Nebraska hugged her big wolf as he made her m**n. With constant movements that could be stronger but the broad back was tense holding back. Even when he had told her he couldn’t hold back he measured his strength so as not to hurt her. His thick arm encircled her waist taking care not to hurt her wound and keeping his position on the edge of the table while the other rubbed her thigh down to her buttocks, leaving his fingers fixed on the white skin.

His scent enveloped her, his mouth devoured her, his hands marked her. She could only give herself to him. To feel wanted, loved, protected.

Hades left her mouth and moved to her neck, licking it eagerly. His teeth scraped the skin and Nebraska shivered. The omega threw her head back as she felt her body crest next to her husband. She dropped her head onto the male shoulder trying to catch her breath as the knot grew and tightened inside her. It didn’t hurt at all, it was different than before, it felt pleasurable, perfect. This time the wave of o*****s assaulted her but more faintly, moaning constantly hugging Hades.

The alpha was stroking her head with her eyes tightly closed. He thanked everything that could be prayed to for giving him back his she-wolf, his omega, his wife, his queen. He brushed the tousled hair back from her temple and kissed her.

-Was I rough,” he whispered against her skin.

She denied, still hiding her head against his shoulder. She squeezed her arms tighter around him before the wolf could hear a sob coming from her throat.

-Nebraska,” Hades tried to pull her away to see what was happening but her grip was firm, “Nebraska, baby, what’s wrong,” but her sobbing only increased.

Her body was shaking violently, and the pain in her chest was spreading to all of Hades’ senses and he could feel the agony of what she had been through.

-Calm down, love,” he put a hand on the back of her neck and touched the mark, enveloping her with his scent, trying to soothe her, “I’m here, no one will ever do anything to you again. Cry all you want, let it all out, I’ll be here.

Hades held her against him. Taking everything from her, her pain, her worries, her sorrow, her anguish. Always holding her, caring for her, comforting her.

Siran entered his alpha’s office an hour later to replace him lying on the couch with one arm behind his head. His queen was sleeping soundly on top of him with only her lower garments on. The beta made a sign to leave but Hades opened his eyes and motioned for him to come in.

Siran sat looking at his queen’s bare back and the wound that lay there. He frowned before lowering his head.

-Alpha, I apologise.

-For doubting her?

-And for not protecting her when you were poisoned, it was my mistake, I deserve to be punished.

-Hades asked, looking up at the ceiling, having his she-wolf’s chest over him, breathing steadily and hearing her heartbeat, made him feel calm in the midst of the chaos.

Siran was surprised by the change in the topic of conversation.

-They are safe, my alpha, Sara has taken care of them so far,” he said.

-That’s fine, you don’t have to worry about anything else, but there won’t be a next time,” she looked at him out of the corner of her eye, “I trust you with my life Siran, so I don’t want to lose you from my side, if you know what I mean.

The younger wolf stood up and bowed, his closed eyes wavering.

-Thank you my alpha, I promise not to fail you again,” he sat up, “Alpha, I also have another piece of news. The other alphas of the Council will be arriving shortly. Layan sent for them and gave an emergency howl.

-Understood, let’s wait for them all to arrive, prepare the hall.

-The beta nodded and turned around to replace Caesar entering.

-You fuckers,” his face was set in a grimace, “You just give me trouble, you don’t take care of yourselves. You’re always full of wounds, please think a little of me,” he walked over to where Hades was standing, “But this is worse than I imagined,” his face turned to one of astonishment as he bent down to examine the wound more closely and looked at his first and second in command in alarm.

-How bad is it?” Hades’ heart pounded against his chest.

-Bad enough to tell you that with all the medicine I can get I can’t help her at all, the mark will be permanently in the skin, besides, what the hell did that wound do,” he ran his finger along the edge receiving a low g***n from the she-wolf, “It looks like it hurts and a lot of it.

Caesar turned away to look for something in his bag and handed it to Hades.

-Be sure to rub it on her at least three times a day, I don’t know how much effect it will have but it will help with the pain temporarily. Now if you’ll excuse me, alpha, but I can’t do anything more for the queen even though we owe her a lot.

-Don’t worry, Caesar,” Hades sighed, running his hand through Nebraska’s hair, “I’m sure you’re doing your best.

The alpha watched him go and sighed deeply. Turbulent times were ahead. He only hoped he was strong enough to protect his pack and his family.

Sara couldn’t hold them back any longer. In that room, Noa, Alan, Nicolas, and even Rodrigo himself looked like they wanted to jump on him to get him out of the way. As soon as they had detected their mother’s scent they had gone crazy. They wanted to see her, to know what had happened. They wanted to know why there was a hollowness in their chests, as if an important member of the family had left their sides.

Even though the situation had been explained to them they couldn’t, they didn’t want to believe it. They needed to see their mother. Finally, the door opened and Siran stood before them. The four of them calmed down and stood still looking at the beta who did not speak. He ran off to the side and left the way clear for them to go straight to their destination.

Noa ran faster than all of them. They rounded the corner and found her there, next to her current foster father. They stopped. Nicolas grabbed his younger brother’s arm and pulled him behind him. Rodrigo stepped in front of him as well. Alan wanted to protest but stayed by Noa’s side.

Nebraska turned when she smelled them and turned slowly. Her face didn’t show the chaos attacking her body, but Hades laid a hand on her shoulder. He could feel it and would give anything to help her but this was something she had to work out for herself.

The four wolves stopped in front of their mother. Unexpectedly Nebraska smiled in relief and his eyes softened.

-I’m glad you’re all right,” he took a step toward Rodrigo and raised a hand straight to his cheek but stopped it a few inches from the skin to remove it. She remembered the look her sons had given her and from the way they acted she was sure they were still afraid of her.

But before her hand returned to the side of her body she was grabbed by her eldest son.

-Ma,” he called her that way for the first time, “Are you all right?

Nebraska opened her eyes, savoring her son’s voice calling her mother. She smiled again.

-Yes, puppy, I’m fine.

-Ma, do you hate us?” He left her speechless.

-Ma, we haven’t been good,” Alan copied his brother, “That’s why all this happened. Is it true about Catalina?

Nebraska was the one who lowered her head this time.

-Her bones now rest in peace, I’m sorry, I couldn’t protect her,” her voice trailed off, looking totally destroyed.

A hand was placed on her head and she was pushed against someone’s chest. The smell of her son Nicolas covered her nostrils.

-It’s not your fault, Ma, it’s not your fault.

From here on, it gets dangerous. The war is coming and we’ll see how each character plays their role. I hope I don’t kill anyone in the attempt. No evil mind of mine, you keep yourself under control, no one should die here. I think.
