Claimed By My Three Alphas -
Chapter 59
AMERY
.
"Are you sure that you want to do this Amery?" Dad's voice boomed from behind. He was laid back on the panel of the door that supported his weight. I didn't even hear him come in. "Your mother told me about your decision to go back to school and although it's a
good idea, I can't help but feel worried."
I smiled at his words. "I know that you both care so much for me but I can't stay locked up in my bedroom forever."
"I know but I just think it's too early and besides, you aren't healed completely yet. What if it gets worse while you're away?"
"It's been a week already dad." I reminded him "It can't get any worse than it already is." I returned to buttoning up my shirt, finishing the look with a pair of ankle boots before slinging my bag over my shoulders in reckless abandon.
"It can't, yet but it might." He tucked his hands deeply inside his pockets as he approached me. "Your mother told me about what happened between the two of you yesterday. I'm very sorry."
I gave a sad smile. "You don't have to apologize dad. Mom explained everything to me and even though it hurts, I'm completely okay with it."
"I just want you to know that it was never our intention to hide anything from you." He went on with a sigh. "We just didn't want you getting hurt and that's why we resulted to hiding the truth from you Amery. We wanted you to grow up and have the best life has to offer without thinking about the past or wallowing in sadness. Please forgive us." He clasped both hands together but I held them in mine affectionately.
"I'll admit that I was devastated but I'm over it now."
Liar! My subconscious slapped me mentally. I wasn't over it. In fact, ever since I heard about the truth yesterday, I've been so invested in replaceing out the truth. I wanted to know who my real birth parents are and how I ended up here, in this world. I wanted to replace out more about my origin and how I came to be.
It simply wasn't enough that I was merely adopted. I wanted to replace out more. The alpha king had mentioned something about a prophecy and I wanted to replace out what any of it had to do with me.
I wanted an explanation but I simply cannot tell them that because I don't want to hurt their feelings so I'd just s**k it up like the brave and naive girl that everyone assumed I was. "Everything is fine dad and I promise that i will be as well."
He ruffled my hair and placed a kiss on my forehead. "If anything goes wrong, feel free to call us okay?"
"Of course."
Dad exited my room and I stood in front of my full length mirror. Satisfied with how I looked, I made my way outside my room and out of the house. I had cold feet about going to school because I didn't know what to expect. The last time I left, was because of the video incident and had happened that resulted in my fight with the queen bee of our school. I had been given suspension and since then, I haven't stepped foot inside that premises as well.
I didn't want to think about the consequences or what I'm going to face but I won't let it bother me.
I mouthed my parents goodbye and made it to the bus station in time for the school bus to arrive.
After settling down, I plugged in my ear buds to listen to some music as the bus drove all the way to school. I was lost in the beauty and change in scenery. Everything felt so different and surreal as though I haven't been here for a very long time.
We arrived at school and I was surprised to see everyone going about their daily business without paying any ounce of attention to me. I was scared that people would mock me about the video but to my surprise, nobody noticed me. They were all busy whispering and talking about something that I didn't understand. Did a wave of amnesia blow through here because it was strange to see that I wasn't the center of attraction as I had hoped.
I approached my locker and made to open it and that's when I heard the whispering voices of some group of girls talking behind me.
"Did you see them?" One of them squealed in a high pitched voice while the other one chided her to calm down and not create a scene.
It wasn't my business but I couldn't bring myself to ignore when they were being so loud about it.
"They are soooo hot!.!" Another shrieked in exaggeration. I rolled my eyes at their outburst. It wasn't a big deal to see high schoolers fangirling over boys. It was a normal thing over here. At least they weren't talking about me or the video.
"I heard that they're triplets. Can you believe that?"
"They don't seem like one to me. Maybe they're brothers or something. Either ways, I can't wait for them to notice me." They shut their lockers.
"Did you see where they went?" I heard the voice of the first girl who had spoken earlier.
"In the principal's office. If they end up in my classroom then I'll do anything to trade seats so that I get close to them." Their voice faded into the background as they all walked away from their lockers.
This is nice. Everyone is so taken in with the new kids so they'd barely notice me to create a scene of my arrival. If this wasn't plain luck then I don't know what to call it.
I made my way to class after the first bell for classes was rung and located my desk at the far end of the classroom which was directly facing the window. The teacher was yet to arrive so I plopped down on my seat and plugged in my ear buds, my eyes facing outside the window as the morning breeze caressed my cheeks and blew through my hair.
The teacher walked in almost immediately and faced the class.
"Good morning Mr Davies." Everyone greeted. Everyone except me. I wasn't in a mood to make pleasantries with anyone and I most definitely won't start now.
'We'll start of the class by receiving our test scripts" He announced before taking out the papers and distributing them among the members of the class. I can't believe that I had missed out on tests as well. Just how long was I trapped in the other world? Everything seemed to have moved forward except me and it's infuriating to say the least.
"So I'll admit that the test was a little bit difficult for most of you but I'm very happy cause someone managed to get an A" He paused and dropped the script on her table "Congratulations Natasha."
We both make eye contact but he averted her gaze as though she didn't recognize me. I wasn't complaining though.
After making sure everyone got theirs, he faced the class.
"I'd like to make an announcement." He blurted out, piquing everyone's interest as to what he wanted to say next. "We have three new students joining us today." He announced and there were murmurings and clamourings amongst the other students. "Come on in guys." He instructed, ushering them in and as if on cue, they walked into the class one after the other. At first I thought that I was dreaming but when we all shared eye contact briefly, I realized that it wasn't a dream and neither was my mind playing tricks on me. This wasn't just a figment of my imagination. They were here. The alpha princes. In my classroom. My jaw dropped to the ground in shock.
I couldn't miss, neither could I forget those eyes that loathed me and those ones that cared and played around with me. How did they end up here? Was this even possible? I thought that our worlds were different so what exactly is happening right now? "Introduce yourself to the class." He said and stepped aside, giving them the floor.
"Hi, My name is Asher....Asher Stark. We recently moved here and I hope that I'm welcomed to this class. I look forward to working with all of you." His emerald eyes lit up like a Christmas tree while the cheered him on. That was the Asher that I had always known. So jovial and cheerful.
"I'm Quincy and unfortunately, I'm related to both of them" He pointed at Asher and Levi and the latter did an eye roll to show his unenthusiastic mood. "They may be smart but I am the better looking sibling though." He winked corkily and the whole class burst into a fit of laughter.
"Hello" Natasha waved at them. "My name's Natasha and it's so nice to meet you all."
They ignored her friendly remark and she stood up and approached them with a stretched hand. Which they all shook except Levi. "Welcome to our school. I'm part of the school's tour committee and i could help show you around the school. and also, if you need anything then, just let me know."
"I didn't quite get your name." She directed her question to Levi who looked uninterested. "And you are?"
"I don't talk to strangers." He shunned her with a frown and she quickly retreated. Typical Levi, the backstabber. If I had any humour left in me then I would've laughed at his words but sadly I didn't. I'd even have to pretend as if I don't know them if I had to. I inhaled softly and focused my eyes on my desk, so that I wouldn't have to pay any attention to them.
"Welcome, all three of you. You can take a seat on any of the empty seats available." Mr Davies informed them and they did as they were told.
Someone approached my table. "Can I take a seat right next to her?"
"Of course." Mr Davies permitted and he sat down next to me. "Hope you don't mind Amery." He added. I wished that the ground would just open up and swallow me whole at this point. Could this day get any worse?
