Claimed By My Three Alphas -
Chapter 75
AMERY
.
"I can't believe that you came." Asher's shrill voice resonated through my shoulders, blocking the thoughts of what I had seen earlier. I couldn't believe that I had walked in on a naked Levi. I wouldn't be surprised if he had me on one of his bad books. He had never liked me and this incident would add to the list of hate he had going on for me.
Asher pulled away and I held onto the strap of the bags to support my stance. "I wouldn't miss it and besides it's my project with Quincy so I can't back out." "I'm glad that you listened to me."
I hummed in response. Yeah, listening to you had almost caused me my life and sanity a few minutes ago. I thought to myself but I wouldn't dare to say it out loud.
"No one came for the door when I knocked so I thought to come in myself and I think I accidentally entered the wrong room." I spilled the tea and he darted his eyes to the hallway as though he could see exactly what I was talking about. "Levi's room?" He asked, perturbed. "Did he attack you? Or try to hurt you in any way?"
I shook my head no. "He barely said anything to me." My brain recalled those cold eyes that stared at me in rage and what seemed to be anger. Ever since i got to meet Levi, I had realized that his eyes were a lot colder than before. There was this certain type of energy that radiated around him. It felt like a fire of hate had been lit inside him and it always seemed to burn whenever he looked at me, as if I had caused it.
And I don't know why though because to the best of my knowledge, I had never done anything to him. If possible, he was the one who had tried to kill me and if anyone was supposed to get angry, then that person was supposed to be me. Or does it have to do with the thing he had claimed to lose? He had mentioned in the gym the other day that he lost something because of me. Now, I couldn't help but feel curious. What exactly had he lost? Maybe I would ask Asher about it. If there's anyone who would tell me about it then it was none other than him.
"I'm sorry that I didn't come to answer the door myself. I was preparing for your visit here." He explained and I mused in understanding.
"Preparing for my visit? What exactly were you preparing?" I asked, a surprised look on my face as I tried to make out what he meant.
"Come here." He held my hands and dragged me towards a closed door. We entered and I realized that it was the kitchen and the entire counter was scattered with sweets and food of all kind.
"Wow." I gasped in surprise. "Did you do all of this? For me?" I pointed out to the items displayed on the counter.
"Well, u figured that since you were coming over then I'd try to make something nice for you." He confessed. "And besides, I haven't had a chance to do this ever since you left our realm. You wanna try it?"
Before I could respond, he picked up a spoon and dished out a little quantity from the plate and spoon-fed me. I moaned into my mouth when the meal made love to my taste buds.
"This is... this is freaking delicious." I complimented. "You never mentioned that you could cook. Why am I figuring this out now?"
He laughed. His face brightening up like a Christmas tree. "You never asked so I simply decided to keep quiet. Plus, it's one of my many talents."
I rolled my eyes at his words. He really could be proud when he wanted to be. "This is delicious. Thank you very much Asher."
"You're welcome Amery. I also wanted to apologize for earlier today. I hope I didn't get you into any problems with your mom." He sounded sincere and worried that it actually warmed my insides. There was a different side to Asher that I had never seen before and this might likely be one of them. He was usually very competitive but now, something about him feels strange that I can't really put my finger on it. I don't know why but I was suddenly started to get attracted and drawn to him and if this keeps up, there's no telling what might happen.
"You don't have to worry about mom. She had no idea about what happened last night." I flushed and tried my cheeks that had gone red so that he doesn't notice. "She doesn't suspect a thing so it's all good." I reassured him. "Although our neighbor saw you sneaking away and now the entire neighborhood is under strict surveillance as everyone believes that you were actually a thief." I broke down the news to him and his eyes widened in surprise.
"A thief!" He exclaimed in a loud voice and I nodded in response.
"I'm sorry." I apologized through gritted teeth.
"So does that mean that I can't come over to visit?"
I sighed deeply. "I already told you that sneaking into my room like that was a disaster waiting to happen but you didn't listen to me did you? You brought this upon yourself so yes, you can't come over to see me otherwise, they'll have you for breakfast or worse."
"I don't know how many separation I'd have to face Amery. First it was the issue with Levi that split us up and now, your entire neighborhood is trying to tear us apart." He complained and I could hear the pain in his voice as he spoke.
Not knowing what to answer to that, I decided to change the subject. "I think I'd better start the project with Quincy If I want to go home on time."
"I'll take you to him after I'm done with this." He held up the plates for me to see before discarding them into the dishwasher. My eyes roamed around the open space and I caught a glimpse of a broken tile piece just above the kitchen cabinet.
"What happened to that?" I pointed to the scratch and Asher darted his eyes to the place where I was pointing. "It's broken."
He breathed out deeply. "Levi had one of his episodes last night and decided to wreck the house to give it a new shape. It's pretty isn't it?"
He mused but I don't replace it funny. Why would he want to destroy their home? Did something happen?
"Did you try to replace out what happened and why he did that?" I inquired.
"Does Levi have any explanation for being Levi?" He retorted. "He's always used to throwing a fit and making everything about himself so I'm not surprised that he did that."
"Maybe he's going through a pretty rough time?" I suggested but he only shrugged.
"I honestly don't know what to say to you Amery but if you feel like something's up with him then why don't you ask him yourself? His room is the first door on the hall. Oh, I forgot that you're already acquainted." He answered begrudgingly and I could sense the jealousy registered there. "I was only concerned. That's it."
"Whatever you say." Came his daunting response. "I mean maybe he had a fight with his girlfriend or something. You'd never know."
My eyes flew open at that statement. Levi had a girlfriend? And how come I didn't know about it? I don't know why but I suddenly felt something stir inside me. Should I call it anger or jealousy? It was hard to tell and if I should ask Asher about it then he might catch on that I was being bitter so I just dropped the idea. "And done." He announced and took off his apron before placing it on the rack.
"Let's take you to Quincy's room so that you can start on your project. This way please..." He led me towards the direction of the room and I trailed behind him. We walked past Levi's door and I found it locked. Was he inside or just trying his very best to ignore me. "Maybe after the project, you could take a tour of my bedroom."
"I would love to." I shrieked.
Quincy's room was the last on the hallway. I guess it's because he was the third and last child. They actually took rooms in order of their age. It was nice to see that they agreed on something so trivial as that.
We arrived and Asher knocked on the door.
"Hi Quincy, it's-"
The door flew open in an instant. "Amery. Am I glad to see you. Come on in." He ushered me inside after stepping aside so that I could enter.
"I'll be outside if you need me." Asher told me before walking away, leaving me with the daredevil. I got into his room like he had requested and froze at the sight in front of me. The entire room was covered in drawings and portraits of me. Did I accidentally step into a shrine or something?
