benson introduced himself, his voice steady and powerful.
The door opened, and the housekeeper recognizing them as the neighbors
who had helped last night, hesitated, “What do you need?”
“Miss Olivia is an old acquaintance from Las Vegas. I need to ask her
something.”
“There’s no one here by that name,” the housekeeper said and quickly shut the door, her actions swift and decisive.
Meanwhile, Olivia was sitting on the sofa, reading.
She had heard the conversation outside.
“Madam… they said they’re old acquaintances from Las Vegas.”
“Las Vegas?” Olivia murmured. It had been nearly seven years since anyone had mentioned Las Vegas to her.
Time had passed so long that she almost forgot it was her hometown.
“The ones who helped last night,” the housekeeper reminded her, her voice filled with concern.
Olivia thought for a moment. Last night had been too dark and chaotic.
Chapter 154 The tueocapable Capt
She only remembered the young man from next door who had helped, with his tall, distinguished figure, like a noble young master.
But it had been too dark to see clearly. She wasn’t familiar with them, so she doubted the claim of being old acquaintances from Las Vegas.
Steven had made many enemies in his business, and she kept to herself. However, if anyone had truly wanted to harm her, last night would have been the perfect opportunity, not a visit to the hotel.
She closed her book, adjusted her shawl, and got up to go to the door.
Her steps were light but steady, each one filled with determination.
She opened the door and saw the man leaning against the opposite wall.
His features were sharp and handsome, with an indescribable nobility about him.
She had seen him before. To be precise, she had seen his photo.
Seeing him again, he was as stunning as when they first met.
The man Yvonne liked. A complex emotion flashed in her eyes as she lingered between memories and reality.
“You… I’ve seen you before. You are…” Olivia expressed through sign language, her eyes filled with surprise and uncertainty.
A loud bang interrupted Olivia’s words–the sound of a cleaning cart crashing into the wall.
The two bodyguards looked over, their eyes filled with vigilance and alertness.
“The café downstairs,” Olivia signed, indicating that she also wanted to change her clothes.
Yvonne, crouching down to pick up the fallen items, moved swiftly and efficiently as if racing against time.
Benson and William walked past the cleaning cart, heading towards the
elevator. At the elevator, Benson looked back at the person crouching on the floor, feeling a strange sense of familiarity.
He frowned, a weird feeling rising in his chest. Was he going crazy, seeing
Yvonne everywhere?
Olivia changed her clothes, and the housekeeper asked, “Madam, why are you using sign language?”
“I just want to see if he’s worth it,” Olivia’s voice was soft but firm, as if talking to herself.
Worth Yvonne’s love? She pondered, a complex emotion flashing in her eyes.
Yvonne had told her that Uncle Henry had brought someone home, and when he woke up, he was blind.
A promising young man suddenly losing his sight must have been mentally unbearable, even to the point of collapse
Benson had become irritable because he could
accept it.
Yvonne and Olivia had been learning sign language at the time, and to help balance his mentality, Yvonne had pretended to be a mute.
If someone cared, they would have worked hard for her, at least learning sign language.
But now, he came claiming to be an old acquaintance, which puzzled Olivia.
As she left the room, she saw the cleaning lady working in the neighboring guest room. The lady wore a mask, looking at her.
When Olivia met those clear, watery eyes, she froze.
She stopped in her tracks, “Clean our room as well,” she said gently, her voice probing.
“Sure, I’ll be right there,” Yvonne replied, her voice still hoarse.
The cleaning cart stopped at the hotel door. Yvonne took out the room key and opened the door, her movements swift and nimble.
When Olivia reached the elevator, she turned back.
Her steps were hurried as if she had a thousand words to say.
“Don’t let her touch the jewelry on the nightstand,” Olivia instructed upont returning to the room, her eyes filled with caution and concern.
Yvonne was already in the bedroom, stripping the sheets..

Seeing Olivia, Yvonne didn’t waste time and asked if she wanted to leave
Steven.
Her voice was urgent and anxious.
Olivia’s eyes reddened, and she nodded gently.
Seven years, she had tried to escape countless times, all ending in failure.
If a man truly loves a woman, he wouldn’t clip her wings and lock her in a golden cage.
“If Benson asks anything, just say you don’t remember,” Olivia’s voice was low.
“Madam, are you ready?” The housekeeper entered, seeing Olivia put the jewelry from the nightstand into the safe.
Olivia looked back at Yvonne.
Having grown up together, they had a certain unspoken understanding. But Olivia didn’t understand why.
