Chapter 7
Chapter 7
She didn’t dare raise her head. She quickly took her tools and was about to leave when the man stopped her..
“Aren’t you continuing? You are not done with the measurements for the pants!”
“No, no, I made a mistake. Goodbye!”
She hurriedly broke free from his hand and left in a hurry.
When she entered the empty elevator, she could finally breathe.
“This is terrible. I actually met my husband in such an awkward situation!”
“He probably didn’t see me clearly. Otherwise, I will not be able to have a good life in the future.”
And that man….
His sharp and piercing eyes appeared in her mind. He looked like a devil, and it scared her.
Fortunately, she managed to escape!
She took a few deep breaths to calm herself down and went downstairs to work.
After they finished, Sarah treated her to dinner. They had been close while abroad for three years. Now that they were both back in Caurtine, they naturally became closer.
As soon as Sarah heard that she was jobless, she immediately volunteered, “My company is recruiting at the moment. Do you want to come?”
“Sure. I just came back and don’t know what I should do. I can give it a try.”
“That’s great, then we can be together again. We worked very well in the past! By the way, you mentioned that you came back to get married as soon as you graduated. Did you get what you wanted?” Sarah quipped.
“Did I get what I wanted?” Edith asked herself repeatedly.
She couldn’t help smirking.
It was really difficult to explain the whole situation to Sarah. In the end, she shook her head and pursed her lips tight.
Sarah was a smart girl. She smiled understandingly and changed to another topic.
When Edith went back in the evening, she specifically enquired about Simon and realized that there was no reaction from him. It seemed that he didn’t
know it was her.
She heaved a sigh of relief and felt much more relaxed.
Next, she had to prepare for her interview, With her educational background and the recommendation letter from her professor, she got through the first selection easily.
A week later, she also succeeded in her final interview. She got into Simpledux and was in charge of the production of high–end clothes.
During this time, her husband did not come home, and she was happy for that.
She basically stayed at the company during the day and went back at night. Although her life was monotonous, it was stable. Only when she got off work. and went home did she believe that she was really married.
She was bound to a person whom she did not love. She wondered when all these would come to an end.
In the evening, just before she sent her customer’s clothes out, she called her in advance to let her know.

“Why is your company so inefficient? If I can’t make it in time tonight, I’ll surely complain, Hurry up and send it to Royed Bar now!” the customer riled.
Edith immediately took a taxi there.
She knocked on the door to the private room. “Hello, I’m here to deliver your clothes.”
When the waiter opened the door, she saw four men and three women inside. Three of the men were hugging a lady each while only the last man sat alone. He had his back facing her.
She recognized her client’s face immediately as she was a famous celebrity.
“Ms. Clark, your clothes are here.”
Hearing this, Teresa Clark immediately kissed Robert on the face and said, “I’ve specially ordered a dress. I’ll try it on for you!”
“Sure, baby,” Robert replied with a smile, and leaned on her butt frivolously.
She walked up to Edith and happily picked up her dress. Edith was about to leave, but Teresa stopped her.
“Aren’t you a fashion designer? I’m sure you’re good at picking the right accessories. Can you help me see which of these silk squares looks nicer? Robert loves squares the most!” Teresa asked as she threw a wink at Robert.
Left with no choice, Edith stood outside the bathroom door and waited for her to get changed before going in.
At this same moment, a man at the table spoke..
