AMERY

.

"And done." Quincy announced proudly and raised up his sketch book for me to see. His eyes gleamed in excitement and I could see the light passing through them like a Christmas tree that was lit on Christmas Day. "So what do you think about this, my little

apprentice?"

I took the sketch book from him and took a closer look and all I could think of at that moment was the fact that I was impressed with what he drew on the paper. It wasn't a new thing to me that Quincy was super talented when it came to drawing and making art on paper. Ever since I was stranded in their realm weeks ago, he always wowed me with his drawings and his affection towards art.

"This is really good Quincy and I must say that I am very impressed." I commended him and he took it to heart because he couldn't stop smiling at my comment. "Well no surprises there, you've always been a great artist."

"And that's because I have a very good inspiration. Thank you for agreeing to come today Amery. I haven't been able to put anything down on paper for a while and now I was able to complete one of my art works because you came. You always make things positive and I'm very happy about that." He ruffled my hair with a huge grin on his face.

"Stop running your hands through my hair. I'm not a pet." I whined and tried to fix up my scattered mass that were flying in all directions now.

"Oh but you are my pet. My little cute and adorable pet." He held my cheeks and squeezed tenderly. I loved the fact that he was happy. There was something satisfying about seeing them happy and not on each other throats and if anything, I would give the world to see Quincy smile. He had been a very massive help to me these past few days and had made sure that I was okay too.

I might not have realized it yet but Quincy was more of a friend to me now. Unlike his brothers, he was the only one who understood me for me and the fact that we shared a special Bond and have been through similar things in life made it easier for us to access and understand each other. I guess that was the reason why we met each other in the first place. Irrespective of this whole werewolf and mate thing going around between them, Quincy was actually not that bad to hang out with. He was fun and he brought out a side of me that I didn't fully understand.

"So about the whole art thing-"

"Don't worry about any of that Quincy. Just focus on finishing that little project on the canvas and I'll work out the details myself so you don't have to concern yourself with anything." I assured him with a placating smile before reaching out to pick up my things on the floor so that I can stuff them in my bag.

"I'll work on the canvas alright but I'll only do so on one condition."

I stopped what I was doing and turned to face him. "And what's your condition?"

"You will have to come here everyday after school, agreed?" He asked.

"But what if I have something to do or somewhere to be? It won't work out everyday Quincy. I have a life of my own and I wouldn't be able to hang out here everyday." I lay down my worries to him as well.

"Well, everyday might not work out per se but then whenever you're free, I want to see you here. Is that okay?"

I nodded my head in agreement and proceeded to continue with what I was doing. "Of course, I promise. If that'll be all then I'd like to take my leave now."

"Should I drive you home?" He offered, already reaching out for his shoes.

"That won't be necessary." I disagreed immediately. "My parents remember? They won't let any guy come at least three mile radius to my front door without throwing a fit and besides, we are still at crossroads with each other because of what had happened at school and I don't want to add to anything anymore so maybe next time."

"Then how do you plan on leaving?"

I shrugged. "I'll take the bus home like I did last time. The bus station is not actually far away from here."

He arched a brow at me. "Are you sure you don't need my help?"

"Nope I don't but thanks for offering." I hugged him. "I'll see you next time. Goodbye." I waved at him before making my way outside his bedroom. I wanted to tell Levi that I was leaving but I noticed that the door to his bedroom was locked and come to think of it, I haven't seen him ever since we finished having lunch together on the dinner table where he stormed out on us.

Maybe he was busy or fighting his demons like he always did. Either ways, we'd see each other at school so I wasn't bothered about him. It was getting late and I had to be back home on time.

I exited the mansion and after walking past security, I took the path that led towards the bus station. A few walks away, someone jumped out of the corner scaring me In fright. I held onto that part of my chest where my heart was located and blew out a deep breath.

"I thought you'd never come out of the mansion." I heard Levi's voice and my heartbeat slowly started to go down to its normal beating range.

"Are you crazy?" I yelled at him. "My soul almost left my body you bloody bastard!" I cussed through gritted teeth. "Do you have any idea how scary that was?"

"I did and that's why I did it."

"Why are you here?" I asked. "I figured that you'd be in your bedroom because I didn't see you after lunch so I'm quite surprised to replace you out here."

"I was waiting for you." He said conversionally but I felt my heart do a tiny dance at his words.

"You were waiting for me?" I found it hard to believe even though it looked like he clearly was. "Why?"

"I wanted to take you home myself." He blurted out but I shook my head and walked past him, taking slow and unhurried strides.

"You don't have to. I can manage all by myself." I turned him down but he only trailed after me till his legs fell in line with mine. "And besides, you're the last person I wanted to be seen with anyways."

He stopped abruptly. "I heard what you said to Quincy about Asher's unknown whereabouts."

"And what about it?" I stopped walking too, my eyes fixed on him.

"You were crying." He pointed out. "Do you care that much about him to the extent of crying?"

"In case you don't remember, all those times when you actually tried to kill me and bury me six feet under, Asher was the person who stood by me and made sure that I was okay. He never deserted me and he-" I stopped talking when I felt the waterworks coming in. "He is a good person Levi so yes, I have every right to care about him." I wiped my tears aggressively.

For a brief moment there, we stood still. None of us saying anything to the other.

"Do you want to see something cool?" He asked out of the blue and I am left speechless.

"I have to go home or my pa-"

"The bus doesn't come until later at night so..." He trailed off with outstretched hands. "Come with me."

I looked torn and conflicted. Should I trust him enough to go wandering off with him by this time of the day? This was a perfect time to kill someone without anyone knowing so should I really risk it to go out with him? What if he was planning something bad again or plotting to get me killed like he always did.

"I won't do anything to harm you."

I blew out a rasp. "Like I haven't heard that one before. That's what you always said before you did something to harm me."

"I promise." He added.

I studied him closely and I couldn't help but feel like I should trust him and give him one more chance.

"Alright then." I said after seconds of calculating and hatching an escape plan in my mind. "What is this cool thing that you wanted to show me?"

He grabbed my hands and we sprinted into the woods opposite their gate until we arrived at a sealed off area that prohibited anyone from trespassing. Levi jumped across the fence and landed on his feet. He broke one side of the gates so that I could pass and after giving it much thought, I stepped in and I am met with an unimaginable sight In front of me. It was an abandoned amusement park sealed off far away from the area. I was surprised to know that I haven't been here before.

"Welcome to my safe place Amery." He announced and a shocked gasp escaped my lips.

"This is..." I took in the sight in front of me. "This is amazing. How...how did you replace this place?"

"Well, I was wandering and stumbled upon it by accident. No one comes here by this time of the day so it's safe." He dipped his hands into his pockets as he tried to avoid my piercing gaze.

"Am I sensing a Levi moment right here?" I was fighting the urge not to laugh at his gesture of trying to be nice.

"Don't push it Amery otherwise I'd be riding you instead of one of those creepy looking things." He warned sternly and pointed at one of the rides.

"You act way too grumpy for someone who willingly brought me to his safe place which I didn't even ask to come in the first place." I sneered at him and he rolled his eyes at me.

"What if I told you that I actually brought you over here to kill you?" He asked out of the blue and I felt the hairs at the back of my arm stand.

Just then, Levi's lips stretched into a smile and before I knew it, he burst out laughing. It was the loveliest and craziest laughter that I had ever heard. For some reason, it warmed my insides. "You should see your face right now." He pointed at me, while I stood there flushed at the sight in front of me. Levi was laughing? I have never seen him smile, let alone laugh so hard before. Is this real or do my eyes deceive me?
