Chloe

Underneath the celestial canvas, the night sky unveiled its splendor, a breathtaking tapestry of starsthat seemed to stretch on forever. The moon, a radiant sentinel, cast its ethereal glow over Blake'stall figure, illuminating it in a way that caused my body to pause

Beneath the night's pretty sky, the moon lit up Blake's face nicely. I glanced at him and the softfabric at his hands back and forth. Blake noticed my look, though his face stayed serious. But I saw abit of red on his cheeks.

Blake... Doesn't he seem embarrassed?

It was a vulnerability I hadn't seen in him before, as if there was a moment of unspoken intimacybetween us.

I puzzled over the cause of his bashfulness for a moment. Then, like a light bulb turning on, it hitme. Could it be that he felt self-conscious about seeing me without any clothes on?

After all, as werewolves, our transformations often led to torn clothing, and we usually didn’t havetime to worry about modesty. In cases of emergencies, we don't even think about it and just shift nomatter who was present.

Nakedness is a natural part of our lives and we as werewolves embrace it with grace.

Maybe tonight, the atmosphere felt different, but seeing Blake acting shy like that... I also feltembarrassed but at the same time, I felt being a little playful and wanted to tease him.

"Blake," I began, feigning innocence, "why is your face as red as a ripe tomato? Is it because of theheat?" I tilted my head, pretending not to understand.

Blake heard me and turned even redder. He looked away and cleared his throat. “It's not very windytonight,” he said, trying to sound normal. But... I wasn't about to let him off easy.

"Wind, huh?" I said with a suggestive smile. "You might be right. It's pretty warm tonight.” I pusheda strand of hair behind my ear, giving Blake a sultry look. "Since it's so hot, maybe I shouldn't botherwith this cloak. I mean, you've seen it all before.” I shrugged, acting like it was no big deal.

Blake remained frozen for a few heartbeats before finally turning his gaze towards me. Our eyeslocked, and for a moment, his thoughts were a mystery to me. Then, a sly grin curled upon his lips, and the atmosphere shifted dramatically. The timid Blake I had seen earlier was replaced bysomething more potent, an air of danger that surrounded him like an electrifying current.

"If that's your desire," he purred with a teasing lilt in his voice, "then consider it granted.” His wordssent a jolt through me, and my eyes widened in surprise. My playful attempt to tease him hadbackfired! Blake had taken a bold step forward instead of retreating!

Blake leaned closer, his breath brushed against my ear, and his voice dropped to a sultry whisper."It's been years since I held you. For me... that time felt like forever. But I had planned to take thingsslow, to give you the time and space you need after all we've been through,” he confessed in ahushed tone.

"But Chloe, if you wish for us to draw closer faster," he continued, his voice laced with temptation,"then I'm more than willing to oblige.”

I was rendered speechless, feeling like a teenager experiencing her first love, my mind spinning witha whirlwind of emotions.

Unable to respond to Blake's provocative words, I abruptly snatched the cloak from his grasp andmade my way behind the trees to change. When I returned, the silk cloak enveloped my body, hiding my regular clothes safely out of sight.

Blake's eyes were fixed on me, and though he said nothing, his gaze spoke volumes.

The way he looked at me... it was as if I were the most beautiful woman in the world, and my heartraced within my chest. Frozen in place, I was supposed to start shifting, yet I stood there like astatue, neither of us uttering a word.

Then, as if on cue, Blake stepped closer, his arm encircling my waist, drawing me into a warmembrace.

Startled but not resisting, I melted into his arms, and he held me close, as if he never wanted to letgo. His voice was a gentle murmur in my ear as he whispered, "I wasn't merely teasing you, Chloe.Every word I spoke was true."

My heart pounded loudly, and I trembled as he continued, "Chloe, I offer you the choice. Do youwish to spend this night with me, or... shall I wait?"

His words carried both deep emotion and seductive allure, and my body tingled, goosebumpsforming on my skin. Held by my mate, held by Blake, my entire being felt ablaze, a fire thatthreatened to consume me whole.

My body screamed its desire to be with him.

But... more than my body's desire, I knew that my heart was not yet ready.

Thus, I summoned the strength to whisper, "Not tonight, or in the immediate future. Our heartsneed more time to heal, Blake. We must wait."

Blake held me close, not letting go, but his grip on my waist became more tender, his embracegentler. He closed his eyes, taking in my scent as if it were the elixir that kept him grounded. Then,he sighed softly.

"Alright," he conceded, his voice gentle and warm. "I'll respect your wishes." With those words, hefinally released me.

As his arms let go, I felt a strange emptiness, a yearning to pull him back into that comfortingembrace. But Blake had already stepped back, granting me space. His smile softened the moment, and he asked, "Are you prepared to begin your training?"

Several hours passed, and I lay on the grass, my breath heavy and labored. I gazed up at the sky, where the dawn's first light was about to break.

"Good job tonight,” Blake praised me, offering a bottle of water and sitting beside me. "You shouldrest and try to get some sleep. Today, our packs will commence joint training.”

I took a sip of water and nodded, my curiosity getting the better of me. "Blake, can you tell meabout our training today?"

During our meeting, we'd agreed that the Frost Fang Pack would assist my pack members in theirtraining, but I hadn't had the chance to inquire about the specifics.

"Well," Blake began, his tone thoughtful, "your pack's strength lies in poison—it's your sharpestblade. But not all of your pack members possess the skill to wield that blade effectively.”

"So," he continued, "the Frost Fang Pack will help refine this blade by teaching you the intricate artof assassination.”
