Flirting With My Ex-husband -
Chapter 425
Scarlett heard the old man's words, and she was touched. But she didn't want to mention Jessie again because, in any case, it was Jessie who accompanied her grandfather and Viviana before she came back to the family.
Scarlett would have taken her sarcasm as a joke if Jessie hadn't intended to set her up. She was indifferent to it.
"Grandpa, let's play chess!"
"Yes! Don't let me win on purpose!"
Scarlett glanced at Viviana, "Viviana, I'm playing chess with grandpa!"
"Go ahead! Your grandpa doesn't have many hobbies. He just loves to play chess, but I'm not very good at it. I'm a lousy chess player."
"But you're the best buyer in shopping!" Scarlett joked. She then followed the old man to the study to play chess.
Scarlett didn't lose on purpose this time. In the end, she won narrowly by one draw.
Although the old man lost, he was happy. "My granddaughter is a genius! Haha!"
Scarlett poured a cup of tea for the old man, "Grandpa, shall we go out for a walk?"
They had been sitting in the study for over an hour. She felt tired, yet she was young. The old man must have been tired too.
The two walked downstairs for a while. Night fell, and Scarlett helped her grandfather walk back to dinner.
After dinner, the old man called her into his study.
"What do you think of Raymond?"
Scarlett knew that her grandfather would ask her the question when she came.
She didn't want to hide it from her grandfather. But she was a little embarrassed, "Grandpa, I still love him."
She felt awkward, but she couldn't help herself.
Probably she was too lucky in most things, so in this aspect of love, it was a little more difficult than others.
Hearing her answer, the old man's face turned gloomy.
Scarlett compressed her lips and didn't say anything.
After about ten seconds, the old man pulled open the drawer beside him. "Someone sent this letter anonymously to our house last week. Take a look."
Scarlett raised her eyebrows and took the letter.
After reading the letter, Scarlett frowned.
The letter told of her complicated relationship with Henry and Raymond. It then condemned Scarlett for being the other woman with Raymond. In the end, it reminded the Tanks that Larry should not marry a woman like Scarlett.
They couldn't replace where the letter was sent from, no sender information on the envelope. But after she read the letter she knew that the person who sent it was definitely related to Raymond.
Now Scarlett understood why her grandfather had been so angry that day. She compressed her lips and said," Grandpa, Raymond has been around me again since we got the divorce." Hearing Scarlett's words, the old man's face eased, but he still grunted, "He doesn't know how to cherish you. There are so many good guys in this world. He's not the only one!" Scarlett smiled, "But he's the only one I love."
The old man sighed, "You've been on your own all these years. I'm not going to interfere in your affairs. But it's not that easy for Raymond to get my permission!"
Scarlett knew that his grandfather was letting her make her own choice. Looking at her grandfather, whose hair was grey, she was touched. "I won't let him get what he wants so easily either." The old man nodded in satisfaction, "It's late. Go get some rest! You have to get up early tomorrow morning to catch your flight."
Scarlett put the letter away. "Grandpa, can I take this letter with me?"
She wanted to replace out who was behind this.
"OK." The letter annoyed the old man.
Scarlett smiled, "Good night, Grandpa."
"Good night."
Back in her room, Scarlett took out her phone, which had buzzed several times. The screen was lit up, and she saw three missed calls from Raymond.
Her eyebrows raised, Scarlett found Raymond on WhatsApp and they chatted for a few minutes. Then Raymond told her to go wash up and rest. She put her phone aside, got her clothes, and went to shower.
When Scarlett came to Tank's house, she didn't bring anything with her. But when she left, she had a large suitcase.
Just as Scarlett exited the airport, she saw Alexis. Scarlett walked over with her suitcase and asked, "You can't see me with sunglasses on?" "It's not like that. There are paparazzi around!"
Scarlett raised her eyebrows at Alexis' words. "Let's get in the car."
"OK."
The two left the airport at a fast pace. They went to the parking lot and got into the car.
The glass of the car window was specially made. People outside couldn't see inside.
Alexis took off her glasses and scarf, "God, these paparazzi are so annoying!"
