CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery -
Chapter 1424
"Freya," Micah's voice came out hoarse, laden with pain.
Why did this have to happen to them, of all people? They had been looking forward to their baby's arrival so much, with baby clothes ready, even a name nearly chosen. But life had other plans.
"I'm really okay," Freya tried to reassure him, though her words only deepened the ache in Micah's heart.
He looked down from her face, his gaze lingering until it settled on her abdomen. Once gently rounded, now it was flat. He wrestled with whether to tell her the truth. If he said it, how would she bear such heartbreak? Yet, even if he kept quiet now, she would eventually learn the truth.
The words hovered on the tip of his tongue, but Micah could not bring himself to say them.
"Micah, don't look at me like that. I'm fine. There shouldn't be anything wrong with me, right?" Freya could not help but follow his gaze downward. As her eyes landed on her belly, realization hit her like a blow.
She raised her trembling hand, gently feeling her now-flat abdomen, searching frantically as if the truth could be anything else. "Where's my baby? This can't be. I don't believe it. Micah, please, tell me! Where is our child?"
Her questions came one after another, and Micah held her tightly, whispering assurances, "We'll have another child, Freya. We'll have more beautiful children."
"But why?" Freya sobbed, tears streaming down her cheeks. "What did I do wrong? Why is this happening to me?"
Ever since she found out she was expecting, she had been so cautious, avoiding anything that might have an impact on the baby. She stayed away from every food that seemed even slightly questionable, alhin the hope of protecting this new life.
Yet despite all her efforts, she still couldn't keep the baby. Was it simply not meant to be?
"You didn't do anything wrong. This was just a terrible accident," Micah's own pain filled his voice, a deep
sense of guilt swelling within himmet`
He couldn't help but wonder if this would have happened if he had been more attentive.
"Why couldn't it have been me instead?" she asked, her tears leaving trails down her face.

She did not understand how something so devastating could happen to them, to a couple who had done so much to help others. They had given to orphaned children, funded schools, and always acted with kindness toward others children. In the end, she could not even hold onto her own child.
"Freya, please, let's try not to think about this anymore," he pleaded. Though he felt the same pain she did, he knew he had to stay strong for her. They had already lost their child; he couldn't lose her too. Freya shook her head. "Can you really just not think about it?" she asked. "I can't. Whenever I think of our baby, I want to cry. They never even got to see this world."
