Her Return, His Regret
Chapter 147~ A deal

Ivy had a smug smile on her lips when she left Ryan's room. Her heart was leaping with joy.

Finally, she had her revenge. Ryan was dying and Lora would be alone forever with her two little bastards.

"Oh, Lora, you thought you could beat me... who's the loser now?" Ivy said to herself and giggled.

She entered the elevator and pressed the button for the ground floor. Since Ryan was in a coma, she didn't have to worry about being caught.

He didn't know she had sneaked into his ward and he would never know the truth about the past. The thought of Ryan still feeling a little guilty towards her thinking she had saved him in the past filled Ivy with joy.

With a sense of satisfaction, Ivy waited for the elevator to reach the ground floor. When it finally did, she stepped out but her smile froze when she found two men in suits standing outside.

Ivy was about to make a run for it when the police who were behind the men came forward and surrounded her.

"Miss Williams, you are under arrest for kidnapping and attempted murder-"

"You got the wrong person," Ivy said nervously, trying to sidestep the police.

However, one of the men in black took out his phone and showed Ivy footage of her in Ryan's room.

Ivy scoffed and said, "This doesn't prove anything. I'm a distant relative and just wanted to check how he was doing."

"Do you want me to play the audio of this footage, Miss?" The man asked. "Mr Kingsley heard everything you said. It doesn't matter if you've changed your appearance, your face is still the same. It's time for you to pay for your crimes, Miss Williams." Ivy looked around anxiously and pushed the officer before making a run for it.

'There's no way I'm going to jail. Never,' she said in her mind as she ran as fast as her legs could take her.

However, luck was not on her side. The police caught up with her and pinned her to the ground, cuffing her wrists.

"No! I didn't do anything! You can't do this!" Ivy screamed as they dragged her away.

She saw how everyone had stopped to watch what was happening and anger flashed through her eyes.

Glaring at the onlookers, she hissed, "What the hell are you looking at? Mind your own fucking business!"

As the police finally dragged Ivy out of the hospital, she yelled hysterically, "This is not over yet! Ryan and Lora, I'll make sure I ruin you!"

On the other side of town, David Williams was informed about Ivy's arrest by his assistant.

"What? How did it happen? I made sure she was untraceable!" He asked.

"Miss Williams was arrested at the hospital. She went to see Mr Kingsley and got caught before she could leave," the assistant replied gingerly.

David hit his fist on the table, his brows furrowing. He spat, "Dammit! Ivy has always been impulsive. Now I can't do anything since she's already been caught!"

"This is all because of Ryan Kingsley. I swear I'll make him pay for what he did to my daughter!"

David took out his phone and called Celeste.

"Let's move up our plans. I want that bastard to lose everything before he dies. I want him to regret hurting my daughter on his deathbed! I'll avenge my daughter!" David hissed.

On the other side of the phone, Celeste smirked and remarked, "Now that's the energy I want... let's meet in a few days."

...

The next day, Lora went to see Ryan. As instructed, she took a shower and wore the sterilised gown before entering Ryan's ward.

She looked at him and relief washed over her when she saw that some colour had returned to his face.

"You look like you feel better," Lora said, a smile crossing her lips.

Ryan smiled at her and replied, "I

do... Ivy being out there stressed me out. I always worried that she would do something to hurt you again. Now that she's been arrested, Kean rest assured that you will be safe."

sw no

When Ivy was arrested the previous day, the news was broadcast on every news channel in the city. However, they did not go into much detail since Ryan didn't want people to know where he was admitted. "Did she try to hurt you when she came?" Lora asked worriedly.

Ryan shook his head. He said, "I think she just came to mock me."

After recalling her words, he shook

his head and added, "She told me the truth about the past... It turns out I had been a fool for so many years. Ivy never saved me before... she fied. I was really grateful to her for saving me, not knowing she took all the credit when I was saved by I

someone else. I've asked Adan to

look for the person who saved me."

Lora furrowed her eyebrows and asked, "Are you going to try and repay that person like you did with Ivy? They probably don't even remember... some people just help without expecting anything in return."

"I know," Ryan replied. "I just want to know who deserved my gratitude and say thank you. Come to think of it, I had always found it strange that Ivy would use those incidents to get what she wanted. It was like she had saved me for a price and I had to pay for the rest of my life

"She will get what she deserves. No one goes unpunished. One way or another, we would have to face the consequences of our actions," Lora remarked.

Silence fell upon them briefly before Ryan replied, "Yeah, like me. I ignored my illness and now, here we are."

Lora grabbed Ryan's hand and squeezed it, saying, "We have learnt a lesson and we will fight this illness. Together."

Ryan glanced at Lora, his eyes glistening with unshed tears. He said, "I wish I could kiss you right now. You look so beautiful."

Lora blushed, her heart skipping a beat.

She smiled, leaned closer and replied, "When you get better, I'll give you all the kisses you want."

A playful glint flashed through her eyes as she added, "I'll not only give you kisses, but I'll also give you head and then ride you like a pro."

Ryan hissed, closing his eyes to imagine that for a second. His eyes fluttered open and desire flashed through them. He said in a hoarse voice, "It's a deal."

...

Days later...

At a nearby hotel, Jason stepped into the lobby. His mother, Celeste Anderson Kingsley, had invited him to dinner.

As he approached the VIP room, voices drifted out of the crack in the door. He stopped short when he heard what was being said.

".....your fault for letting Ryan live. You should have made sure he died when we arranged his kidnapping years ago," Celeste's voice reached Jason's ears and his eyes widened into saucers. What did he just hear?
