AMERY

"What is it?" Levi asked when he noticed my jaw drop to the ground. "Why are you looking at me that way? Are you okay?"

"I should be asking you that. You laugh?" I countered, bewildered. I know I sound crazy and probably stupid for asking that but I just couldn't help it. Since when does Levi laugh? What on earth is happening right now? Is this some kind of joke? Am I seeing things or do I suddenly need a doctor right now?

His expression returns to its original rest in b***h face that for a minute there, I thought that I had imagined it. Holy crap!

He cleared his throat. "Enough about me. Now do you want to ride or not? I've been here countless times but I don't have the slightest idea about how any of those things work."

I smiled at his cluelessness. "I'll show you. Come." I grabbed his hands and pulled him towards ferris wheel and he willingly followed. It was one of the easiest rides that I could operate. We got in and after pushing some buttons, it started slow as it made it's way up to the air.

I noticed Levi grow stiff beside me and I couldn't help but laugh out loud. "You're afraid of heights." I pointed out to his phobia amidst series of air choking laughter.

"I am not." He grew defensive. "I am the first born son of my father who is an Alpha king. I command all the wolves and sentinels under my jurisdiction which also means that I'm a strong and powerful leader who's definitely not afraid of heights." He bragged. "You are too." I muttered under my breath. "I can visibly see you shaking. Who would've thought that the first born son of the Alpha king is scared of heights?" I teased him jokingly. "Don't worry, your secret is safe with me. That is, if we make it down here alive and in one piece."

Levi whipped his head at me. "W-What do you mean by in one piece?"

"I didn't say anything" I raised both hands in surrender. "But it's all over the news that there are numerous cases of people dying from up here but I'm sure the son of the Alpha king would definitely be able to save himself from falling." I said with a straight face. "You've got this buddy." I patted his arms and hid my face so that he doesn't catch me laughing.

The rest of the ride went smoothly other than the fact that Levi was convinced that he was going to die tonight. Payback had never felt so good. Who would've thought that he also had something that he was definitely scared of. We got to the ground and he immediately jumped down. He took in a deep breath when his feet touched the hard surface.

"Don't worry, your secret is safe with me. I won't tell anyone that you are scared of heights or anything of that sort" I flickered my brows at him while he looked like he had just hit rock bottom.

"If you say one word about this night to anyone then I would kill you myself" He threatened but I wasn't scared of him at all. He was all talk and no bite.

"You'd better quit it with the whole threatening me Levi. I'm the one who's scared of-" He looked at me and I snapped my mouth shut. "Nevermind."

"Better" He chimed and went silent as though he had just forgotten something important.

"What's wrong?" I asked when he didn't say anything.

"It's time. Come on let me show you something." He said, grabbing my wrist in one hand and his jacket in the other as we ran out of the park and headed to a place only he knows where. I followed him blindly and after minutes of running, We arrived at an open space and sat down on the sand.

The place was a bit dark. I was scared that Levi was trying to kill me. Although I saw some human figures walking around too.

"Is this what you wanted to show me? This dark place and the sand?" I asked in a sarcastic manner.

"Okay I need you to close your eyes." He instructed. I gave him the close-your-eyes-for-what look but he only looked at me seriously. "You're going to love it trust me" He pressed and I had no choice but to close them.

"Now can I open them?" I asked but doesn't reply until a few minutes later.

"Alright you can open them now." He said giving me a light shove on my elbow and I let out a laugh before finally opening them.

"Wow" Was all I could say. The entire night sky was filled with fire crackers that reflected numerous colours in the sky.

"You like it don't you?"

"I love it. Look at that one over there" I say pointing at the sky.

"It looks more like Amery" he teased and I gave him a slap on his arm.

"Ouch"

"Oh look there's a shooting star" I squealed excitedly. "Let's make a wish" I told him sharply.

"Wishes don't come true, It's pointless." He turned me down and proceeded to lie down on the sand.

"Okay to make it interesting, whoever's wish comes true owes the other a free meal." I placed a bet and just then, I noticed a smirk on his face. Somehow, I'm regretting what I just said.

"I like that but to make it more interesting, the loser has to kiss the winner" He suggested instead.

"Alright" I nodded in agreement. "Great. Here comes another shooting star" I said pointing at the sky and we both closed our eyes to make a wish.

"What did you wish for?" He asked me a few seconds after the fireworks display had ended and the crowd had slowly started to disperse.

"You can't ask what I wished for or it won't come true. That's cheating." I answered feeling a bit irritated.

"Have it your way then." He said, standing up and pulling me up from the ground as well.

"Let's take to the bus station now shall we?" He stated and we decided to head back home. We walked towards the direction of the next bus station when we came across a woman selling in a cart by the roadside. Her cart was filled with different kinds of jewelries and accessories. Most people stood there to buy one thing or the other and we decided to take a look. Levi scanned the entire jewelry on display and settled for two matching necklaces.

"Interesting choice" The seller commended his item. "Give that to the person you cherish and you'll be together forever." The lady told him with a smile. He paid for it and took both. Then he wore one and shoved the other one into his pockets.

"Let's go." He beckoned and slowly started to leave while I trailed behind him. I couldn't help but think about who the other one was for. Is he in love with someone? Does he have someone he cherishes? I'm aware he had a girlfriend but I doubt that he was saving it for her. I mean it has to be her right. That's the only way to explain why he bought matching necklaces. I should've known. Am I getting jealous?

I mean, I have always known that he had someone in his life and I wasn't expecting it to be me. We had barely began to understand each other so why would I think otherwise?

"Amery?" I heard him call.

I stopped abruptly. "Yes"

"Come here." He ordered and I walked up to him. I couldn't believe he's walked that far already.

"Hold up your hair" He ordered and I do just that. He stood at my back and the next thing I knew. He was putting the necklace around my neck. I opened my mouth to say something but words weren't coming out. "I've not met the person I cherish yet so until then, you can hold onto it." He primped and I couldn't help but smile.

"Thank you" I whispered gratefully. "And thank you for also bringing me to watch the crackers that lit up in the sky." I added. I couldn't believe this was happening. I held onto the necklace, smiling sheepishly. "Amery?"

"Yes Levi" I answered.

He didn't say anything but came closer to me. He leaned forward and placed his lips on mine while pulling me closer to him. We kissed and he finally pulled away. I felt the blush crawl up my cheeks and rested there. "Looks like I won." He muttered amidst laughter.

"Won what?" I asked clueless of what he was talking about. Was I missing something?

"Our bet. My wish was to kiss you and I finally did so you owe me a kiss and a free meal as well" He announced proudly.

"That's... that's not possible" I couldn't believe it. It was purely outrageous. "For all we know, you could be lying."

"And that's why I asked you to tell me what you wished for but you said it won't come true and looks like mine did so Miss Amery Hunter. I believe you owe me a kiss now" He said while I stood there like a statue staring at him in disbelief as he begun laughing hysterically. For the life In me, I don't think that I would ever get used to Levi laughing but that was far from the main issue at hand right now. Just what have I gotten myself into?
