AMERY

.

One week, that's how long it has been since the incident that happened with Dalia. I still couldn't believe that she had tried to kill me. I have been having flashes of the events and my mind had been playing tricks on me. Asher believes that it's only a mere syndrome that would pass away soon but I felt like it ran deeper than that.

I have a hunch that the poison Dalia's mom had injected into my system also had a part to play in this mess.

I don't know why I always had a thing with bad luck. All my life, it has always gone from one issue to another and each time I tried to get over it, another thing happens and throws me off balance again. Ever since I stepped my feet into this realm, it had only gotten

worse.

Asher had been trying so hard to get me to leave the house ever since I got back but I couldn't. I had shut myself from him and from the whole world. I can't bring myself to accept what had happened. I had almost died and the thought of it always sent shivers down my spleen.

I missed my parents. I missed home.

It was sad but I couldn't disregard the fact that I needed them now more than ever. If I were there with them, I wouldn't have gone through what I had just gone through but I still hated the fact that they had also lied to me.

They hid my identity of being a werewolf away from me and as if it wasn't enough, I still didn't know who I was and what I had become.

Reminiscing through every thing I had gone through, I don't know if I had the strength in me to Keep on going. I was tired. I felt drained and I didn't want to continue living anymore. The more I try to let go of the pain, the more it hits me back in a way that I would never recover from.

The scars on my body hasn't faded completely and my eyes hurt whenever I cry or mistakenly get water in them because of the wolfsbane. If I were a mortal, I was pretty sure that I would've gone blind or worse. Just what on earth did I do to attract this sort of bad luck that had been following me everywhere?

Tossing to the other side of the bed, I drown my mind in my sorrows. I didn't know how much time had gone until I heard a subtle knock on my door. It was low but I heard it anyways. I glanced at the clock only to realize that it was a few minutes to twelve midnight. That's when it hit me that I have been awake all through the night. So much for sleeping.

Throwing my fleece jacket over my night wear, I stealthily walked towards the door and twisted it open. The maids trooped into my bedroom and I gently shut the door behind me. "Everything is ready Amery, just like you have asked." One of the maids spoke up and I smiled at her gratefully.

"Alright guys. Let's not mess it up. Places everyone!" I squealed happily with a little hand clap and we all scampered out of the bedroom as we made our way towards the living room.

It was finally time to celebrate the boy's birthday.

I had planned a little surprise for them. Since I couldn't buy the gift as intended, I had planned with a few maids to surprise them. The plan was to act as if I was in trouble and when they come to rescue me, I'd pop out and surprise them. This was another shot to redeem myself since I had been a fun sponge throughout the entire week.

When we got to the living room, I hide at my spot and signalled them to turn off the lights.

The minute the lights went off, I screamed at the top of my lungs in a desperate cry for help. I pretended to be hurt and they immediately stormed into the living room.

First it was Asher and then I saw the dim figure of Quincy who trailed behind him as they tried to replace me frantically.

Asher was the first to replace me and he immediately grabbed me by the arm. The lights came on and at that moment and we all yelled out, wishing them a happy birthday. I saw the shocked expression on their faces when the conffeti rains down on them. Their faces relaxed and switched back into an infectious smile.

"Happy Birthday to the both of you!" I shrieked and I could see the gleam in their eyes which told me that I had done a good job in surprising them.

Levi didn't show up as expected so I was guessing that he wasn't interested. Deep down inside me, I hoped that he would at least show up for the sake of his birthday. I didn't want to admit it but part of me wanted to see him and probably use this opportunity to thank him for coming to my rescue.

I haven't gotten the chance to thank him properly because somehow he had refused to see me and has avoided talking to me as well.

"You did all this?" Asher beamed happily, his eyes taking in everything around him.

"Not all of it. I had help from the maids as well. Happy birthday Asher." I hugged him tightly and he reciprocated. I pulled away from the hug and approached Quincy.

"Happy birthday Quincy." I hugged him as well.

"I honestly wasn't expecting any of this." He threw his hands in the air in utter surprise.

"I got you good didn't I?" I laughed out loud. "Honestly, I planned something better than this for both of you but I couldn't give it because..." I trailed off when the memories of what had happened flooded through my head.

"It's okay Amery." Quincy holds my shoulder "We're all here together and that's what matters."

They hugged me again and I felt my body melt into them. I purred in content and pulled away when I suddenly started getting attached to them.

"Let's have cake." I announced.

"You baked?" They asked in unison.

"Only the best for the birthday boys." I replied and the maids immediately walked in with the cake, drinks and other refreshments.

I sang them the birthday song and they cut the cake together. I sliced it and shared it amongst ourselves and we munched it happily. The mood around us was nice and I was glad to have this moment with them without any form of hostility. "Let's make a toast." I proposed with a raised glass and they did the same as well.

"Let's make a toast to all of us seated here." I began and they grinned widely at me.

"Asher, I want to thank you for being supportive and for helping me out whenever I need it. You're always there even when I don't think you are and you always try to protect me whenever I'm in danger." My eyes stung and my I fought back the tears. "Thank you for standing by my side and being with me."

"And Quincy..." I faced him and his eyes lit up "Thank you for being the sun to my dark clouds. Thank you for making me laugh and telling me corky jokes when I'm sad. Thanks for making me smile and mocking me whenever you get a chance."

They burst out laughing, forcing me to laugh too. "Anyways," I continued and they composed themselves. "Thank you both for being you. You might not know it but you all look alike and your personalities may differ but it compliments mine and your hospitality towards me is far more better than anything I have ever received outside this realm and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world."

"To the Alpha princes, and my humble self." I raised my glass and clinked it together with theirs before drowning all the contents.

After my speech, I suddenly felt emotional and we all shared a moment together. After series of games and fun, the mini party finally came to an end. "Thank you for doing this Amery. I will never forget today for as long as I am alive." He inched his face closer and kissed me on my cheeks. "What about me? Don't I get to have a kiss?" Quincy inquires and I roll my eyes at him. He pulled me into a tight embrace and I remained there. "This birthday party doesn't mean that I stop teasing you right?" He inquired and I giggled.

"If doesn't Quincy. You're free to tease me for as much as you'd like."

"That's better. Thank you Amery." He kissed my forehead and after bidding ourselves goodnight, they both exited to their bedroom.

I wanted to ask them about Levi but decided against it. He probably wouldn't want to talk to me anyway but why did I feel guilty about it?

Was it because I had found out that he was the one who saved me?

Swallowing my indecisiveness, I decided to take a bold step and approach him. And with that thought settled down in my mind, I walked towards his door with the sole purpose of talking to him.
