The great thing about going to see reruns of old movies at the theatre,as opposed to watching them on TV, is that you get to see the stuff inbeautiful Technicolor and CinemaScope. The TV networks will only startLetterboxing the widescreen movies around the mid-eighties.
Our TV set is a black and white model, which only helps to make my grayexistence even more so. In fact, if memory serves me well, I think we were…willbe the last on our block to get a color TV set – and a second hand one at that.
Nikolai Tesla invented the first remote control device way back in thelate 1800s, but most families here still have to get up and change the channelphysically.
At least some of the couch potatoes back here got…get a little bit ofexercise.
God, I miss my satellite dish and the 52 inch High Definitionwall-mounted Flatscreen TV that I had in my beautiful mansion on Berkley hill.
Not to mention the Dolby Digital Surround-Sound system!!!
