Chapter 181 Unexpected Confession

Yvonne had just finished a long and tense meeting, glancing at the bustling cityscape outside the window.

Her thoughts drifted to her next task–store inspections.

Every store in Caesar Plaza represented the hard work of her and her team, serving as the foundation for her future plans.

Taking a deep breath, she adjusted the name tag on her suit to make sure it was straight, and then she headed alone to the bustling commercial district.

Since the management started discussing the independent store plan for Las Vegas, Jeremy had become particularly proactive.

He was sharp and capable, fully committed to any task, which Yvonne found admirable.

Even during the holidays, his all–out effort made Yvonne cut her break. short and return to work.

She knew her position required proving her worth through tangible results.

Pushing through the crowd, Yvonne entered the busy Caesar Plaza.

The polished marble floors reflected the colorful lights of the stores, while busy shoppers and courteous staff filled the space.

She felt a mix of nervousness and excitement.

Yvonne’s steps never faltered as she meticulously checked each store’s sly checked each store’s display layout, employee attire, and customer service quality..

Her keen eyes missed nothing, aiming to correct every shortcoming.

During the inspections, Yvonne’s phone hardly stopped ringing.

Most calls were from Jeremy, who always offered constructive suggestions on various details.

Initially, Yvonne maintained a professional distance, but after the help in St. George, her view of Jeremy changed.

Now, their conversations weren’t just about work but also about personal

matters.

Sometimes, they even shared private jokes, adding some lightness and joy to their heavy workload.

Although the store inspection process was orderly, Yvonne couldn’t relax.

She was acutely aware of the weight on her shoulders–proving her value through hard work and results.

Throughout the busy schedule, she held herself to high standards, paying. detailed attention to every potential error.

Finally, after a long inspection, Yvonne felt slightly exhausted.

She stood outside a store, observing customer reactions and noting areas. for improvement.

Just then, her phone rang again, and she answered it to hear Jeremy’s familiar and slightly concerned voice.

“Yvonne, you must be tired. I’m waiting for you in the lobby with a hot mocha coffee. Come and relax for a bit.”

Jeremy’s gentle and sincere voice brought a touch of warmth.

Yvonne felt a warmth in her heart and quickened her pace towards the lobby.

She looked forward to sharing this brief moment of leisure with Jeremy after a busy day.

This wasn’t just a work break but a rare emotional exchange between two like–minded people.

Yvonne arrived in the lobby and saw Jeremy with the coffee.

The rich of the chocolate cream on top brought a sense of delight.

“Thanks, Jeremy,” she smiled, feeling a touch of warmth.

Jeremy stood in the lobby, his handsome face and tall figure drawing the attention of many passersby.

His exceptional demeanor made him stand out in the crowd.

Despite the attention, Jeremy ignored the surrounding gazes, his long, almond–shaped eyes focused on Yvonne.

“Anything important?” Yvonne tilted her head and asked softly.

Today, she wore a brown suit with matching trousers.

Underneath was a simple white crew–neck top, and around her neck, she wore a minimalist necklace. Her long, curly hair lazily draped over her shoulders.

Her beauty and elegance outshone even the model in the nearby store’s advertisement.

Jeremy once joked that Caesar didn’t need a spokesperson–Yvonne was the best one.

“I think you know why I’m here,” Jeremy smiled.

“Oh,” Yvonne replied, “I guess you also know my attitude.”

Her tone carried a hint of playfulness and firmness.

Jeremy suddenly laughed, his smile tinged with helplessness and admiration.

“Dealing with you is quite refreshing,” he said.

Yvonne’s straightforwardness could be overwhelming, but it was this candor that made interactions with her so light and enjoyable.

“I’ll keep it up then,” Yvonne laughed, her eyes sparkling with confidence.

Jeremy had an evening flight back to Hoboken. In the afternoon, Yvonne discussed some details with him.

After their discussion, Jeremy said to Yvonne, “You’re too busy. You need to hire more people and focus on decision–making. Just listening to reports will be easier.”

Benson had said something similar to her before, but their relationship was strained now.

Her trip to St. George had given her different thoughts. She always wanted to connect with Raymond, but it kept getting postponed.

“Yes, I’m looking,” Yvonne replied casually, already having headhunters looking for high–paying candidates.

“Shall I drive you to the airport, Jeremy?” Yvonne asked.

“Sure,” Jeremy agreed happily.

At the airport, Yvonne wore a black coat and waved to him.

Jeremy, pushing his luggage, was about to enter the gate when he looked back at her.

She was on the phone. When she noticed him looking, she smiled.

The sky over Las Vegas had darkened, streetlights illuminated, and their glow on her face made her look particularly enchanting, as if she were sparkling in the light.

Jeremy suddenly felt she was so attractive, he couldn’t take his eyes off her.

He walked back to her, and Yvonne was slightly surprised. She told the person on the phone, “I’ll call you back.” Her tone carried a hint of surprise and curiosity.

“What’s wrong?” she asked, her eyes filled with inquiry and concern.

“The BR project’s progress didn’t need me personally. I took over Old Xu’s task because I wanted to see you,” Jeremy said with determination and honesty.

Yvonne looked at him, her face calm but with a trace of surprise in her heart.

Jeremy’s directness caught her off guard.

“I…” she began but was interrupted by him.

“Yvonne, listen to me,” Jeremy’s voice was low and gentle.

“I, Jeremy, consider myself quite smart, with some career success. In these years abroad, I’ve met many people and had a few relationships, but they always lacked something. This afternoon, watching you, I realized that the person I like looks exactly like you.”

His sincere and passionate gaze made Yvonne’s heart flutter.

“Although I know it’s inappropriate to say this now, feelings can’t always be restrained. I want to respect my feelings and tell you, Yvonne, I like you very much.”
