"I am Malcolm Foster, the head of the Punishment Division in Edoland'sNorth District! If you've done anything wrong, I suggest you confessnow!" Malcolm said coldly.

His expression was stern and intimidating.

Lachlan shook his head. "I haven't done anything wrong. What do Ineed to confess?"

Romeo snorted and held up the evidence in his hand, pointing to themaid beside him. "Lachlan, we have both eyewitnesses and physicalevidence today. You can't argue your way out of this one! Let me tellyou something - my mother was fine before she received treatmentfrom you, but now she's half-dead! We're going to get her checked outright now and replace out if there are excessive levels of arsenic poisoningin her body - all thanks to what you did!"

Harlow also spoke with hatred, "Lachlan, we have witnesses andphysical evidence against you now. You can't escape anymore! Howabout you get my grandmother checked too? Let's see if it matches upwith this piece of evidence."

"Owen, George, Jennifer - all of you saw it that day when Lachlan tookover Mrs. Lowe's treatment! Now look at Mrs. Lowe's condition;shouldn't he be responsible for what happened?" Eliza shouted loudly.Owen, George and Jennifer nodded slightly as they looked at Lachlanwith unfriendly eyes.

Now, with people testifying and presenting the residue of the medicine,Romeo's family loudly declared their intention to have Victoria's bodyexamined for elevated arsenic levels. All the evidence seemed toconfirm the “fact” that Lachlan had poisoned Victoria with the intentionof harming her.

"Bullshit! Eyewitnesses and physical evidence can be faked easilyenough! My brother-in-law couldn't possibly harm my grandmother!"Mason defended Lachlan at this point while Emmanuel and Cara joinedin saying, "If he really harmed her, then why would he bring us here?"Miranda spoke coldly, "This is ridiculous. Lachlan told me himself thathe never treated my grandmother before so where did these tracescome from?"

Hearing this statement made by Miranda caused Romeo's eyes toflicker a few times, "How is that possible? Just because he says it didn'thappen means it didn't happen? You guys can't just protect him likethis!"

“That's right! Mr. Foster, she is Lachlan's wife after all — how could wetrust what she says?" Harlow sneered.

At this moment, Lachlan infused his starry gaze with dragon energy ashe looked towards Victoria only to see some green poison circulatinginside her body indicating a certain amount of arsenic poison actuallyexisted within her system!

At that moment, Malcolm snorted coldly and motioned for his uniformedofficers to take Lachlan away for questioning.

"Take him back and cooperate with our investigation!" he ordered.“Yes sir!" the officers replied sternly as they approached Lachlan withhandcuffs at the ready.

"What are you doing? You can't just arrest someone withoutinvestigating first!" Miranda protested as she stepped in front ofLachlan protectively.

"We're just taking him back to assist with our investigation! Please stepaside and don't interfere with official business!" Malcolm retorted firmly.At that moment, he already saw Lachlan as a suspect in the case athand.

"Who dares take my brother-in-law away?" Mason demanded angrily."What are you going to do about it, Mason? Use violence?" Harlowteased him while Eliza sneered at Lachlan saying "Willis, I know you'restrong, but if you think you can resist arrest then go ahead!"

The family all knew deep down that even if Lachlan was powerful, therewas no way he could fight against national agencies!

If he dared resist, then his crime would only become more severe!Suddenly a loud voice rang out from behind them, "Who dares arrestsomeone directly?"

They turned around and saw an imposing middle-aged manaccompanied by several plainclothes subordinates striding into Lowe'sMansion confidently. Many people recognized him immediately andwere surprised by his presence there, "Mr. Burke? Why is he here?""This is Mr. Burke from Edoland's Punishment Department! What bringshim here today?"

"Why did he come..."

Harlow glared at Lionel rudely before shouting, "Who do you think youare?! Trying to obstruct official business?! Do you want to die orsomething?"

Romeo felt his eyelid twitching uncontrollably when Harlow spoke likethis. He knew who Lionel was but apparently Harlow didn't...

Malcolm quickly went up to greet Lionel, "Mr. Burke... what brings yourvisit here today?"

"Why did anyone give you the authority to arbitrarily arrest him?" askedLionel sternly before adding, "If I hadn't come here today, would thingshave gone awry under your watchful eye?"

"Mr. Burke, all the evidence points to Lachlan Willis as the suspect. I'mjust following protocol by asking him to come in for questioning,”Malcolm said, sweating profusely.

Lionel snorted and turned his attention to Lachlan, nodding at him andsaying, "Mr. Willis, I'm here today to ensure justice is served! If you'reinnocent, no one can falsely accuse you or arrest you!"

He then looked coldly at Harlow and said, "Miss, I am the ChiefEnforcer of Edoland's Punishment Bureau. Do you know who I amnow? Do I have the right to interfere with Malcolm's duties?"

Harlow widened her eyes in shock and her face turned red uponhearing this revelation about Lionel's identity.

She never expected that he was such a high-ranking official!

And it seemed like he was on Lachlan's side.

How did this guy manage to befriend even the Chief Enforcer ofEdoland?

"Mr. Burke, all the evidence shows that Lachlan wants to harm mymother. Surely you won't protect a criminal?" Romeo asked with aflicker in his eyes.

He secretly sneered inside - so what if Lionel showed up?

The evidence they had was enough to nail Lachlan!

“That's right! Since Mr. Burke is here for justice too and we have botheyewitnesses and physical evidence against Lachlan - there is no wayhe can escape!" Eliza gritted her teeth angrily.

Lionel frowned slightly before turning towards Lachlan again, "Do youhave anything else to say? If there is any proof that proves yourinnocence, please present it."

Lachlan nodded his head before looking straight at Romeo's family whowere already gloating over their victory, "I have a witness who canprove my innocence!"

Romeo laughed mockingly, "A witness? Hahaha! Don't tell me it'sMiranda or Mason? They are not qualified witnesses!"

Lachlan shook his head before pointing towards Victoria direction, "Mywitness is Mrs. Lowe!"

Everyone gasped in shock upon hearing this revelation — how couldshe be considered an eligible "victim" witness?!
