Bound by Tension -
20
Finally, I was having a break. My hands hurt so bad, as well as my back, legs, arms and every part of my body was in pain.
It wasn't such an easy task working for someone like Hames. Whoever had thought coming to Australia was going to be for fun and peaceful moments, that person thought so wrong. It was extremely terrible and I felt like crying my eyes out. I dropped my phone on the bedside table, plopping myself on my bed, hoping I could sleep for the next few minutes till the break was over. I was hungry but I was too tired to eat.
I sank deeper in the softness of my bed, slowly shutting my eyes to ooze into the world of sleep.
I was jerked back awake from the sound of my ringtone. Groaning, I rolled over on the bed to reach for my phone.
"Why on Earth is Hames calling me?" I grumbled, answering the phone. "Yes, Mr. Hendrix?"
"Come over to my room now, I have something to say to you." He said and the call ended after a beep.
Strange.
I got off my bed, smoothening my skirt by its hem then started out of the room. I walked to Hames' room door, giving it a slight knock.
"Come in." He replied almost immediately.
I turned the door knob, pushing the door open. I shoved myself into the room.
Hames was sprawled on his bed, looking extremely tired and dying. What was wrong with him?
I walked towards the bed, stopping a few feet away from it. "I'm here. Do you need something?"
He jerked to sit up straight. "Miss Mark," he started. He opened his mouth to continue talking but no words came out of it.
"You need something?" I asked again.
He had his forehead furrowed in worry but it transformed to a frown. "What's your problem?" That was so random.
"My problem? What do you mean?"
He smacked his hand on his forehead, growling. "You" he palmed his face, taking his hand off immediately to glance at me. "I" he palmed his face again, drawing his lips into a snarl. "What's going on?" He was confusing me more and more.
"You're so annoying!" He groaned, rumpling his hair in his hand, clenching his hands into fist. He opened his mouth to say something but no words came out again, instead it was
"You're scaring me. Do you have something to say?" I was befuddled.
"Get out!" He barked.
"What? You called me to come here." A line appeared between my brows.
"Yes, I did." He said through gritted teeth, jerking to his feet.
His action made me flinch and I automatically moved backwards.
He walked over to his wardrobe, taking out a different briefcase, stormed back to me.
"Here, work on that too. Resume work, now." He dropped the briefcase on the floor, reached for his jacket that was around a chair, wore it over him and stormed out of the room after switching off the lights, slamming the door shut. What on Earth was that for?

Stupid Hames hadn't returned. That meant I was stuck doing stupid work for him. No break! I didn't even have the appetite to eat anything anymore, I was totally pissed off. My phone rang from the table I had dropped it on previously. I set the files in my hands on the floor beside me where I sat on, extending my arm to reach for my phone on the table.
A smile appeared on my lips on realizing the caller was Tyler. I had totally forgotten to call him back.
"Hi, Tyler." I said after answering the phone and placing it to my ear.
"Hi, babe. I called you yesterday." He said.
"Yesterday? Oh, it should be..." I glanced at the time on my phone and quickly calculated the time over there, "7 in the morning, right?" "Yeah."
"Oh, that explains yesterday." I chuckled.
"How're you? I called to be certain you arrived safely and you're doing fine now?"
"Yes, I am. Thank you." I smiled.
"That's very good to know. I'm about to leave for work but wanted to hear your beautiful voice to have a splendid day."
I felt heat rise from my neck to my face to form a blush. "That's so nice to hear. My night should be great after hearing your voice too." That was the best response I could come up with. "That's also very nice to hear. How's your grumpy boss?"
"He's being the same meanie." I rolled my eyes.
"If he pesters you too much, let me know, I'll rant on your behalf."
"Thanks for your offer but I love my job." I laughed. "I can't bear to lose it."
"Okay. If you still need me to rant, I'm always here. Bye, babe."
"Bye, Tyler." I placed a stress on his name.
"I'll call you later."
"Yeah, alright." I ended the call, returning my phone to the table.
I heard sounds against the door from the other side of it, confirming someone was trying to open it. Of course, it was going to be none other than the annoying boss.
Soon enough, the door was pushed inwards, revealing Hames. Ew, what happened to him? He looked so terrible with his head hung low, his clothes weren't tucked in properly. His hair was disheveled and nothing about him looked well. He slammed the door shut, limping towards me and dropped himself on a couch.
"Mr. Hendrix," I called out of concern, getting to my feet and walked up to him. With one glance at him, I could tell he was drunk. I thought he said he never got drunk or something.
"Take me to my room." His voice didn't sound anything like that of a drunk man. It still possessed that annoying authority. "Take me to my room." He reiterated.
"O-oh, okay." I fidgeted, confused about how to do that. I held his arm, helping him to sit up straight, sat beside him and placed his arm over my shoulder.
He kept staring at me with bored eyes. He looked like he was trying to pass a message through mind link but it wasn't working, dude.
I helped him to his feet. He had lost his balance so much, hanging onto me. If I let him go, he was going to fall and maybe pass out.
Believe me when I say he was damn heavy. I was going to pass out anytime soon. I began breathing heavily, walking all the way to his room while pulling him. I opened the door, sagging us into the room.
"Just a little more." I convinced myself, dragging us towards the bed. I had lost my breath already but he was still hanging onto me.
I finally got to his bed, throwing him to land on it. As cliché as it may seem, in the process of dropping him on his bed, I was also pulled with him, landing on his rock-hard chest.
I wanted to jerk away from him but he rolled over, now being on top of me.
I squeaked. That only helped in making him open his eyes fully.
"Imogen," he called me by my name? That was so foreign. "What's your problem?"
"Are we back at this? I should be asking you that." I placed my palm on his chest, trying to push him off of me but he won't budge. "Get off me."
"Are you blind? Why don't you understand anything?" His breath stenched of alcohol which was more than gross and infuriating.
"How on Earth am I supposed to understand anything when no words are spoken?" I snarled, attempting to push him off again.
"You're right."
I was becoming more pissed off by everything and himself. I finally managed to push him over, jerking to my feet and panted for fresh air.
I felt his hand wrap my wrist and I screamed when he pulled me back to the bed, hovering over me.
"Hames, are you outta your mind?" I gritted my teeth, attempting to push him off with my free hand but he held my other hand, letting go of the first to hold my waist, permitting a squeak to leave me.
"You're so oblivious." His gross breath sank into my nostrils but that was the least I could worry about when he smacked his lips against mine, connecting our lips for a kiss. My boss, Hames, was kissing me?! Oh no. Holy cows, save me!
