Fall For “My Husband’s Uncle” By Janet Macadam -
Chapter 95
Chapter 95
Carlos admired his own willpower. He was actually able to help her apply the medicine to her entire thigh.
It was such a torment. Every time he wanted to tear her apart and eat her, he was afraid he would do the wrong thing and
hurt her.
He never imagined he would have such a difficult time.
He put away the medicine and said, “Let’s go down for lunch later. You should be hungry after such a busy morning.”
After that, he was about to leave when she grabbed his wrist hard.
She took back the ointment and said. “Your hand is injured. You should apply some ointment to it. Susan went out of her way to buy this ointment. I heard it’s very effective in fading scars.”
Only then did Carlos notice the back of his hand was injured. It seemed it had been scratched by something like a rivet on clothes. It was from when he taught Elvis a lesson just then.
He didn’t pay attention to it himself, but she saw it. He was a little touched and sat down again.
She gently picked up some ointment with her fingertips and rubbed it evenly on his wound. The cold touch of the ointment and the faint tenderness of her hand made his whole body stiffen.
She looked very serious when she applied the ointment. She lowered her head, and a strand of long hair fell from her forehead.
For some unknown reason, he didn’t hesitate to tuck her hair behind her ear.
She trembled slightly and looked at him in confusion with her bright eyes..
He didn’t say anything, and she curled her lips in annoyance.
“Would it kill him to say something? What the hell is he being arrogant about?”
“Does it hurt?” she asked angrily.
“No,” he replied.
“How about this?” She deliberately tightened her grip. His wound was bleeding, so it should have hurt, but he didn’t even frown, as if he were an iron man. “It still doesn’t hurt? Why don’t you play by the book? You weren’t like this when you taught me a lesson earlier!”
Edith was on the verge of a mental breakdown.
Hearing this, Carlos couldn’t help but smile. He knocked on her head and said, “Do you think I’m as delicate as you? I’m at man. This little injury is nothing to me.”
In the past…
He had been seriously injured and almost died, but he had survived. Then, that little injury was really nothing.
She covered her head and said, “Don’t knock on my head again, or I’ll become stupid.”
“You’re not clever, to begin with,” Carlos said disdainfully.
Edith was so angry that she didn’t say anythring. She couldn’t win the argument anyway.
After applying the medicine for him with great difficulty, she sent him away.
Naturally, she had lunch with Carlos. She felt it was strange. Carlos came and went in such a casual manner that it was as if that was his home. He had no scruples at all.
Moreover, she couldn’t hear any gossip!
Carlos left after dinner. It seemed that he had something to do. Edith went to Susan, who was busy in the kitchen, and carefully said, “Susan, don’t you think it’s strange that I’m so close to my uncle? After all, we were alone in the same room… Aren’t you going to say anything? Didn’t Mr. Lawson say anything?”
As she heard that. Susan’s eyes darted around and she hurriedly said, “Because Mr. Lawson has told us not to interfere with Mrs. Lawson’s friends. This house is yours now, and you can bring whoever you want back. Besides, Mr. Carlos is also family. Mr. Lawson told us if you replace your lover, this marriage can come to an end. Since Mr. Lawson has said so, we servants will naturally not say anything more.
“Besides, I’ve never seen Mr. Carlos care so much about a woman! You’re so lucky. Maybe you can get together with Mr. Carlos after divorcing Mr. Lawson!”
“No, thanks. I don’t want to marry Carlos! He has a weird temper and is unbelievably stubborn. I don’t like him! It’s just
that…”
She wondered why Carlos had arrived in time.
She had never expected at the critical moment of her life, the one who would rush in like a god would be Carlos!
Was it fate?
