Scarlett had originally intended to go to Juanton University with Justin on the day of the anniversary celebration, but

Raymond was an alumnus and had been invited as well. He wanted her to go there with him, so eventually she had to go with Raymond.

Jepson Wooden, the principal, when told that Raymond would attend this year's anniversary celebration of Juanton University, suspected that he was too old to hear people correctly.

The Shaw family had made their fortune when Raymond's grandfather was the patriarch. After the Shaw family became rich, Raymond's grandfather had donated a lot of supplies and money to Juanton University.

Afterward his grandfather had died, and Raymond had taken over Teuton and become the head of the Shaw family. Every year Raymond had his secretary wire five million dollars into the account of Juanton University as a donation.

Therefore, every year Jepson had his subordinate send a digital invitation to Raymond's secretary's email box and a paper version of it to the man's office, though Raymond had never accepted it. But almost everybody seemed to have acquiesced in Raymond's refusal.

However, this year Raymond's secretary had suddenly told them that Raymond happened to be available on that day and would attend the celebration. Not only Jepson but also the director felt a little incredulous.

The black Lexus slowly halted and with that a black-suited man stepped out of the car, who then turned around to look at the passenger and reached out his hand to support Scarlett out of the car. The couple of top-ranking executives of the university were all momentarily amazed when they saw Raymond in person.

Having realized that this time around Raymond really came, they hurried over to welcome him. "Thank you for making time in your busy schedule to attend our anniversary celebration, Mr. Shaw. It's a great honor for Juanton University!"

Jepson looked at Raymond with a beaming smile. When his eyes rested on Scarlett standing beside Raymond, Jepson was surprised again. "Scarlett?"

Scarlett nodded with a smile. "Mr. Wooden, long time no see." "Yeah, it's been so many years since we last met. You haven't changed a bit."

As Jepson finished speaking, Vernon Lisle the director said, "That's not true. Scarlett's been getting prettier by the day, hasn't she?

Scarlett had never felt shy in such circumstances when she was younger, and now she was even more composed.

Knowing that Vernon was complimenting her to break the ice, Scarlett accommodatingly replied, "You still praise girls for their beauty on sight as you always do, Mr. Lisle."

Juanton University was Scarlett's Alma Mater, and Scarlett was an alumna that Juanton University was proud of. On this occasion, she returned as an outstanding alumna, so the leaders of the university, naturally, were very friendly to her.

As for why Scarlett had come with Raymond instead of Justin, they were too sophisticated to ask her such a question which could easily cause her to feel embarrassed.

"Mr. Shaw, Scarlett, let's go to the hall and talk later."

Jepson had promised Scarlett that he wouldn't allow any journalists to bother her.

Raymond's attendance at the anniversary celebration of Juanton University counted as a piece of news for the press. Jepson naturally wanted to take the opportunity to publicize the university free of cost, but he had made Scarlett a promise some time ago. As an elder, he couldn't break his word. They walked into the reception room next to the hall. This was the day of the anniversary celebration, and all students knew that Scarlett and Justin would attend it, but the hall could only hold three thousand people or so. There were forty or fifty students in total. They had to even out the tickets among the classes. Many students had failed to get a ticket but wanted to see Scarlett who was the most beautiful alumna of Juanton University. They had been waiting outside the windows of the hall for quite a while. If Jepson hadn't taken precautions, Scarlett would very likely be besieged by students before she could reach the dais.

Jepson personally ushered Scarlett and Raymond into the reception room. Soon the director and other top-ranking executives led Justin inside.

Scarlett glanced at Justin. The two of them exchanged a nod as some sort of greeting.

There was still over half an hour before the opening speech. Jepson and Vernon stayed to keep the three of them company.

Scarlett and Justin were both former students of Juanton University, so they naturally had a lot to talk about. For fear that Raymond might feel cold-shouldered, Jepson introduced Justin to Raymond. But Jepson was unaware that Justin had long since made Raymond's acquaintance.
