Chapter 673

Feynman gave Erlinda a nudge, then seriously stated, “Someone called Erlinda about three scripts. Professor Smith,

you know I trust you a lot. If Erlinda can somehow manage to sell a script, you will be the savior of our family. I feel

like she’s been getting more and more disobedient lately, probably even dating behind our backs. Not sure how to

discipline her, it’s hard for her mom and me, we’re not exactly cultured, you know.”

Erlinda stood up, slapping the phone out of Feynman’s hand.

“Ah!!” She screamed, like she had gone mad.

Feynman and Jean were shocked by Erlinda’s behavior, unable to believe that their daughter had lost control like

this.

Erlinda snatched the phone and bolted out of the room.

Feynman, pointing at her retreating figure, stuttered, “Has she gone nuts? I was on the phone with her teacher!

She can’t just throw a fit like that! What if she makes Professor Smith misunderstand this whole situation?”

Jean also started to panic, rushing out to chase after Erlinda.

But Erlinda had already made it to her regular bookstore, where she could get free paper and pens.

She wiped away her tears while writing a letter to Maja.

The letter had only one request – she will give the three scripts to Maja, but on one condition. Maja had to make

sure Nolan was taken down a peg or two

At the end of the letter, she wrote: Penny, I’m not sure if pleading with you will do any good, but I feel like I can’t go

on any longer. These three scripts are my proudest works, these are the ones I’ve been reluctant to share. I believe

you’ll cherish them. If you end up making money from these scripts, please give my share to Feynman and Jean.

She only had ten bucks, just enough to send a local standard delivery.

After mailing the letter and returning to her apartment complex, she saw Nolan coming over.

At the same time, Feynman and Jean also came out.

Feynman grabbed Nolan’s hand, “Professor Smith, didn’t expect you to come in person, we’re really troubling you.

You’re such a responsible teacher.”

Jean also pushed Erlinda, “Erlinda, talk to Professor Smith about your scripts, maybe you’ll finally get picked this

time.”

Under their non–stop pressure, Erlinda found it hard to speak, feeling like she was carrying a mountain on her back.

Finally, Nolan opened his car door, “Erlinda might have run into something at school. I’ll talk to her one–on–one, I’ll

either bring her home later or let her discuss scripts with her classmates at the dorm. Maybe that will inspire her.”

Feynman and Jean agreed with Nolan’s suggestion, watching as Nolan took Erlinda away without blinking an eye.

After getting in the car, Nolan pulled Erlinda towards him, unbuckling his belt while slapping her face.

Feynman and Jean were outside, looking at the car with contentment on their faces. They didn’t even give it a

second look, trusting Nolan completely and grinning from ear to ear.

Inside the car, Erlinda was being strangled, trying her best to endure the agonizing pain.

Nolan was old, so it didn’t last long. He pushed Erlinda onto the passenger seat, treating her like a piece of junk.

“Feynman was right, you’re disobedient. Let’s discuss those scripts at my place later.”

Erlinda felt sick again, and Nolan handed her a plastic bag, saying, “Feynman and Jean are still watching outside.

Are you feeling uncomfortable? If you can’t explain those scripts well, don’t think about going home for the next

two weeks.”

After making a call, Maja decided to check on Erlinda.

Before getting into the car, she called Erlinda again. This time, Erlinda answered the phone herself, with Nolan

keeping her under keen observation.

“Erlinda, are you okay?”

Erlinda couldn’t say much, so she pretended to yawn.

“Penny, I’m so tired and sleepy. Let’s talk next time.”

Since Erlinda had said so, Maja didn’t want to push her any further. Plus, she had promised Shawn to watch a

movie.

It was about time, so she purchased the movie tickets online, sent a picture and address to Shawn, then hurriedly

drove to Rosewood Manor to change clothes as what she was wearing wasn’t suitable for the occasion.

But in her rush, she mistakenly sent the movie tickets and address to lan instead.

lan was still working overtime at the Raymond Corporation. Seeing a message from Maja, he opened it.

It contained information about two movie tickets and an address.

Nothing else.

What did that mean? Was that a way of making peace?

No one dared to say anything when they saw lan checking his phone.

After a few minutes, he put down his phone and checked his watch.

The movie started at seven, and it was already half past six. He should leave now if he wanted to be there on time.

“Meeting adjourned, we’ll continue tomorrow.”

He didn’t care about what others thought and left the office first.

Jeff quickly followed, puzzled about what Mr. Raymond was up to.

Tonight’s meeting was important, and it was only halfway done.

“Mr. Raymond?”

He called out uncertainly, but lan was already heading to the elevator.

“Penny asked me to watch a movie with her, let’s postpone the meeting till tomorrow.”

“Alright then.”
