Curse For Alpha: Betrayed Luna -
Chapter 16
Aldrick remained in the house until Alfan returned home, watching how his wife and son spent their time so well in his absence. He knew he wasn't expected here but he stayed by their side even though he was invisible, he couldn't possibly add spice to Alfan's resentment because he also didn't know how to win his son's heart and attention.
All his skills were lost to his ignorance and shame. There is a high sense of self-distrust in his heart, the main thing right now is that he wants to get an apology from Audrey and then will explain everything to Alfan who is their son. She put aside about her lost abilities, forgetting about her no longer having great abilities. The more he came here and the more he often saw how his wife's life was, he knew the current peace was produced by the woman who had even let go of all the things about the wolf world inside her.
Audrey only used her abilities to heal or ease things for the good of their son. She knew now was not the right time to get closer to his healing from the curse, she just wanted to make things easier by being a person who could do anything. "After finishing lunch and studying for 2 hours you have to rest. No need to force yourself because Mommy doesn't want to force you about grades at all. Mommy just wants you to learn and understand the learning, if you push too hard to understand something it will only make a big obstacle in you. So you don't need to bother too much about things like this, you can be an outstanding child but without causing trouble and making yourself difficult." Audrey said gently as she rubbed her son's eating head.
"I know, at school it's also still early stage learning that doesn't need too much ambition, Mom. In the future I promise, I will improve my grades that are lacking. I won't chase anything, I know that Mommy will always try to support me even if I don't manage to be the smartest kid. Later I will try to make things better, when I enter elementary school. Right now I'm just going to play and enjoy my time, I'm not going to raise things too much and I'm not going to teach things that I'm not ready to pursue."
His son was a very mature person, despite his young age. That's what Aldrick saw and understood now, about his son's growth and ability to speak and respond to what Audrey was saying. Alfan was not a stupid boy, it seemed he would be wiser than Aldrick himself who had destroyed the clan and his mate.
"You will be a very good boy, one day when you lead you will also be a very meritorious person. You're amazing that you can be so much better than me. I hope you don't get a bird's eye view of me being a failed leader. You will be educated by your mother to be a wise man and not a brash man. I will not let you become a brash man like myself, in the future if you marry and become a big man and then a leader in the Wolf advertisement that will be a person who has such a good heritage and thinking.
"I've wasted your mother so much, making her have to feel the heartache and suffering because of my actions that didn't stop even after I married her. I regret it but it hasn't earned your mother's forgiveness. Mom has given you many useful things and you should honor and take care of her with love without ever hurting her like what I did back then."
He said in his heart as he watched the interaction of his son and his wife. If he had not been covered in ignorance and had not had an affair with Emily, he would have been able to be there and enjoy all the discussions and join in the conversation. Having a family is warmth and he had not had a family for several years.
Even when he was married, he didn't have happiness because he didn't expect it. Disrespecting the person who is his partner with the end he became a party who can be said to be a coward and a traitor.
The clan was actually hostile towards him, but they couldn't say it or express it openly. If the entire clan knew that he was currently pursuing Luna's love that he had already hurt again with no shame, he would definitely receive words of resentment.
Aldrick lingered in the house for a while, only appearing when Alfan had left for school and watching Audrey at work. She seemed completely unconcerned by his presence and that let him know that whether he was here or not Audrey didn't
care.
That day he returned to the clan to see how things were going. Life and all the new things could just start again there, Aldrick found no signs of the enemy attacking and it didn't make him feel any calmer. At least now he could enjoy his time better and heal himself slowly.
"Every time you come back from there your energy must be drained, Alpha. Is life there really that hard?"
Aldrick looked at Tommy's face then took a breath and shook his head slowly. "It's not harsh, it's almost the same as here but there's no magic at all. I just feel exhausted every time I go through the portal between the human world and the Wolf world, it takes a lot of energy and in my deprived state I can't help it. I'm weak because I'm incapable, the pressure when I enter the portal is too strong."

Aldrick said as he drank the honey and medicine given by the healer. He could only survive by taking energy boosting drugs and also some medicines that he could use to keep him alive. Although his condition was not fatal, but as an Alpha who used to live with great ability and strength, it would be difficult for him to adapt to his weakened self like now.
"When will Luna be back?"
"I don't know, Audrey not helping me is something I'm grateful for. I'll let her be free first because while here she's always been the one who never gets happiness. Anyway, it doesn't matter if she wants to stay there but she will accept me one day. The situation there is the same as here so I don't need to worry, I just need to make her come back with me and forget all my mistakes, I just hope for that."
There was no more talk between them, Tommy also did not dare to disturb his leader too deeply. Although the power that Aldrick had was gone, but killing an Alpha was not a good thing in the wolf clan.
They would be destroyed by the Moon Goddess, or would be judged by the entire clan population. She knew all of this was horrible, but she just wanted to get some happiness even if she would be harassed later. His past mistakes would never disappear in Audrey's heart but he hoped that the current treatment which was far different from the past could make her forget and feel that the current him was different and there would never be a trace of the past again. When he can get that he also doesn't know yet, he hopes that she can accept him again and no longer feel resentment like before.

Alfan, who was learning to read, turned to his friend. "Why do you ask? Is it any of your business?"
"No," Nicole, Alfan's friend, replied. "I'm just curious why you never mention your father's name whenever we talk about him. You just keep quiet and occasionally say something about your mother, do you not have a father or do you have a father but he doesn't care about you?"
Alfan was silent for a few moments. "My father is a busy man, I never see him because he's always working so I only spend time with my mother. I don't care anyway because my mom is a complete mother and father. I don't think I need a father," he replied casually then stared at the alphabet in front of him.
Nicole didn't ask any more questions, she just stared at Alfan who seemed very quiet as if he didn't even exist. Although he was still young and very small but he knew that his friends were sad or the like but Alfan looked indifferent not sad. He was curious about what was really going on with his friend because he was very difficult and rarely interacted. He was only eager to learn, he would only play if he was doing play practice.
The rest of the time Alfan just stayed in his seat like someone who had no intention of joining them. Even so, Nicole knew that he was probably just not used to it or that he had a quiet nature. That's why he didn't really play with anyone and chose to sit in his seat during recess.
After school, Alfan walked through every hallway and into the bus. He was silent but was actually thinking about Nicole's remark earlier asking about his father, where was he really? His mother never talked about his father at all and he was also afraid to ask because his mother might be sad. Alfan knew that adult life was not as easy as children's life, even though he felt bad that he didn't need his father but he wondered why his father never came.
"Is it really possible that my father doesn't exist? Whose son am I? How can my mother take care of me when she doesn't have a father by her side like my other friends?"
