Chapter 28

I watched in horror as the wolves jumped out from the dark corners of the cave, which I didn't recognize earlier.

"L-evi, what's the meaning of this?" I asked in fear, looking up at him helplessly.

"What does it look like?" He answered nonchalantly, and alarm bells rang through my head immediately. He wasn't a bit concerned if I was torn limb by limb by this hungry wolves, what was I thinking? He brought me to a f*****g cave to have me killed. How cruel can he be? But I knew for a fact that this wasn't the time to reminisce of how wicked he is, I need to get out of here alive.

"Please Levi. Tell them to back off, you wouldn't want to see your mate die. Would you?" I asked in fright, tears welling up in my eyes I glanced up at him.

"About that....." He slurred. "Seeing you die, would be the most epic and interesting sight I have ever seen"

"What? You wanna know what you are? You're a f*****g monster." The tears now stained my cheeks as I struggled to get on my feet. "You want me to die? When I have no ill thought towards you?" "The seeds.."

"Don't f*****g use that!" I snapped. "Are they meant to kill? If it was so deadly would you be here? Won't you be a corpse by now?"

I took daring steps towards him, my eyes glistening in anger, poking my hands into his chest I told him.

"I never wanted you to die. All I wanted was to make you suffer a little, just a little of what you have put me through. You are a f*****g monster, and i hate you."

"s**t!" He cursed, taking his eyes off me for a second, shutting it and playing with his fist.

Yes! This was the last opportunity I had to redeem myself. Taking slow steps backwards, I glanced at the wolves on the far end of the cave strolling slowly towards where I stood.

I calculated the speed and distance it would take me from where I stood to the entrance and the door, and if I played it safe I would be out here in no time. I took a last glance at him, he still had his eyes shut.

I raced towards the entrance of the cave, the entrance of a more deadly wolf walking in through the door made me halt on my tracks.

"Smart move." I heard Levi clap behind me, snapping my head back with anger. I saw a smile tugging on his lips.

"Give it up. You are going to die."

The wolf in front of me strotting dangerously towards me and I took steps back.

I prayed silently for someone to come to my aid, my heart raced as they surrounded me. Hungry looks on their face, the familiar devilish glint shining bright in their eyes.

I stumbled on a rock, falling down to me but I felt my heart sink. There was no way I could outsmart these ferocious beast. All I heard were low growls and hungry sounds coming from them.

My heart thudded violently in my chest, the fear threatening to burst out. I held my chest in pain, the pain I felt was evident on my face.

Suddenly, one of the wolf's leaped into the air, its fangs sticking out of its opening mouth.

I closed my eyes, this was it. I was going to die, I accepted my fate and waited patiently for the cold hands of death.

But then nothing came, I dared not to open my eyes. Maybe I was in heaven already, I slowly opened my eyes as the gold eyes wolf peered deeply at me, I held my breath waiting for its next move.

I felt a moist tongue lick my face.

"W-what are you doing?" I asked it like it could hear me. He kept on licking my face friendly, and soon enough the others joined in the act. Lapping and licking my face friendly.

I lay still in shock, not daring to make a move. Maybe this was all his plan, I don't trust him. This was too easy, which made my brain on high alert.

Levi's growl shocked me as surprise was evident on his face.

"What the f**k are you doing?" He growled to no one in particular, my heart raced at his voice.

"Don't f*****g think you can escape." He paused, thinking for a while. "When I make promises I don't fail to fulfill them."

With no warning, his cold eyes darkened. Leaping into the air he transformed into a gigantic white wolf, landing with a huge thud.

My heart raced again, the wolf's turned their attention from me and facing Levi. I knew they were no match for him, he was way stronger than them and that scared me. After he subdued them, what next? He kills me himself? The first wolf jumped in attack, and with his right paws Levi shoved it hard. The poor wolf hit through rocks, its back hitting hard against the hard cave walls. It let out a whine, and anger welled up in me as I balled my hands into a fist. They were defending me but he wanted the exact opposite, he wanted them to kill me and since they weren't doing it, he took things by himself.

They went one after the other, but he kept shoving them off till there was no standing wolf. He took menacing steps towards me, I shifted on the ground trying to widen the gap between us.

"Don't." I muttered in fear, putting my hands in front of me.

Suddenly, the wolves jumped on him all at once. He fell, but soon regained his stamina and kept fighting.

I stood up and raced out of the cave at full speed. Running deeper into the woods. The pain in my chest returned as I struggled to breath. I slowed down, but didn't stop.

I bumped into a hard chest. I looked up to see Quincy glancing worriedly at me.

"Amery, are you okay? Why are you here? Why are you this way." He eyes his worried eyes darting around my body.

"He..." a cough spiraled out of my throat causing the words to halt. I lifted my hands and pointed vaguely towards the direction of the cave, before I blacked out.
