Billionaire's Regret
Chapter 40:

Aaron step through the front door. He head towards the sun room. He carries as usual a vase filled with roses. He smiles as he step through the door into the room.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Gregor ask. He instantly seems uneasy. He finally realized that he was truly looking into the eyes of the man who keeps destroying his well laid plans.

"I live here." He said smiling. He carefully places the vase in front of a stunned and silent Annie.

"What do you mean?"

Aaron sits down at the table. He nods his head for the servant to pour him a cup of coffee.

"What is so difficult to understand sir? You may have used your men to throw me out. It took me a moment before I understood my déjàvu memory. Thanks to you I come to a very specific conclusion." He smiles again reaching for his cup. "What are you mumbling about?" Gregor sound and look defensive.

Aaron notices the small beats of sweat covering his forehead.

"Where should I start? The truth is so much better. Well, as we all know I am married to Annie." He smiles looking rather fondly at her.

"You are no longer married to her." Gregor said shortly.

"Well now, that's where you are mistaken." He smiles looking at Annie again who looks pale in shock realization as to what she was just hearing.

"What do you mean Aaron?" Gregor look worried.

"We are still married and not the fake one you thought you managed to get away with. Annie Black Casey is my wife."

"You can't be. You sign the documents." Annie looks pale.

"I know but Gregor haven't taken a proper look at my signature. That certainly wasn't a very good move."

Aaron sits back in his chair openly enjoying their shock.

Gregor Damian slowly stood up from his chair. It was very obvious that he was worried. The sweat keeps forming on his fore head.

"Do you know what you did, fool?" the man asks through gritted teeth.

"I do sir. I managed to stay married to my wife." Aaron smile looking pleased. "We did vow for better or worse. I won't say we are either but there certainly is room for improvement." "You...you can't stay married to Annie."

"I disagree with you sir. I take my vows very serious."

"Aaron..." it was clear the other man was searching for words. It also appears as though he might burst with building frustration. "I demand that you divorce Annie immediately." "Give me a very good reason why I should sir?"

"You don't love her. You can't even support her financially. I especially want you out of my house. You have been free-loading long enough." Gregor said with conviction. "Ah yes, now that you mention this. I must firstly admit that you did me a favor."

"What are you talking about?" Gregor looked openly confused. "I don't understand." He sits down slowly. His whole body feels weak with the shocking trend of conversation.

"I am worried about you two. It seems neither of you have an appetite. I hope I am not the cause of this." He reaches and took hold of a muffin. He sits there eating it with satisfaction. "What did you expect Aaron?" Annie finally managed to replace her voice.

"Why don't the two of you join me in the rose gardens?" Aaron stood smiling as he waited for them. "I will give both of you a moment. It's clear you two need to talk." He smiles as he left them alone. "Annie, I am warning you. Remember what's at stake here." Gregor look shaken.

"I don't want to stay married to Aaron." She said urgently. She vents her frustration by swiping the vase from the table. It shattered into pieces.

"I wonder what has gotten into him. He seems different."

"I don't care."

"You should be worried. You are a bloody bitch. Let's go and hear what Aaron wants for your freedom." Gregor start to walk towards the door. He was a worried man but uncertain as to why. "Aaron acts differently. I have a feeling we should be careful."

"Aaron..." Annie calls annoyed.

"Here I am." He makes his appearance. As usual he was holding a sweet smelling pink rose in his hand. "This is for you."

"I don't want a bloody rose." She slaps his hand away. "I want you to stop this nonsense right now." She said shortly.

"What are you saying Annie?"

"I want you to sign the divorce documents. I want you to do this right now." Annie moved into his personal space. She starts to hit his chest to emphasize her demand. "I don't want to leave you my dear."

"Enough, Aaron," She hit him again.

"Annie..." He suddenly raises his voice the look in his eyes very serious. "Behave yourself and stop hitting me. Your behavior could have serious consequences for you." Annie looked confused. She now just realize she has been living with him for months but not once did he ever raised his voice to her. She just looked at him...puzzled... "Gregor, I have a couple of questions for you. If you know what's good for you; you will answer me."

"I have nothing to tell you."

"A couple of days ago I would have believed you. This here and now is completely different."

"What are you saying?" Gregor looks confused and worried.

"Thanks to you I am curious about a memory that just returned." Aaron smells the rose in his hand enjoying the fragrance.

"Stop your nonsense. Tell me what you really want."

"Good. Let me get to the point. Where is my mother?" he asks pointedly. He watches the other man turn pale.

"How the hell should I know?"

"Okay, you still like playing games with me. In truth I am puzzled why I allowed you to treat me like a fool." "That's your own bloody fault."

"Maybe," Aaron smiles looking directly at his wife,

"There is nothing shameful working with your hands. Did you know it gave me clarity and an opportunity to discover a truth or two? Another thing it never even occur to you to see the beauty in what I created." "It's a stupid garden, Aaron." Annie exploded.

"There is must more to it then you can imagine. I told both of you I am working on a plan." Aaron smile looking hopeful towards her.

"You live in a fantasy world Aaron."

"Fantasies can become reality, Annie. You once told me to immerse myself in your creative world. I did and decided to combine what you have written."

"I had enough of your foolishness. I want a divorce." Annie said in a tone of finality.

"Aaron, are you going to comply?" Gregor asks quietly.

"I might consider it but I have a few questions." He smiles as usual.

"What is it?"

"I know I am slightly older than Annie. I know she grew up with her mother. I know that she mostly lived in Cape Cove." Aaron looked at both.

"What is your point?"

"I told you before that I am remembering my past. I don't know how you managed to erased my memory. What I do remember, I had a throbbing headache and a strange aftertaste in my mouth." "I still don't understand what this has to do with me?"

"Why did Thom Black throw me out of a mansion I didn't even know or remember living in?"

"What the hell are you talking about?"

"Why did my Mom tell Thom I attack her?"

"I don't know what the hell you are talking about, Aaron." Gregor said with fury flashing over his face. "I heard enough of your nonsense."

Aaron suddenly stopped smiling. He stood right in front of Gregor Damian his expression cold. "Tell me the truth or you are going to regret this."

"Aaron, stop this." Annie suddenly stood in front of him with tears in her eyes. "I want my son. Let me go please. You managed to divorce me once, do it again?"
