Chapter 8

Ambrosia's POV

"I bet you're all wondering how this will all work, aren't you?" I ask my 4 potential mates i my super sexy wolfie voice. I see them all nod. "I can scent you as my mate, but my wolf is confused," One of the alphas speaks up, and the rest agree that it's the same for them all.

"Alpha Craig, isn't it? Yeah, that's because you are all my potential mates. Once I choose one of you sexy beasts, my scent will be irresistible to you, and the rest of you will scent out their real mates at the mating ball at midnight. Or if I don't choose any of you, you'll still get your mate at the ball in 2 months time. It's entirely up to Amelia to chose one of you, none of you, or all of you, for that matter. But Goddess doesn't think any of you would be willing to share, so she advises us against that." They all growl their agreement at that.

"So, now we need to set up some ground rules, and you all better listen up because breaking any of the rules is gonna be frowned upon, big time!" I warn them.

"You will each be given a full week with Amelia to convince her that you are the alpha of her dreams, starting with Alpha Craig at Silver Falls." I begin, only to be interrupted.

"Why is he first?" Alpha Jerome speaks up, sounding aggrieved. "And how can we be assured that he isn't spoiling the goods during his week?"

"Both very good points, and I was just getting to that." I inform them all. "I'd appreciate if we leave the questions to the end."

"So, Silver Falls pack is the nearest territory and that's why it was chosen to be first, followed by Iron Mountain, Bull Run, and finally Winter Moon."

"As for spoiling the goods? Not going to happen on my watch. There is to be absolutely no mating and no marking of Amelia before the night of the mating ball. So keep your hands, feet, and any other part of your body you want to keep safe, all to yourself. Only hand holding and kissing above the neck will be allowed. And you better believe, Moon goddess ain't gonna be none too happy with some yahoo that thinks the rules don't apply to them. Amelia is there to assess your worthiness to be her mate, or chose someone else to be your mate. She is not going to be your temporary play thing. If Amelia don't like how she is treated, you just might replace yourself mated with a troll. Also, Gamma Leonard is gonna play chaperone."

"Oh, speaking of our favorite Gamma. Alpha Derrick, you don't mind us borrowing him for a couple months, do you, sweetie?"

"Borrow?" Derrick scoffs at the very notion. "You can keep him!"

"Alrighty, then. Questions?" I prompt. Zachary raises his hand like a little school boy, so cute! "Yes, the sexy Alpha from Iron Mountain!"

"How will you be getting from Silver Falls to Iron Mountain?" Zachary asks.

"That's a very good point! We ain't had our first shift yet, so we can't just run on over there. I'm sure you gentlemen will all be kind enough to organize transport for Amelia and the Gamma, won't you". I say, batting my eyes at them. This human flirting thing is kinda fun, actually. Alpha Jerome raises his hand next. So far he had been rather quiet, and I'd nearly forgotten he was present, despite his rather imposing presence.

"You have a question for me, you dark handsome beast?" I ask flirtatiously.

"Is Amelia a virgin?"

Ok, I really should have expected this. Especially after the whole "spoiling the goods" comment from earlier. And all my super sexiness and flirtati on probably didn't help. I mean, I gotta be me, right? Still, the question kinda pisses me off. I mean, Amelia truly is the perfect Luna for all of these guys. So why should any of them believe that the lack of an intact hymen would make any difference?

Tell them the truth, Moon goddess suggests. If someone can't handle it, that is their problem and not yours.

So, I hopped myself up on the table and sat down just a few inches away in front of Alpha Jerome, basically at his eye level. This is a man of gigantic proportions. Nearly 7 feet tall, and solidly built like a semi truck. And so damn beautiful with his dark chocolate skin and hard black eyes. This man is used to intimidating everyone around him, and always getting his way.

"Let me tell you a little story about our Amelia," I began. I could tell everyone has their listening ears on. Good. They all need to be hearing this.

"She was once in love with a boy, and that boy was pressuring our girl to have s*x because he thought she was super sexy, right? Only that boy didn't actually love her at all. But our Amelia was a smart one, and she was saving herself for her mate, just like she supposed to do. And you know what, on her 18th birthday she found out that boy was her mate! Oh, she was so happy! He was going to have to love her now, right? Well, he was mad at moon goddess because he was a Gamma, and thought so highly of himself that he thought he was deserving of someone better. Only he didn't reject our Amelia at first like he ought to have done. Nope! He did something despicable. He mated with her first, and only then did he reject her!"

All eyes were now glaring at Leo, and more than one Alpha was growling at him as well. He sunk down lower in his chair, if that were even possible. I needed to get back control of the room, pronto, before these 4 big bad alphas pound our little Gamma into the ground.

"Alright now, we need to be moving along to the best bits of this story. Remember how this girl died last night?" I pause and look every Alpha in the eye. "Well, she went and met with my bestie, Moon Goddess. And you know what she did? Selene, she healed Amelia's mind of all her past trauma. Poof! Gone! She gets herself a fresh start!"

"And not only that, but moon goddess paired that gorgeous girl up with me, and I've spent the last 12 hours healing her all up on the inside. Man, she was a mess. That knife did a whole lotta damage in there. Plus she got a concussion, and had bruises and cuts besides all that. But I fixed her up better than ever, and I repaired EVERYTHING. I even fixed her up down there, if you catch my meaning. So, you could argue that technically she had experience with a man in the past. But that's it, that's in the past. Amelia is a whole new woman now. And if that ain't good enough for you, you don't deserve her."

"And I think I'm done here. This walking around on two legs and talking s**t is exhausting. I don't know how you humans can manage this all day long!"

You were wonderful, Amelia told her as she again came forward.
