Edith finally received a message from Simon. He agreed to meet her in a high–end café at eight o’clock on the morning of

this Saturday

She had dialed this number many times before, but Simon had never answered. After all, he had another private number

Edith didn’t expect to receive his reply.

She couldn’t sleep all night and felt a little uneasy.

Everything was just her guess. She really wanted to know what kind of person Simon was

Edith wondered. “Will the meeting be a good or bad thing?”

She suddenly thought of Carlos, who was Simon’s uncle and should know him the best..

She hesitated but still decided to call Carlos at night.

He answered after a few beeps, which surprised Edith slightly.

“What’s up?” Carlos spoke first, his indifferent voice coming over the phone. He sounded emotionless as if he was born with a cold heart and wouldn’t care about anyone else.

Afraid of holding him up, Edith quickly replied, “Uncle. I’m going to meet Simon, but I don’t know him at all. I don’t think he’s as bad as rumored”

“Then why did you meet him?”

“I… I want to thank him in person. He didn’t restrict my freedom and even specially hired a baker for me,” Edith said sincerely with a serious look, which touched Carlos slightly.

Edith was such a kind girl. She was so grateful to someone who let her go generously.

She cherished other people’s kindness and would do whatever she could to repay them. Carlos wondered what Edith would give him in return it she knew he was the one good to her.

Thinking of this, he became more curious.

“If he has a good impression of you and goes back on his word after the meeting, what would you do? My nephew is a playboy This is not a rumor but a fact

Carlos Couldn’t help exaggerating, trying to scare her

As expected. Eduli was frightened. She swallowed and said. “Then what should I do? We’ve made an appointment

Edith was surprised to hear this wondering why Carlos was so concerned with her

If Simon really went back on his word, he would just have a wife. Thus seemed to have nothing to do with Carlos.

This convinced Edith. After all, it was natural for an uncle to educate his nephew. Moreover, knowing that Carlos would also go there, she was completely relieved.

Edith quickly sent him Simon’s message and then waited patiently for this Saturday.

Finally, that day arrived.

Edith came to the cafe early in the morning and looked around nervously to see if Simon arrived.

But Carlos came before him.

Edith muttered. “You came so early!”

“Uncle. I’m here!” She waved her arm so that Carlos could see her in the crowd.

Carlos walked forward and found that she had only drunk a glass of free lemon water with nothing else on the table. He thought she must have eaten nothing this morning.

“Why didn’t you order something?”

Hearing this, Edith lowered her voice and whispered, “The cakes here are too expensive… I can’t afford them…”

Carlos was amused by her reply.

He didn’t believe there was food in the world that his wife could not afford to cat.
