Chapter 111 Presley
“I can’t say it, child. It’s my fault that I dragged you into this mess. I’m sorry, Jovany,” Nick said tearfully.
“Can you tell me whose responsibility it was for that accident back then?” Camila was eager to know the truth.
“I think it should be the responsibility of the supplier. The cement they provided was of poor quality and simply not usable. Otherwise, the steel bars wouldn’t have fallen off.”
“Who was responsible for contacting the supplier?”
Presley, who was the project leader at that time, was Mr. Felton’s person. Nick is an honest person and would not tell lies.
Upon hearing this, Camila understood immediately that someone wanted to bring up old issues and intentionally harm Gideon.
But the company had already gone bankrupt, so what benefits could those who harmed him gain from it?
“Did the Felton family send you to replace me?” Camila felt almost certain that it was the Felton family.
They used her to stir up this matter. On one hand, she was a relative of the deceased, which made her more persuasive in speaking. On the other hand, it caused Maxwell to break ties with her.
“I really can’t say this, kid. Those people, they have power and

influence, they can do anything. We can’t beat them,” Nick said with a bitter face.
Camila suddenly thought of that Hector, and she pulled out Hector’s photo from her phone. “Nick, have you seen this person before?”
“Yes, it’s him, he always came to replace me. He wouldn’t let me say anything, otherwise he would kill my entire family.”
Camila thought, “Wasn’t this person arrested? How did they get out so quickly? It seems like the Felton family really has some influence.”
“Are those pieces of evidence that you gave me all given by him?”
“It was given to me by him, and I didn’t understand it either. I gave it to you without even looking at it. I don’t know anything else about it.”
When Camila left, she gave Nick 100 dollars and asked him not to tell anyone about her visit.
Back at the Starling’s home, Felicity called Camila. She told her that the recent online comments were spread by the Public Relations Department of Felton Realty
It was really the Felton family.
The next day, the court notified Camila that pre–trial mediátion would take place next week.
In the afternoon, Dimon found her.
Camila had no good impression of Dimon.

Two people met at the hotel restaurant.
When Dimon met Camila, he gave her a diamond necklace, but Camila politely declined, creating an awkward
atmosphere.
“What did you want to see me for today?”
“Regarding your lawsuit, I wanted to ask if there’s anything I can do to help?” Dimon said with a smile.
“Thank you, I don’t need help for now,” Camila replied. “But I’m curious about that person named Jeff, where is he now?”
Dimon’s face changed slightly, “I didn’t know the person you’re talking about.”
“He was the foreman back then, and I heard that he was introduced by your father. I would like to add him as the third party in this case.”
“He has been missing for many years, it’s no use chasing after him,” said Dimon.
“Has he been missing for many years? What about Presley?”
Dimon’s eyes turned sinister. “None of the people you mentioned have anything to do with your father’s accident. If you pursue them, you won’t pass the court’s scrutiny.”
“Really?” Camila had the recording that day when Nick accused Presley, but she wouldn’t tell Dimon.
“Who told you about Presley?” Dimon asked.
“I heard from my grandmother that my father went to work at the construction site, which was recommended by Presley.

And after my father had an accident, he even signed a
compensation agreement with my grandmother, promising to provide a compensation of 25 thousand dollars to the family members.”
The more Dimon listened, the more furrowed his brow became.
Dimon thought, “Why is it that now, the responsibility falls on my shoulders?”
“Can I have a look at that agreement?” Dimon became
somewhat unsettled.
“The agreement was in my hands. I couldn’t show it to you, but I can tell you that there was Presley’s signature and Jeff Company’s official seal on the agreement.”
In the past, Adam introduced the contractor Jeff to work for Starling Realty, and Presley was their intermediary. Later, Adam sent Presley to Jeff’s company to serve as the vice president. The two of them colluded and embezzled 50 million dollars from Starling Realty using Jeff’s construction
company.
Then, after Maxwell’s parents had an accident, Adam used the excuse of immigration to take 15% of Starling Realty’s shares from Gideon. However, he was not satisfied. At that
time, Jeff was in custody, and Presley took over Jeff’s company. He deliberately caused an accident, hoping to bring down Starling Realty and seize the opportunity to acquire it. Unfortunately, Gideon directly applied for bankruptcy, and he ended up with nothing.
Adam has been brooding over the years. He later learned that Gideon had established another real estate company called
Starling Realty, and it was said that many of Starling Realty’s assets had returned to Gideon’s name. This made him have to doubt the bankruptcy of that year.
So Adam went to great lengths to investigate Gideon’s background, and after replaceing some clues, he had ulterior motives towards Starling Realty.
Adam was determined to acquire Starling Realty at all costs. Little did he know that Gideon quickly transferred Starling Realty to Maxwell’s name, which infuriated him.
Dimon messaged Presley and asked him if he had the agreement.
Presley said it seemed like there was a signature, but he forgot whether it was signed or not.
Dimon was very angry and thought, “With this agreement, won’t it bring trouble to me?”
Camila looked at Dimon’s ever–changing expression and secretly felt happy. It seemed like the fish was taking the bait.
Leaving the hotel restaurant, Camila hailed a taxi. Along the way, she noticed a car following her.
Returning to the Starling’s home, Maxwell stood in the yard waiting for her.
“Did the court inform you about the pre–litigation mediation?” Maxwell asked.
“Yes”
“Grandfather is currently unconscious and unresponsive. What conditions do you have to say? It’s nothing more than
wanting money, but you have to promise me that once you receive the money, you will withdraw the lawsuit.”
“I didn’t want money, and I wouldn’t withdraw the lawsuit.”
“What do you really want then?” Maxwell felt increasingly unable to understand Camila.
“Some things, I haven’t decided yet,” Camila said. “How is Gideon doing now?”
“Do you have the audacity to mention Grandpa?” Svetla walked out of the study and said, “If you hadn’t informed Grandpa, he wouldn’t have been able to go to the hospital now.”
Camila saw Svetla and turned around to enter the house.
Svetla grabbed her arm and said, “Hey, don’t go, I have something to ask you.”
“This card is the one I found in your room, is it yours?” Svetla took out a bank card and waved it in front of Camila.
“It’s mine, give it back to me,” Camila recognized that card as the one Gideon had given her, probably dropped while packing.
“Yours? I think you stole it from grandpa, didn’t you?”
Svetla handed the card to Maxwell again, saying, “Maxwell, you see, this is grandfather’s card, and his name is still on it.”
Maxwell certainly knew about this limitless black card.
“Why is Grandpa’s card with you?” Maxwell’s face darkened.
