The two of them had just returned to the race track when Alexander walked over. " Scarlett, Ray, where have you guys been?"

"We went to see fireflies."

Scarlett told him the truth. Alexander did a double take and stealthily gave Raymond the thumbs-up.

He felt that Alexander was quite savvy.

But Raymond's eyes were frosty when he looked at Alexander. Recalling the phone call just now, Alexander felt a chill creeping down his back.

At that moment, a sudden female voice was heard. "Mr. Shaw, Mr. Smith, long time no see."

The girl was heavily made up and wearing hot pants, but Scarlett could tell that the woman was sexy and pretty, for her ample bosom was difficult to ignore, and her long slender legs beneath her hot pants were even more conspicuous.

The woman waved at them, and her smile fleetingly froze as her eyes rested on Scarlett. "You must be Ms. Reed."

The woman held out her hand to Scarlett and introduced herself. "I'm Aggy Lea. I've heard a lot about you, Ms. Reed."

Scarlett held out her hand with a thin smile. "Nice to meet you, Ms. Lea."

"I never thought a tender woman like you would show up in a place like this, Ms.

Reed."

After saying that, Aggy paused. Before Scarlett could say anything, she added, "Oh, by the way, Mr. Shaw used to be the most popular car racer in this place. Have you ever been in his car? A lot of girls used to fight each other to sit in the passenger seat of his car. Seeing as how ladylike you are, you probably know nothing about scrapping. Am I right, Ms. Reed?"

Aggy sounded rather unfriendly, and she looked at Scarlett as if the latter were her enemy.

Scarlett soon cottoned on. After a glance at Alexander who seemed to be enjoying the show, she replied blandly with a faint lift of her eyebrows, "Thank you for the compliment, Ms. Lea." Aggy who had just made a lot of remarks was surprised by Scarlett's short response.

Aggy thought, 'She thinks I said those words to praise her?

'Does she really not understand or is she playing dumb?'

Aggy cast a look at Raymond, wondering why Raymond had chosen such a stupid woman.

Raymond slid Alexander a frigid sideways glance, took Scarlett by the hand and drew her forward, showing no regard for Aggy.

All men present were rich. Some of them were adept at driving and contracted to car racing clubs who needed good car racers to help make the clubs' names known.

Car racing was indeed a sport for the rich.

Raymond hadn't participated in any car races for over ten years, but every member of the local upper class knew him.

Many people were astonished at the sight of him showing up with a girl. When they saw Scarlett's face clearly, many of them marveled inwardly.

Where did he get himself such a hot girlfriend?!

Had it become very easy to replace a beautiful date like her?

But someone promptly recognized Scarlett as Raymond's ex-wife.

The others present were all curious about the relations between the two of them.

Many believed that Scarlett was pestering Raymond to get back with her. One of them wanted to stick up for Raymond and excitedly hurried over. "Raymond, long time no see! Who's this girl? Your wife?" Many people burst into laughter at the man's words.

In this circle, nothing could embarrass a man's date more than this question, for in the normal course of events, when asked this question, the man would reply indifferently, "Stop that nonsense."

On the surface, the man spared his date from embarrassment by saying those words, but in fact, he also expressed his indifference.

If he really cared about his date, why would he tell his friends to show no regard for her?

Raymond didn't have a fetish about getting new dates, but he was in this circle, and he was fully aware of the dark side of these people's personality.

On hearing the man's words, Raymond's face hardened. "My future wife. I haven't won her heart yet."

Many people gasped at Raymond's reply.

Aggy who had been cold-shouldered a moment ago had a sulky look on her face after hearing those words. She walked straight up to Raymond. "Mr. Shaw, if I see right, she's your ex-wife. I thought your ex-wife-"

"I like dating my ex. You got a problem with that?"

Raymond interrupted her.

Aggy froze after hearing Raymond's pointed words, mixed anger and embarrassment written all over her face. Alexander had been watching from the side. Even he felt sympathy for Aggy.

Alexander was enjoying the show when Scarlett suddenly glanced at him with a half-smile.

Alexander stiffened momentarily. If he were holding anything in his hands, it would have dropped to the ground.
