The entire hall quietened down.

All eyes were focused on Rachel Grey.

Who would have thought that the woman who was “besieged” by the Smith family was the head of theGlamour Pavilion?

It was no wonder Mr. Griffin’s attitude towards her seemed unusual. Now, Rachel’s unfazed attitudemade sense since 1.91 million dollars was just pocket change to her.

Now that they thought about it, the scene of the Smith family ganging up on her earlier was simplyridiculous.

David Jones, who was leaning against the door, raised his eyebrows in surprise when he heard Mr.Griffin’s words.

His gaze passed through the crowd and landed on the slender figure who was sipping tea on a chair.His eyes narrowed slightly, and the smile on his lips revealed a hint of mischief.

In the crowd, Olivia Cruise’s pupils constricted as she looked at Rachel in disbelief.

“That’s right. Even if the two of you colluded to fool us, you should at least come up with somethingmore believable.”

“We know very well about her background. Do you think you can deceive us this easily?”

They were all doubtful of Mr. Griffin’s identity.

“All of you, shut your mouths! Don’t you think you’ve caused enough trouble?” Old Mr. Smith roared.His piercing gaze swept across the people behind him and he said in a low voice, “Apologize to MissGrey this instant!”

“Dad, what are you talking about? Why should we apologize to her?” the second aunt was the first tovoice her doubts.

In the end, Rachel was just a girl from the countryside. Even if Rachel became the head of GlamourPavilion, she would never apologize to Rachel.

If word got out that she did apologize, she would become a laughing stock!

Mr. Griffin fiddled with his watch calmly and said casually, “The conduct in which the

“You can even do such ungrateful things. What’s bullying to the Smith family!” A cold voice suddenlysounded. It seemed to have a chill that penetrated one’s heart. The cold temperature suddenly loweredthe air in the room, making one tremble.

Hearing the familiar voice, Rachel suddenly turned around and was met with David standing not faraway. Panic flashed across her eyes.

Did he see everything that happened just now?

All women hope to only the person they liked their beautiful side, and Rachel was no exception.

She didn’t want David to see her cold and heartless side.

The man seemed to have sensed the panic in her heart. The corners of his lips curled into

a gentle smile. He mouthed with his thin lips, “You don’t have to be afraid with me around.”

“Who are you?” the Smith family’s second aunt looked at David with hostility.

“Her supporter!” The man had thin lips, and his tone was as apathetic as he looked.
