Gina.

“Are you alright?” Derrick asked me while we were both in the garden, sitting and just enjoying the beauty of nature.

It has been two days since I was told that I went missing for over four days.

I broke my eyes from the beautiful flowers I was staring at to look at him, and a faint smile lighted my not-so-bright face.

“I am trying to, but it’s just that it doesn’t make sense that I will be missing for days, and I can’t seem to understand how I left and came back,” I said to him.

Since I came back, the pack has not been the same; there is fear among the pack members, and the credibility of my mates being able to take over leadership from their father has been questioned.

Denver has slowly crawled back into his old shell, which it took me a lot to pull him from.

He has been saddled with the responsibility of leading the pack warriors to search the pack for any strange people that might be using any form of sorcery.

“I’m sure at the right time you will remember that something happens for a reason, you know, just give it time,” Derrick said reassuringly to me while gently stroking my shoulders.

While Devon and Derrick have been very expressive about how much they missed me and searched for me all over the pack, Denver has not said a thing besides the first day that I came.

I am not going to pretend that I don’t miss him; I miss having all three of them around me.

“Hey, babe, I have been looking for you guys,” Devon said as he walked into the garden to join us.

Seeing him brightened my mood a little as he sat beside me on the fancy garden bench.

“Hey, where have you been?” I questioned, throwing him a teasing look.

“Denver asked me to make sure I was on ground to supervise the food the palace chef was making for you. So, I stayed back, so I could bring the food over for you,” he said to me, resting comfortably on the bench and throwing his hand around my shoulders.

“Thank you,” I said to him.

“Anything for you, my princess,” he said, pressing a k**s on my cheeks.

It’s been difficult for me to get anything done since I came back, and even though I feel very well on the outside, I can’t exactly say the same thing on the inside.

It usually gets worse when I sleep; I always dream about the person flogging me over and over, and even though it is just a dream, it feels so real that tears sometimes spill from my eyes.

Devon had suggested that I go and visit our pack chief priest to see if he could help me with my memory. As much as I think it is a great idea, I replace myself ordinarily not wanting to go.

It was almost as if I feared what I might see if they decided to make me remember.

“It’s a beautiful evening,” I said after some moments of quietness.

“Yes, it is.” Derrick agreed with me.

“It’s going to be a beautiful night,” Devon added.

“How about we take a walk to the stream? I am sure you will love the view,” Devon proposed.

“That’s a good idea; I think you might need the fresh air because you have been in here for a long time,” Derrick added.

I considered their offer for a walk for a few seconds. It was true that I have been doing my best to avoid everyone, but it wouldn’t hurt anyone for me to walk with my mates.

“I will go if only Lucia is coming with us,” I said, realizing what I had said after I said it.

On second thought, I figured that the reason I might have wanted her to come with us was to ensure that she was safe.

But I noticed a sudden quietness among my mates as soon as I called her name.

“Do you trust her?” Derrick asked me quietly.

“Who, Lucia?” I questioned them, wondering why they would ask me such a question.

“Yeah, do you trust her?” He questioned, his voice a little serious this time.

My eyes subconsciously went to Devon, and I could tell that he already had an idea of what Derrick was going to talk about.

“Why the question? Do you think she has anything to do with any of this?” I questioned, sharing my gaze with my two mates.

“Not really, but I recently heard about how and who brought her to the palace, and I can’t help but become suspicious of her,” Derrick said.

“I don’t understand; what did you hear?” I questioned.

“I overheard some servant saying that she is getting preferential treatment from you because she was brought by Lucas Amel, Gwen’s father,” he explained.

What!

Okay, as much as I want to believe that Lucia is harmless, I would never have guessed that she was brought by Gwen’s father.

I wonder about the type of connection they both share and why he had to bring her to the palace.

“Perhaps she was one of his servants that he decided to bring to the palace?” I asked Derrick.

“It is not unusual for him to bring gifts to my father, but, with all that is happening, one can’t help but become suspicious of everyone and everything. And in your case, he is the only one that stands a chance to get something, should any misfortune befall you,” Derrick explained to Gina.

“I don’t know, but if truly he is involved in my disappearance, then why did he let me go unhurt, and what did I see that he tried to hide by blurring out of my memory?” I subconsciously said this while lost in my thoughts.

“Well, exactly the reason Denver has not arrested him is that there is nothing linking him with you, but we know he is somehow involved,” Devon answered me this time.

“I will speak with Lucia and see what I can get from her. “I don’t get any negative vibes around her,” I said to them.

“Still, you have to be careful,” Devon said, gently caressing my face and pulling me in for a gentle k**s while Derrick showered k****s on my neckline and shoulder.

Being touched and teased by my friends helped me relax a great deal, but I couldn’t exactly say if I was ready for what they were offering.

“On second thought, how about we all go inside and make sweet love to you? We have missed you so much,” Derrick hummed into my ears while nipping on my soon-to-be marking spot.

As sexy and hot as that sounded in my ears, I preferred their first offer of taking a walk to the stream.

“Ahhhh,” g*****d Devon, as he tried to hide the huge bulge between his legs with his hand.

Seeing how much I affected them made my cheeks flush while I pretended to look away from them.

Just then, Lucia walked in on us.

“Good evening, mistress,” she said with a smile.

If she noticed that my mates had massive c***s begging to be freed from their pants, she did well by not showing it.

“What is it, Lucia?” I questioned, trying hard to conceal the laughter that was threatening to escape my lips.

“I was wondering if you needed anything, mistress, like maybe a foot massage or something,” she said.

I was about to answer her when I heard,

“Get out of here,” Derrick said in an alpha voice, and Lucia ran back into the house at the speed of light.

I started laughing hysterically.

“You are mean,” Devon said, standing up from the chair.

“You guys just scared my maid away; she didn’t deserve that, I said, still chuckling.

Let’s go to the stream; I will grab a jacket for you, Derrick said, standing up and walking towards the house.

It was already dark when we got to the stream, and Derrick made me sit down to enjoy the beauty of the stream.

We had barely sat for five minutes when we saw many fireflies lighting up the whole stream. It was so beautiful to behold.

Devon said something about how he had been coming to the stream right from when he was a baby that couldn’t remember ever seeing the stream so beautiful.

A few moments later, we heard footsteps heading our way and soon got to know that it was Denver along with a few of the pack warriors.

Denver is not all that happy to see us there, and I couldn’t help but wonder why.

“You shouldn’t bring her out here this late,” Denver said to his brothers.

“I asked them to bring me out here because I was bored by being indoors,” I said to Denver, taking his icy eyes in mine.

“The pack is not safe now for things like this; you should go back home,” he said dismissively.

“I want to stay a little while, and if you don’t mind, I would like you to join us,” I said to him.

He stared into my eyes, and I could see his eyes soften a little, but I guess being with his men made him switch his mood.

“It’s okay,” he said, after which he instructed the guards with him to position themselves around the stream.

He then sat with us to enjoy the beautiful view in silence.
