Levi knew the exact moment Amery ran towards her bedroom crying. Although he tried to ignore, but he was still able to hear her strangled sobs and wailing. She was hurt. The realization made his wolf restless which also made him restless. towards her. His insides itched for him to chase after her but why?

He had always thought that he would be able to control himself should Incase he is faced with a time like this but it was proving to be the complete opposite of what he had hoped. It's almost like he is being drawn by an invisible pull. He felt pity and longing

No. He wasn't supposed to pity her. He wasn't supposed to replace her alluring. He was supposed to hate her, to loathe her with every fibre of his being so why then, why then was he being drawn to her?

Her prehormones blanketed the air, blinding his nostrils which made it difficult for him to breathe. He could still perceive her pool of wetness, her musky scent. He could still hear her moan, he could still see her thrashing under him. Damn! How badly he wanted to have a taste but he couldn't because he shouldn't be thinking about her in the first place.

He has been trying so hard to let go and forget about her. Ever since he saw her in that state, he had tried his very best to avoid her but she kept on approaching him. His thoughts of her was the very same thing that initiated the cold shower in the first place so that he could surpress these feelings but then it only seemed like the goddess had something different in store for him by bringing her to his bedroom at that time.

"Arghhh!" He yelled out loud and took to the table in front of him. Without giving it a second thought, he pushed down everything till they all came crashing down into a million pieces.

He felt a slight sting on his arm, followed by blood oozing out from the cut which was a clear indication that he had been wounded by one of the relics but still, it didn't hurt as much as what he felt at that moment.

The wound would definitely heal but what about him? What about these unwelcomed feelings that he nursed for Amery, would that go away?

Crashing on the ground beside his bed, he cursed himself for being too weak as to let he get to him. He felt angry at himself for giving into such temptation. He never should've kissed her, let alone touch her. He should've fought tooth and nail with his raging animal if he had to. He should've walked away or tried his very best to tame his crazy beast but he couldn't.

Whatever that was supposed to happen had happened already and he can't keep crying or blaming himself over split milk.

After all, today was his birthday. Relief coursed through him when it dawned on him that he would be putting his final plan to action today.

No matter what happens today, he would finally win.

Levi was still settled on the ground when the door to his bedroom flew open. He darted his eyes towards the direction of the noise only to see the faces of his brothers as they stalked inside his room, one after the other.

"Did a tornado blow through here last night?" Quincy asked, pointing at the mess he had made on the floor earlier. "Or are we in the right room?"

Asher hurried to where Levi sat, looking dejected as if the weight of the entire world has been thrown down on his shoulders "Are you okay? Are you hurt somewhere?" He made to reach out to him but Levi thwarted his hands away.

"I'm fine." Came his grunt and monotonous response as she forced himself up from the hard surface.

"I wonder whatever got you into this mood to tear down your room like a warzone. You never cease to amaze me Levi, not one single day and to think that you did this on our birthday of all days." Asher muttered, his eyes still taking in the messed up room and the broken glasses in front of him.

Ignoring the pieces, he faced Levi with a sigh "Anyways, are you ready?"

"Ready for what?" Levi asked and proceeded to take off his towel. It just hit him that he hadn't changed out of the towel ever since he came back from the shower. He groaned when he realized that even the towel had her scent embedded on it as well. "Oh brother!" Quincy tightened his face in sudden irritation. "Do you really have to get naked in front of us?"

"You're the one to talk. If you were given the opportunity, you'd probably not get dressed in your entire life." Levi taunted and Quincy arched a brow, his lips curled smugly.

"Exactly my point." He affirmed. "I'm the one who gets naked. It's my thing and seeing you do it, is a complete turn off to everything that I embody as a person."

Asher rolled his eyes at their bickering. He's had enough of them but still, he wouldn't deny the fact that they were actually talking.

"Get dressed quickly Levi. We don't have all day" Asher reminded him with an eye roll.

Levi got dressed up In his clothes and they all made their way outside his bedroom and into the forest. It was time for their morning run. Every year on their birthday, they made a pact and a ritual of running together to the mountain top. Whoever wins, gets three wishes from the losers. It was a game and a tradition they started ever since they were kids and along the line, it strengthened and bonded their relationship as brothers.

"Hurry up Quincy, otherwise I'd have to drag you there myself." Asher beckoned to his brother to come closer and walk in sync with them as they made their way to the starting point of the race.

"Don't rush me. I'm still trying to figure out what you both would get for me when I win-"

"If you win." Came Levi's taunting tease.

"You're planning to cheat again aren't you." He accused, pointing his fingers at Levi who tried his very best to stifle his laughter. "I told you that he always cheats but you never listen Asher."

"Levi is quite competitive so it's only natural that he does whatever he can to win and besides, there's no rule stating the criteria for anyone winning the race." Asher reminded him with a cynical smile. "I'm beginning to suspect the both of you now."

"You should start with Asher. Last time during the race he-" Levi was saying but Asher interrupted him by shushing his lips with his hands.

"Let go, you bastard!" Levi struggled and a loud uproar of laughter ensured between them.

"He what?" Quincy stared at them with puzzled eyes. The kind that says he's been fooled his entire life by the two people he considered his brothers. And to think the actually trusted them.

"Tell him or I will?" Levi threatened with folded arms.

"You can't rat me out even if you wanted to. We're both in this together so if I take the fall then be rest assured that I am dragging you down that hole with me." Asher countered, his hard gaze holding Levi's unwavering ones. "Fair enough."

"I hate you both." Quincy lifted up his middle finger before brushing past the both of them, making it to he front.

"Whatever happens today, I certainly won't loose. Amery's birthday wishes are with me so this year would be doing." Quincy stated in an attempt to rile up his brothers. He knew that even the slightest mention of her name was enough to cause an argument. "You didn't come out for the celebration last night." Asher blurted out, halfway through their journey. "Why? Amery planned a surprise for us and you were the only one missing."

Levi's smile faded only to be replaced by anger and resentment. He couldn't understand why his brothers always have to bring her into their conversation. Why do they always have to make her a subject of everything they share or discuss amongst themselves? "I didn't feel like it." Came his response.

"By the way," Quincy halted in his steps and turned to face his brothers. Their eyes held questions as they waited for him to talk. "About the bet and Amery, who's supposed to be the grand price. I'd like to know how far you all have gone? Who do you think she's going to pick amongst the three of us?"

"Who do you think would end up with her? What's your progress so far?" He threw the question to his brothers who looked amongst themselves. Their mood, suddenly becoming serious as the tension between them blanketed the air around them.
