Billionaire's Regret
Chapter 47:

"Annie,"

Aaron went in search of her. Once she finished the one-sided conversation she simply rushed inside. He picked up the phone and quickly went through her contacts. He noticed there wasn't many numbers but those he noticed seem important. He has noticed a name saying Hanna.

He stood still a moment trying to remember why it sounded familiar but he has no clue as he was making his way inside too.

"Where are you Annie?"

"In here," she called from the direction of his study. He frowns replaceing her there with the same expression.

"What's wrong?" he asked.

"This isn't my study." She said puzzled.

"I know. It's mine. Since when do you have a study?" Aaron tries to rub the cobwebs from his memory. This inability not to remember was driving him crazy.

"Well according to that woman on the phone I do have one. She wants my signature on the contract."

"What are you talking about Annie? I am you Boss and I don't know anything about this."

Aaron frowns heavily. A vague thought slipped into his mind that his main office is in the city. He starts to look around for his own phone. He noticed it at the edge of his desk. He moved closer and grabbed hold of it. He noticed several calls from Zac.

"This is odd," he quickly redials the number. The phone just keeps on ringing.

"I need to take a shower. Annie call the pilot. I want him here in half an hour. I think Zac has done something stupid again." Aaron was on his way towards the door.

Annie just stood motionless in the middle of the study. She slowly turns around totally unsure what to do. She suddenly looked at her phone searching her contacts. She quickly call her mother's number.

"Is something wrong Annie?"

"Hello Mom,"

"What's going on Annie?"

"I am not sure Mom,"

"Where are you?"

"I am with Aaron at the mansion. Leo is also here but I think something is wrong."

"What do you mean honey?"

"I don't remember things Mom."

"Wait there Annie. I will ask James to drive me over."

"Who is James?" Annie frowns deeply.

"Don't move Annie. Keep a close eye on Leo too." The line went dead.

Aaron step from the shower dripping wet. He went directly to the mirror and looked at his body. He saw the old scars that have healed but he doesn't remember where he has gotten them from. He slowly walked to the bed and sit down. He tries his best to think but nothing comes to mind.

He suddenly frowns when the landline rings on the drawer in the corner of the bedroom. He quickly went and answers.

"Hello lover, are you still coming into the city?"

"Who is this?" he asked sharply.

"Really Aaron, are we still playing this stupid game. Why don't you just dumped Annie and get it over with?" the woman said clearly annoyed.

"Where are you now?"

"I am at the hospital Aaron. I am waiting. You did promise a weekend away." She suddenly purrs. "Where are you now?" she suddenly asked suspiciously. "In Cape Cove,"

"Okay, I will tell Zac to arrange with the pilot. It's a good thing you have finally allowed someone else to fill in when you need a break. Really what's the point of being a billionaire and not enjoy what you have worked for." "I am waiting for the pilot."

"Aaron I love you. Now just get rid of Annie Black."

Aaron quickly dressed and went back to his study. He briefly wonders where Annie might be. He switches his computer on and did a quick search about himself and Annie. He was very surprised when he discovered that Annie Black was a fun- loving children's book writer. He quickly read whatever he could replace about her. He noticed that most of the few articles never mentioned that she was married. This really puzzles him.

"Okay, but I know for a fact that I am married to her. Someone is playing games with both of us." He quickly did research about himself. He frowns when he didn't replace much only that apparently he was a very secretive billionaire. He noticed a beautiful woman beside him. This person clearly wasn't Annie. "Doctor Grace Stevens," he read out loud.

"What the hell is going on here?"

The sudden approached of the helicopter made him get up. He reaches for his wallet. This again makes him frown. Earlier when he was in the study there was neither wallet nor the sets of keys.

As he step out the front door he noticed Annie circling the garden. He quickly walked closer.

"Annie,"

"Are you going somewhere?" she quickly asked.

"I am going into the city."

"Okay, but how are you getting there?"

"My pilot is on his way. I am not sure how long I am going to be away."

Annie just stood looking at him now with her arms across her chest in a kind of protective gesture.

"Annie..." he suddenly step closer to her. He reaches out and pulled her into his arms. He just holds her. He suddenly feels the shudders going through her frame.

"Why are you cold?" he asked surprise looking into her face. HE noticed the unease and fear. "Annie, what's going on?"

"I just feel afraid."

"I need to leave but now I am worried about you. Do you need me to call someone?"

Aaron suddenly hears the voices of children coming this way fast. HE noticed his son was running ahead. It's clear the boy is his son but he can't seem to remember anything vital about him. "Annie, promise you will be okay?"

"Sure," she steps away from him.

Aaron wants to pull her back into his arms but the need to know about the scars on his body was much stronger.

"Please, don't leave the mansion. I am not sure how long I will be in the city." The fast approaching helicopter made him hug her again. He step away from her, ruffles his son's hair before getting in. One brief look at the man he immediately assumes was Zac has him on edge. He looks down below seeing a sedan fast approaching the mansion.
