Alexander stiffened momentarily, having a sense of foreboding that this was going to be a rough night.

Scarlett had been standing right beside Raymond. Though Raymond hadn't put Alexander on speaker, she had still overheard most parts of their conversation. After he hung up, she smiled, "Let's go back.

Raymond lowered his head and looked at her for a while before he agreed reluctantly, "Okay."

Just now the mood had been perfect. How romantic the moment would have been if he had kissed her!

He cursed Alexander inwardly.

Scarlett looked at him, lowered her eyes and snickered.

After walking a few paces, Scarlett paused and gave his hand a pull. "Raymond."

"What's the matter?"

He turned to look at her.

Scarlett smiled, "I think I got bitten by a mosquito."

With that she held out her hand and rolled up her sleeve to reveal her fair-skinned arm.

Suspecting nothing, Raymond lowered his head to scrutinize her arm, but there was no mosquito bite on her snow-white arm.

The look in his eyes flickered. "Maybe it's just—"

Before he could finish his sentence, Raymond felt something soft pressed against his lips.

It was Scarlett.

He soon caught on, wrapped his arm around her waist and cupped her chin to kiss her amorously.

Their kiss was bolder than usual, maybe because being in the wilderness served as some kind of stimulus to them.

Suddenly, a ringtone was heard, dampening their ardor. Scarlett instantly came to herself and, face flushed, rearranged her clothes.

Raymond looked at her, his gaze so intent as though it would burn her if she stared into them.

Scarlett took a few moments to collect her

thoughts before she pulled out her ringing phone.

The call was from Larry.

Her face felt even hotter now. She released her hold on Raymond and walked to the side.

A night breeze blew by. Not until her arousal ebbed away completely did she answer the call. "Larry?"

"Have you eaten?"

"Yes, I have."

"Peyton told me you're great. What do you think of him?"

"He's an outstanding man, Larry."

Scarlett paused for a brief moment and then added, "But he's not my type."

Larry was silent for a long moment. "It's okay. Just spend some more time with him. If it's really not meant to be, I'll figure something out." "Okay, Larry."

Larry suddenly changed the subject. "Has Raymond harassed you lately?"

Scarlett was surprised that Larry was using the word "harass".

She glanced at Raymond beside her. "No."

"I see. Don't speak to him."

"Okay."

After hanging up, Scarlett looked at Raymond. Recalling Larry's question, she felt a warm blush rise to her cheeks.

She felt ashamed as if she were having an affair.
